I just found out about Jero today, and just hearing a few seconds of his soothing voice and seeing his handsome face made me a huge fan. Wow~I've never been a fan before...... Feels good ._.
I'm mos def proud of this young brotha! But he did downplay the issue of the discrimination of foreigners and specifically Black ppl here in Japan. Ppl always try to say that you wouldn't know if a Japanese person is treating you bad because of your race. That's bullshit! Every single time I've been discriminated against here my color/race was always apart of the insult. I've been called "kurombo" (Japanese word for "nigger") at least 7x. I understand why he downplayed it though.
Lol wowwww, i remember when I was a kid, my grandma used to play this kind of enka music all the time!! i never knew what it was called and stopped hearing it once she moved back to Taiwan. what a trip!!! I will have to buy her one of his CD's for her birthday fsho.

@wasabiwild Nonsense. She merely brought up a lot of questions that are always talked about when discussing Japan. I've heard that no matter how much you integrate into Japanese society they still never fully accept you as one of them. Jero seems to be totally aware of this and has not only made the adjustment one needs to make (you either do that or you feel like discrimination is a yoke around your collar) but he has capitalized upon it. Good for him! I'm proud of the guy.
