I was there and I knew that it was the first public performance Isaac ever had. He did not even play in a recital before this. Isaac was 10 years and one day old, and he was playing on a fractional size (1/2 or 3/4) violin. It would be very hard to out-power the orchestra with such a small instrument. Anyway, it was a youth orchestra, and I think the music director or/and the conductor should be paying more attention to this situation. The orchestra was not guilty.
not bad for the soloist. that's great potential. It's not perfect but his sound was beautiful either way. Shame on the orchestra though, for not knowing to tone down their volume so the soloist could be heard loud and clear, and for being so out of tune themselves
@classifieds103 I was there and knew that it was the first time ever Isaac performed in public. He had not even played in recital before this. Isaac was 10 years and one day old at the time (officially 11 year old), and he was playing on a 1/2 or 3/4 violin. It is hard to out-power the orchestra with such a small instrument. It was an youth orchestra too. To be honest, I think the music director and the conductor need to pay more attention to this situation, the orchestra is not guilty.
Bravo Isaac! You demonstrate great Poise as a Soloist, Excellent Bow Control, Memory, Tone Quality and Solid Intonation. My wife and I congratulate you on a very enjoyable performance of the 1st Movement of Viotti's Concerto.

he's really good for his age. if his violin was bigger he would be louder, but other then that good job.

@My3HappyKids It was a remarkably good 3/4 size violin, and one I didn't get all I could have out of it.
