  • Hello, i have a problem with the MS1. My mfx lok don't register. And i can't change the parameters of speed, break, delay. Help me!!!

  • @bluesforceband Hi. That has happened to me before, and I know how to fix it. When the "mfx" sign appears and flashes, but the name doesn't come up, then you have to go back thru the MS1's menu to "Preset". When you press that button, then it'll work. If not, then I suggest calling Dr. Tom Catherall (if you're in America or Canada). He helps with all things Marklin!

  • @KingBuick : It could also be possible, that the rails or the the Grinder have bad contact. Firtsly i would clean them with propanol. If the Grinder ist rather old, than take some Abrasive paper. Than go careful over the Grinder. After that clean it with propanol. The problem of mfx is, tat every bit must be exactly send to the station. Decoder and lok are veryfying the machine. That, s why it takes so long. BUT: If one bit is not correct the mfx lok will not befound.

  • @Nightfly1957 I have the new Mobile Station now, and it works great. Some mfx locos take long to get on, but only a few minutes. My new BR 44 set had that problem. It was originally at the default title "Lok-9", but I deleted it, and registered it again, and it was fine.

  • @KingBuick : I also have the MS 2, and it really works fine. You are right some mfx Loks have a problem. It could be possible, that the rails or the the Grinder have bad contact.

  • @Nightfly1957 The way I normally clean my track is with an Alcohol liquid. I cleaned it once when oil got on the rails, and it worked excellently after that.

  • @KingBuick : Than i have no solution, sorry

  • @Nightfly1957 The above-mentioned comment was my solution. I don't know if it works on other layouts. At least that's what one of my dealers recommended to me...

  • @KingBuick : It depends on the Version of the MS. The Software Version can be updated, but not the Hardware Version. Greetings from Bochum, Germany

  • @Nightfly1957 How can I do a Software Update for the MS2? Do these updates add more features to the MS2? Greetings from Washington, DC, USA.

  • @KingBuick : The upgrade makes the Station better and contains more loks, but it must be done by Your local dealer with the CS. New features are not avalaible.

  • @Nightfly1957 Thanks. I don't have the CS2, so I can't really do a Software Update for my MS2. Oh well... Maybe in a few years I'll get the CS2 or something like it. Who knows? :)

  • @KingBuick : I do not have the CS 2, only the MS 2, my dealer updated it for me. The CS 2 i do not need, the MS 2 has enough power to drive 5 - 6 Trains on 30 m carges.

  • @Nightfly1957 I agree. The MS2 is a great run for the money. You can basically get all the features that the CS2 has, except controlling MU trains, two trains at once, and shuttle train functions.

  • @KingBuick : That is correct,my MS 2 with the power box, complete coasted at Ebay 120 EURO. And i also need no booster.

  • Hello, I have just bought an ICE 3MF "Forbach Lorraine" by Marklin on ebay yesterday midnight ! Can't wait for the set to arrive!!

  • @Takanozana Wow! The ICE 3MF is a very nice model, although it doesn't have many sound and light functions. I thought that you said that you were going to buy the Siemens Valero Sapsan model? It has alot more sound and light functions.

  • @KingBuick Hello , the Sapsan model is delayed so I didn't buy it in the end.

  • @Takanozana I see. That's too bad. It looks like it's a great model! Btw, I was in Göppingen the other day. I got the 2009 Marklin Mueseum car there. It's a great set, and the Museum is a great place!

  • @KingBuick But anyway Kingbuick , I bought the train at 376 Euros only !! So I can't complain as you don't usually get this price tag for Marklin ICE 3 trains..

  • @Takanozana and some more this train is equipped with MFX so its really good as MFX have a reputation of pulling the train price upwards..

  • @Takanozana Wow. €375 for the complete ICE 3MF? That is a very good price! Normally it must cost like €800 brand new.

  • @KingBuick No it 's not. It is five part configuration...

  • @Takanozana I know that. What I'm trying to say is that it is very expensive brand new. The last time I checked, it cost US$700 and something on my local dealer's website, which is Helmuts Hobbies.

  • @KingBuick oh.. ok... I understand your point. I will get my Sapsan shortly when it is released..

  • @Takanozana That's great! I hope that it will be a great set. I'll be getting the TGV POS in a few months too, along with the CS2 and a whole bunch of other Märklin trains.

  • @KingBuick Full train set for TGV POS (10 carriages) ?? BTW , I am trying out something I love!! Catenary.

  • @Takanozana Hell yes! You like catenary? I"m not much of a layout person. I just have my locomotives and track. With the Mobile Station, soon to be replaced with the Central Station.

  • @Kingbuick I will be getting Marklin CS2 , 60VA Transformer , Sapsan, C-Track box sets , 3 more coaches for my ICE 3MF , a ESU Loksound M4 (For my ICE 3 to upgrade better sound), Adapter track for CS2, a station as well.. (That 's enough for my summer shopping list I think..)

  • Hello there! When will you be getting the CS2 ? I am considering to fast upgrade my Delta train layout to CS2 layout ASAP. The manual seems quite hard to read.

  • @Takanozana I will be getting the CS2 in less than one (1) year! It will be one of the first things I will buy for my 18th birthday. The CS2 looks really nice and easy to set up and control. What is complicated about the manual for it?

  • @KingBuick Well. Some function. Anyway, it is easy to use right? So I will buy the CS2 and 60VA transformer and keep them under my bed because I can't use it now as I haven't convert my trains to MFX format.

  • @Takanozana I tried out the new Central Station yesterday and today at the Marklin Store in Amsterdam. It was very nice! I tested out the GG-1 from the USA Starter Set a few years back on it. Plus, I got a new loco! It's the 37575 E 03 loco from last year. Very nice sound!

  • @KingBuick Great!! I will buy it immediately as soon as I can.. So you 're in Amsterdam now ?

  • @Takanozana You'll buy the E 03 or the Central Station as soon as you can? Whichever one it is, they'll be worth it! :) No, I'm not in Amsterdam right now. I'm in Cape Town, South Africa enjoying the 2010 FIFA World Cup!

  • @KingBuick That 's good!!

  • @Takanozana It is good. Thanks!

  • nice, closeups are better :) big changes from when I was young...a 1949 American Flyer 5 car set...small controller but it was great in those days :) is your controller connected to the tracks without much difficulty? and, last question, are all your locos Marklin?

  • @granskare My Mobile Station is very easy to set up to the tracks. Once the tracks have been put down, it takes no time at all to plug in the Mobile Station! All of my locomotives are made by Marklin. Oh, and btw, I might be switching gauges next year.

  • @KingBuick aha, so you are changing your lay out to reflect the differences in gauges between Poland and Russia :)

  • @granskare ? What are you talking about? I might be changing gauges from HO to 1. Marklin's 1 gauge assorsment is really great. Lots of sound and light functions in the locos. Passenger cars have interior lights and market lights. Smoke generators are factory installed. It's really expensive though. That's the problem!

  • @KingBuick just a joke...but it is true that the Russkan, and Finnish, railway gauges are wider so trains from Poland to Russia and vice-versa had to change bogies...good luck with new #1 gauge...I'd not known of it before now. You might google for smoke generators you can make for yourself....bye
