Awesome! I recorded this song off the radio (Lewis & Clark College's KLC a.m.) in 1988 or 1989, and it was always a favorite, even though I never know who did it. And now I convert it and have it in my library, instead of wondering which of the hundreds of cassettes it's on.
@TwitchMD I think I paid that much for the vinyl as an import new release way back ouch nearly 25 years ago It was so way ahead of its time but only a few really got that at the time.
You know, I saw them play at the Metro in Chicago in '89 or so. Lydia Lunch was there too. And for this old timer, I guess you kind of figured you'd never see them again.... I still got the 12 inch. This is awesome to see this
if the singer would be able to call himself one this was one of my all time favs. but this fault makes a great song disapear behind other great tracks of the 90's. but the music is great however.
was lucky enough to see these boys back in the day. underage and really drunk, seems to be fairly close to what i recall. missed the films of richard kern but saw lydia unch do some raunchy poetry. good times. thanks for the post.
I have seen Jim Thirlwell in Hannover, Germany. He's the master of disaster!

It's like the Birthday Party and Boys Next Door meets Suicide, with a bit of the Sisters of Mercy thrown in for good measure.

@ogami72 I feel ya there. I think I actually watched the VB pilot before I knew Thirlwell was responsible for the tunes.
I was all, "that voice in the background sounds uncannily familiar..."

Wiseblood, by Flannery O'Connor - if you've ever read her stuff, then you know why Jim named this project after her book .

I can't imagine the stuff he's singing being sung in a "better" voice. The lyrics and singing and fitted right to each other!
