  • So does this mean there's a sequel called Anime: Lazy Japanese?

  • @Sfoilgirl03 My only point is that pretty much all animators do it, that I know of, and even movies use the same stock footage. Making a video takes time, a lot of time, taking shortcuts that don't effect the quality is great, especially when you're a little kid waiting for such films.

  • i dont knoe why but that chipmunks song is fucking catchy! haha ima bump it my car like thug lmao

  • Also, this was during the dark time of animation. Feature films had a terrible time trying to make a profit, and Disney was the only animation company that made it through. Reusing animation to keep the costs down was one of the ways they managed to survive.

  • I make animations Using paint (not good ones) and i hate making frames, so, and so does disney probally as PinkOnBlace, it's just saving time and money, there not lazy, you try making an hour and a half movie, drawing over 1000 frames, i dont blame them for re-using..so, yep

  • I remember noticing the similarities in the Jungle Book/Sword of The Stone movements (the trip scene, and the swinging the weapons), and the dance that both Duchess from Aristocrats and Marian from Robin Hood did, but I wasn't aware of the others. O_O Whoa!

  • Have you ever made an animation? If not, you might not know how time consuming it it. It also saves lots of money to reuse animations.

  • @supersmashbros596 thats the whole point. They didnt mean to CHANGE the movie! Just made it in 3D experience! -.- drink some milk.

  • You're the lazy ones! With your computers, GSM, telephones, wireless internet, Ipods, E-mail,....

    That's lazy! We're all lazy!

  • Disney was not lazy. The redo-ing of scenes was because of budget constraints, even though it barely saved any time or money and in the long run takes more effort. The major pass for reusing a scene I'll give is for Kaa when he slithers away with his coils all tangled. Many people do not realize how complicated that whole slither is to animate. It probably took weeks to plan that out correctly.

  • still they rerelease the lion king (which is a good movie) gets releleased WITH NO CHANGES TO IT is pretty darn lazy. i dont have any probs with the movie but disney is clearly willing to whore out anything for money.

  • HA! thumbs up if you agree the end is the BEST part!

  • its for kids, would you have noticed as a kid??

  • how is that lazy? it's smart and a time saver. even if they use the same outline or whatever for the people, they still have to draw the background and everything else. that is FAR from lazy.

  • If this was just called "Disney Frames Re-Used", it would have been totally cool.

  • Lazy??? No, it's more like you're stupid.

  • and nothing of value was lost. no seriously no one noticed! my favorite movie is robin hood and even i admit it was all cut and paste.

  • back when most of these were created animation costs were exspensive and involved so studios often reused animations and scenery. Thats how we got the scrolling backgrounds of the flintstones. We take big box office animated things for granted now a days.

  • I don't see anything wrong with reusing animation, the movies are for children not for people to pick apart. They help build character and morals in children, didn't you watch any as a child? Leave Disney alone already!

  • i wish people would shut up a) about Disney being lazy and b) Disney is stupid and all that other mean stuff about Disney. I still watch Disney films, so? They are not lazy, just saving money - God!

  • I don't think Disney is being lazy but people should shut up claiming Japanese animators are bad when they have to work with a tight budget

  • i see the hand of the illuminati here. Bwahahahaha!

  • Like so many people have said, it isn't lazy, Walt Disney went through a financial difficulty and had to reinvernt old footage, plus the fact that Robin Hood was the last movie that was made with him alive, he died b4 it was finished, so yh

  • @NinjaStarfish94 Walt was long dead by that time. The Jungle Book was finished after his death, and The Aristocats was the first film to be made without him overseeing it (hence the beginning of the 22-year Disney slump.)

  • What a SHITTY song...

  • theres even more

  • Whoever realized this has WAY too much time on their hands.

  • You have too much time on your hands.

  • Animation takes a lot of time to do right and it is expensive. You say they are lazy, well screw you. The Disney animators put their hearts and souls into their creations and they deserve more respect than that.

  • DEE DEE DEE YOU CAN'T SAY THAT CARLOS

  • THEY DID THAT ON PURPOSE, you idiots.

  • Fuck Disney

  • that is too funny

  • this is awesome. Ive been noticing this myself, but it doesnt mean i hate dinsney.

  • if you think disney is lazy, then YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW LAZY other cartoon making companies are lazy. the re use like a motherfucker

  • Lots of these movies were in the period right before the Disney renissance, when they had a tight budget. Of course the best option was to cut costs and reuse things! And besides, they did such a good job that it's not noticable to those who aren't TRYING to find something to bash.

  • You know hand-drawn animations is harder than any animation to make so Disney isn't lazy, just genius...

  • All who are quick to bash Disney for reusing animation are ignorant. A few seconds of animation are the product of days of work. The old process (before computers came into play in The Great Mouse Detective) was much more time-consuming than modern animation. Yet the convenience of computer animation has replaced the painstaking process of hand-drawn animation, giving testament to the true talent and exquisiteness of classic animation, which, because of its difficulty, has yet to be emulated.

  • hahahahaha

  • Do you realize how much time and money Disney had to use to draw every single frame in their movies? I'm sure everyone on the team looked for opportunities to reuse things, which even then had to be reworked.

  • XD thats disney for ya

  • tell you what, considering the the time frame between some of these movies if you was alive when the first animated Disney film was made or released until now. I watched every single one and if you never realized that some of the scenes where reused in the different features then I'd say that Disney did a pretty good job.

  • same as avater... it is just pocohontas etc remade

    who cares

  • i completly agree with mc1186, i think considering the work that went into these animations and the fact that 95% of people dont know that some scenes have been reused, its not lazy at all... disney is for kids not for fussy people ready to call them uncreative and lazy.. and i dont hear the kids complaining... i actually find it interesting to learn that they did this, and i think it was a good idea...

  • This isn't lazy. It's genius, and saved loads of work and money, without causing any problems except for to those who want to see problems.

    Bravo to disney!

  • @PinkOnBlack The problem is that a "new" movies are coming out with half-assed animation.

  • You only notice this kind of stuff if you're really looking for it. A testament to the artists skills.

  • if you knew actually how much work this takes to make u wouldnt be saying shit about it

  • haha i think its cool. clearly a sensative subject to some people :P

  • they are not lazy ... animation is one of the hardest thing to make in the world...btw even he used to same sequence ...he had to redraw all the frames again anyway.... how the fuck is that lazy?!!

  • Yeah, but some hole clips (atleast 10 minutes) are the same exact animation. It's just like the same film with different charectors.

  • wow your so wrong, theyve only had one original idea that theyve applied to 3+ movies and havent changed it a bit how isnt that lazy or uncreative think before you say shit like that again

  • no, im not, they had more then one.......the adventures of Ichabod Crane Mr Toad and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs are two different movies......I happen to know alot on this subject matter......its not lazy.......the movies that have reused sequences are from the late 60's and 70's when the animated features were losing money and after Walt Disney passed away....

  • Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is from 1937 and The Adventures of Ichabod Crane Mr Toad is from 1949.....big gap between using footage.......I do think before I say this....I happen to know alot about this subject matter...only thing I really take pride in

  • 1. Do you realize the amount of effort that went into each hand drawn film.

    2. Whats wrong with readapting footage that worked so well? Idea's don't have to die and can be applied to many different things

    3. films today should rightfully be called lazy;CGI, as cool as it is, does not take as much effort as traditional 2d animation

so, do your research before you go bashing works of art.

  • So, you're the CEO who approved these animation repeats at Disney? Cost cutting was it? CGI takes as much if not more effort to create as 2D.

  • Actually, no, I'm just talking about Historical facts. Wolfgang Reitherman, one of the 9 Old Men, DID worked these into the films. Time CGI can be crapped out ( not saying Pixar movies are not awesome, THEY ARE, the story is what makes those movie amazing.) the animation is awesome because of the ability to make it very realistic....

  • Comment removed

  • yeah, it was actually one animator who always pushed reusing animation, his name was Wolfgang Reitherman, he was one of Disney's Nine Old Men.

  • Hee-hee!

As others have said, I don't blame Disney for reusing animation owing to low budget and all, but I still love comparing these things :P Amazing that there can be so many repeats

  • The films that reused animation are primarily from the same era, when Disney animation had no money.

  • just HAD to throw carlos mencia in there huh? lol

  • that animation was very expensive and time consuming. giving animated bits to clean up artists to change the character models of previously animated scenes kept them from going bankrupt. It wasn't lazy, just smart.

  • how many feature films have you animated?

or is that not in your job description at mcdonalds

  • Nice editing with this.

  • YES THANK GOD SOMEONE FINALLY SAW THE FREAKIN JOKE THEIF!!!! adding this to favorites!!

  • lol thts awesome
