  • How is Mari any better than Bodypaint? I'm serious, I'd like to know. So far I haven't heard anything that would be so great about it, everyone says how awesome it is but no one says why.

  • what has this software got that Maxon Bodypaint 3d has not got?

  • @shinjide213 Professionalism.

  • no, UV map has to be created in your modelling program.

  • UV map is generated automatically?

  • Please.......release beta.....soooooooon. This could be SO useful in production right now!!

(P.S. sorry i had a spelling mistake in my first comment, had to remove)

  • I am jealous.

  • Man, I am SO PUMPED for this!! I'm with blesshiscottonsocks, who can test the alpha / beta? I want to get our studio running on this amazing tool!

  • Hi aaron1a12,

The windows version certainly does have a time line, I've just got it hidden in this particular layout.

Pretty much anything in the Mari GUI can be hidden, docked, repositioned or resized. This allows you to devote more pixels to painting when you need to.

    Thanks for the comments.

  • Looks pretty awesome, just like the one used by Weta. But one worries me; I believe Mari is supposed to have a timeline so, where is it? Is it hidden or something? Or does Windows simply does provide the capabilities necessary to support this amazing feature?

  • Great that this is comming to Windows as well! The foundry rocks!

  • Oh yes! This is MOST exciting!

  • ps - is that occlusion baked or realtime?

  • @cgbeige by looking at the texture maps that they showed here, it seems to be realtime. I wonder what kinda pc you need to run this...

  • @cgbeige

In this particular setup the AO is baked per vertex by Mari's built in AO renderer. This can be easily converted into a texture map if required by baking out the shader.

  • I'll be at Siggraph shaking my fist for a Mac version

  • Who will the beta be open to?

    i love this so much...
