AH! TOOO MUCH! The AMAZING chart show and the video for Baby Ford's Oochy Koochy! I nearly followed through, which - funnily enough- is exactly what the bassline made you do in a club, it's totally wasted on your laptop! 21 years to see a video for one of my favourite ever tracks!
So this was from the two-part era, was it 5.30 & 6.30? Why ever did they split it up? What was so important that it had to be on in the middle? Was it around the news at 7?
I vaguely remember a video (as in movies) review programme being on between the two halves of the Chart Show, hosted by the very annoying Gary Crowley called 'Revid'. So there was no good reason why it was split into two separate bits, as they decided in the end!
Destroy the Heart by House of Love must either have had a long stay in the chart, or been reissued a couple of months later, as it was still around in the Indie Chart in early 1989 (as previously uploaded by 23Daves).
The Vault is terrible these days. Totally ruined by too many post2000 videos. I have virtually stopped watching it except for sometimes on Tuesday and Wednesday night.
I love how 'The Only Way is Up' by Yazz was down in the charts that week.

@TeeNefarious Psychic TV. Side project of industrial pioneers Throbbing Gristle. They dabbled in acid house for a while I believe :P

actualy nearing the end of the 80's a new music phenomenon
was born acid house and techno music start to dominate
disco night clubs so you are right on the money there.

Chart show was actually GOOD when it was on C4. Soon as it moved to ITV, they dumbed it down and turned it into a kids show.

The songs at 10-6 on the indie chart are all great, it loses the plot a bit after that though, although it's a decent no. 1 from Sugarcubes

The Transvision Vamp song kicks huge ass and I use to have a thing for Wendy James in those short jeans.

I know. I just wish The Vault would bring the repeats back. The only thing I genuinly looked forward to watching.

The Vault definatly shows far too much recent stuff, but I'd still say it's better than most of the other music channels out there.
If they bought back The Chart Show repeats then they could show McFly on a constant loop the rest of the time and I'd still respect them ;)

Excellent! I remember watching these shows on a Friday evening on C4, I just wish I taped them then. The chart show was big back then as I remember.
