Such a great ceremony. What emotion Boom-Boom's wife must have felt, seeing her husband's number raised to the rafters the day he died and in unison with the number of her father, one of the all-time greatest ever and someone she lost at such a young age. Tell me any other franchise that can boast of such a moment.
Thank you for this; I'm in L.A. and wouldn't have seen it otherwise. I watched Boom Boom play many times; he once graciously gave me his autograph right after a game. What a shock that he died the morning of this ceremony retiring his jersey number. It is indeed disgraceful that Canadiens management waited so long to honour one of the club's very greatest. As I've been a Canadiens fan since 1953, the Boomer has my gratitude for many memories--and goals. Peter Young, Canadiens fan since 1953
Thanks for posting this. I finally got to see it. Was living in Vancouver when it took place and but there was a Toronto game or practise or maybe it was Ty Domi's birthday or something so we never got to see it. Cheers.
I remember reading the newspaper at my work, and shedding a fewtears... then later again as I tried to explain to my GF (an american) just what it meant to us... the habs..... I had missed the game and ceremonies.. now 6 motnhs later you give me a chance to see it.. thank you
PS altho why is the audio so bad ?
RIP boomboom..promised furfilled your jersey now hangs with your step dad among the greatess.
it's amazing that a { the CBC didn't even show the broadcast of the event, and B the montreal canadiens organization waited this long to retire his jersey.
Grave erreur! On ne dit pas : Untel, Canadiens de Montréal mais plutôt Untel Canadien de Montréal

It was really cool to see all his old team mates like that. It's sad that they're dying off though.
