I can remember being allowed to stand on the footplate of King Edward 1 when it was in service. That happened at Cardiff General Station (Now renamed Cardiff Central Station). I was allowed to do so as I had won a competition via Hornby. The prize was a tour of the engine sheds and as I said to stand on the footplate of this wonder locomotive, I also blew the whistle. I was about 8 yrs old at the time

Go for the very best you can afford, the likes of Manfrotto with speperate video head. Not cheap but worth it. Cheers.

@itfcsam. Sam - you can pick-up a tripod for a very reasonable price. I've had mine for 6 months or so and have not regrets whatsoever and use it whenever I can.

Yeh im gonna look for one, well definitely get one sometime soon, ready for next year. My Uncle's told me to go HD and to be honest, im happy with the quality I'm getting at the moment. Just need a tripod to hopefully keep things still
