@Sunburn2007 From now on, I'm just going to delete and block these tired comments that keep arguing about the same old issues that I've already explained numerous times.
Very talented group of guys here! And for everyone talkin bout the u.s. flag in front, just rewatch the video... 3 yankees, and more Confederates than I could count! No one wants to be yankee these days, we should be satisfied with that. :P Hope to see y'all at some events ~Pvt. 17th VA inf. Co. B "Warren Rifles"
FROM ORIGINAL POSTER: People, the purpose of this video is to showcase the Field Music, the Carolina Fifes and Drums, NOT to debate the causes of the American Civil War or insult reenactors. As already mentioned in one of the first comments this video was shot at a modern-day memorial parade honoring both Union and Confederate, not a typical reenactment. The US flag is at the front, but the CS flag is there too, just not as visible because the camera was focusing on the musicians only.
@Nogger86Germany nope, well i kinda take the still used today back, it was used until the war of 1812 but the basics i think are still used today... some movements are similar but like most things they are.... i guess you could say "americanized"
The second one is the german "Yorksche Marsch" of the Wachbataillon, the elite guard of the republic. I think it was written by Ludwig van Beethoven after the war against Napoleon.
i would love to participate in this , i had many family members die in the civil war that i can trace back to , mostly because they were paid to take the place of rich folk from new york ... great video , thank you!
Could you please list the tunes played in order? I see that Jefferson & Liberty and United States March last. And Prince Eugene may have been one of them? Thanks!
It was a modern-day memorial parade, honoring both sides. The confederate color guard was further back, but this video is only focusing on the field music at the front.
