  • hi! can you tell me the chords used in this song? or some easy chords to play? also, what does 'teinu' mean? thanks!!!

  • shalom, I tried to find the lyrics and an english translation to this song.

Can you tell me what the lyrics say?

  • The "song" is the traditional Shema prayer which is found from Leviticus and Matthew remized in a song format, the basics are "Hear Yisrael, Hear Yisrael, The lord our God, (repeat), The Lord is One, the Lord is our Rightousness, the Lord is our Salvation, blessed is the (holy) Name forever and ever. (Literal: Hear Yisrael,Hear Israel, Adonai our God (repeat) Lord One, Lord Salvation, Lord Rightousness, Blessed Holy Name forever and Ever."

  • I have been studying Hebrew at a site called Hebrew4Christians. It's geared at adults and starts with the very basics and you work at your own pace and can go all the way through the Torah. I share because it has done so much for me. John Parsons is the most brilliant teacher I have ever had,bar none. Oh and did I mention it has sound!

  • @strat2caster So, did you brush up on it yet? The comment reads: Todah, Tal chai tov! Shma Yisrael, adonai eloheinu adonai echad! Baruch atta Y'shua.

  • תודה, תל חי טוב! שמע ישראל יי אלוהינו יי אחד! ברוך אתה ישוע!

  • im gonna try my hand at this statement in hebrew.i really need the pointed text.but here goes.Todah tal chai tov! shema Yisrael Eloheinu Echad! Baruch Atah Yeshua!all i can get from this is(.......)(.....)chai=life,tov=good!shema =hear or listen,Yisrael=Israel,Eloheinu=your G_d,Echad=1!Baruch=bless,atah=(....),Yeshua = salvation or the name Jesus

  • Devastatingly attractive.

  • Your daughter is very gifted. I like hearing this version of the song. You are a good Abba!

  • The guy blocking the shot is a real bummer, otherwise it's a good video. Whoever this girl is, she is a hottie.

  • Believing in Yeshua is Very Jewish,

he's the way, the life and the truth.

  • when people believe in bible's god, even killing children becomes moral: Moses was angry with the officers of the army who returned from battle. "Have you allowed all the women to live? They were the ones who followed Balaam's advice and turned the Israelites away from the LORD in what happened at Peor, so that a plague struck the LORD's people. Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man. [Num 31:14-18]

  • I remember hearing this song as a child, but it had a little metal sound to it, can't remember the name of the band. 2nd chapter of acts mabey? not sure, but good job.

  • The original group was "Lamb" with Joel Chernoff and Rick (Levi)Coghill

  • shema israel

  • Belief in Jesus as the Messiah is not Jewish in the least. He simply did not fulfill the requirements to be the Messiah (Ezekiel 37:26-28, Isaiah 43:5-6, Isaiah 2:4, Zechariah 14:9, etc). Furthermore, the concept of the Messiah as G-d is completely antithetical to Torah.

If you want to be Christian, that's your choice. But calling yourself a practitioner of Judaism and believing in Jesus is just fooling yourself. For more on this, I recommend the sites Jews for Judaism and Aish HaTorah.

  • Yeshua himself never claimed to be G-d, he was Messiah. A person can believe Yeshua is the Messiah while practicing Judaism without violating any principles or law.

Also, Rabbinic Judaism always spoke of a two messiah theory... Moshiach ben Yosef and Moshiach ben David. Yeshua fulfilled the role of Moshiach ben Yosef, and will return as Moshiach ben David.

So it is not as unJewish as many think it to be.

  • Ditto!!! It's unfortunate that the teachings of Anti-Judaic Theology have striped Yeshua of His TRUE identity! We can thank the church fathers Eusebis, Origen, Constantine, etc. for that... Yeshua is unrecognizable by some of our Jewish brothers and sisters, however at HaShem's appointed time

the scales from their eyes will be removed.

  • Eusebis and Constantine are not Church fathers you fool!

  • I recommend you not follow this person's advice and continue to follow Yeshua, the Living Torah. HaShem will remove the scales from our Jewish brothers & sisters eyes at the appointed time. It's unfortunate that Anti-Judaic Theology has striped Yeshua of His TRUE identity. Read Isaiah 53, but again the scales will be removed in HaShem's timing.

  • Yeah :( goys are just as bad as non-believers.For they turn Y'shua into Jesus.I know that G-d is the Elohim of Israel and that Yeshua was incarnated into a Jew not a Goy,he fallowed the torah and died on passover yet most goy don't even understand the sigifance of him dieing on passover,it was JUST his blood that saved us,it was that he was the lamb.Pray for the jews and the goys that they return to the True Yeshua and stop Goy-ing it up (Roman Catholism) :( one can't understand the bible

  • @Sievad1991

We who are in Jesus fully understand that Yeshua/Jesus is the passover lamb and that HE is fully Jewish and always will be. We don't get hung up on HIS name, we know it is Yeshua. I for one am glad that the world knows HIM as JESUS, at least when they use it as a swear word, it is twice removed from HIS Hebrew name. (I suppose small minded people don't think of that) Yet HE has commanded us to love you anyway :)

Love from a "goy" grafted into YESHUA by faith in HIM :)

  • @ssigman actually the first followers of Yeshua were monotheistic and believed Yeshua was just simply a man who was the promised Messiah. It was sect of judaism, not everything the sages say is absolute truth.

  • Isn't TallChai awesome?

She used to play lead guitar at my youth group.

  • WONDERFUL! Love the other vids as well but this is my fav. I came from a background of smoke filled rooms, electric guitars and wandering souls. I have to say, I could not deny that I had a cloud keeping me from seeing God. I only knew He wasn't "for" me. He let me see how great he is, I realized my shame of sin. No need for detail, you can imagine.I came to know how He is willing to remove my "sin" if I would TRUST in Messiah Yeshua(Jesus). Now I am happy to follow his Torah. Baruch HaShem!

  • sorry i'm replying so late :( but it's beautiful to hear that yeshua has made such an impact in your life! mazel tov!

  • Nice job on this song. Please check Alan David's web site if you are a Messianic Believer or merely curious... see the link at the videos under "messianic music". Shalom y'all

  • pardon my late reply. thank you so much and i will check out his site!

  • Tov meod! Nice jamming on the Strat too!

  • Praise God I am Gentile but I have been drafted into the inheritance of Israel through one Jew,YESHUA whose I am and whom I serve and love! Praise Jeshua. Thank you for your work M praying for you!

  • mmm i've got to wonder sometimes

  • He's my favorite jew ever!! thank you, your comment is very much appreciated... and your prayers even more!!

  • @tallchai As a Jewish woman, your comment about the one you call "Yeshua" is utterly charming and very disarming! & your voice is beautiful. As a psychologist who works with families and teens, it is wonderful to feel the powerful relationship you have with your father, a gifted artist in his own right. As my mother, and her mother before her, said (although not in English at all :-) "Such mazel you bring!"

  • I love this song!! U have a nice voice!

  • thank you! it's a lot of fun to play.

  • I love that song. God bless and protect Israel more and more. Thank you Jewish people for carrying God word like a torch thruout the centuries, when Europe was still in the dark ages.

  • Sh'ma Yisrael Adonai Eloheinu. Adonai Ehad.

Hear O'Israel The Lord our God, The Lord is one. Deuteronomy 6:4

The Lord's blessings be upon Israel and all that believe and accept His Word.

  • Well done, I love it!

  • do you have the lyrics, i've tried to google and found other lyrics... thnks- Darrin O' of Hoboken, NJ

  • Hey girl, you and your Dad, is it, have just rocked my socks off! Bless you both!

    Shalom,

    Aaron

  • I loved this version of the Sh'ma. Keep on playing! I want to hear more.

  • absolutely outstanding and a blessing - TallChai, your heart is in it and the strumming is excellent, background electric is fitting and does not take away from the main singing and guitar. the song begins with smiling and ends with smiling, bringing glory to God = ) ---awesome!

  • Beautiful! I love it so much!! Praise the Lord who gave us creativity to make such beautiful music

  • I feel that I should point out that in the description the poster claims that the Sh'ma was written by Joel Chernoff. The Sh'ma is in actuality a prayer recited daily. The first two lines being taken from the Torah and expanded in the Tanahk into a long prayer and is very much at the crux of the Mishna. The Tanahk states that these words Sh'ma Yisrael should be spoken "when you lie down and when you rise up".

  • i am definately loving it!

  • Beautiful, beautiful just beautiful.

  • Awesome! I still have a Lamb album or two!

Nice to see another father/daughter team. When I visit my father, we play music together, too! God Bless Y'all.
