@k73f All gut. With no winding on the top two it's hard to tell but they look like pure unwound gut. The bottom two look like Pirastro Eudoxa (possibly pirastro chorda but too hard to tell with the colour on my computer).

Just this evening i'm going to play (in orchestra) with her, she plays Saint Saens concert! yesterday we did an only one-day rehersal and her playing of this concert is incredibly amazing!!! i didn`t know her before, but now i think she's one of the best living cellist! and she also seems a very nice and enjoyable person!

Wenn nur Puristen die "wahre Kunst" zu schätzen wissen, bringt das keine Verkaufzahlen, zumal jene lieber ins Konzert gehen, als sich ne CD zu kaufen. Simplifikation ist wichtig, damit die Musik auch unstudierten Menschen näher gebracht werden kann. Der Versuch, mehr Menschen zur Klassik zu führen, ist lobenswert, dieser Beitrag hilft dabei.

ich hatte letzte Woche das wirklich große Vergnügen Sol live zu erleben.

Es war wirkich eines meiner schönsten musikalischen Erlebnisse.

Sie ist eine der wenigen Menschen die ein Instrument wirklich zum Leben erwecken können.

Man kann diese fantastische Musikerin ohne weiteres in einem Atemzug mit Größen wie Yo-Yo Ma, Lang Lang oder Anne-Sophie Mutter vergleichen.

Ich hoffe (und bin mir sicher),daß wir noch viel von Sol Gabetta hören werden.
