  • I wish I knew more about this group, they're fantastic. Can't get much more information aside from reading the comments, though.

  • master henry gibson on prod and percussion=) knew the man before he passed away.. R.I.P

  • Wow! Blast from the past! I forgot all about Lemuria! Thank you for the uploads!

@themightyzeta: who are you telling to "change your name?" Must not be this group cuz they existed in the '70s BEFORE the current rock group of the same name.

  • what a beautiful tune wow amazing I don't know what to say its amazing

  • Sad to report that Mike Morita who played trumpet on this album had just passed away. RIP Mike.

  • It's amazing what people will lodge in their ears.

  • I can dig this.

  • this gets heavy rotation on my playlist! lucky i have the reissue, albeit on viny!

  • WTF? That is Lemuria?

  • @Vanja617 Not the metal one. LOL

  • I'VE POSTED SEVERAL OTHER LEMURIA SONGS FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT WANT TO CHECK THEM OUT. ENJOY!

  • THEY WERE NOT FROM SEA WIND - BUT KIRK THOMPSON OF KALAPANA DID WRITE AND PRODUCE THIS MUSIC. I HAVE THE WHOLE ALBUM AND WILL POST THE OTHER SONGS.

  • I KNOW THEM PERSONALLY. IT'S A GREAT ALBUM. VERY TALENTED LADIES.

  • Kamuela, do you have the album? If so can you put the rest of the album on U-Tube

This group was originally Sea wind, The lead vocalist and a few others did this album. This is a one of a kind!

  • What's interesting is that this version of "Hunk Of Heaven" is slightly different from the LP version; I can hear some vocal and horn overdubs. Is this a single mix or something?

  • I knew this band personally, and they were the geatest musical entity to come out of Hawaii! The talent in this band was phenomenal.

  • I grew up listening to this band. They're like an island version of Earth Wind & Fire :)

  • produced by master henry gibson .. curtis conga / percussionist.

  • This is a great group, how can you NOT feel the passion and energy? Wasn't Kirk Thompson (original Kalapana member) a producer on this album? I could be wrong but I thought he moved onto or created Lemuria when he left Kalapana? BTW.......Kirk rocked the keyboards back then!!

  • well, this is an obscure soul group from the 1970s that I doubt very much still exists so i think its rather unnecessary.

  • the starting groove is awesome (around 0:40)

.. thanks wefunk for finding this for me:)

    and thanks for upload

  • i always listen to WEfunk radio on itunes in computer class at school just baked right out my fuckin tree lol

  • Love Lemuria, ultra smooth!

  • I Love this! Actually there were 4 ladies, Star Williams, Azure McCall, Mary Lake and Stacie Johnson. They rocked the island. The whole album is great. It's still selling.

  • i know this song from an album called strange games and things.its great.

  • top tune!

  • I saw these guys when I was stationed in Hawaii, sometime in 1979 I think? It was a free performance for the Navy, and they were incredible! I've been looking to hear this song again for over 20 years. Thanks so much!
