Nillin nigh Shadow Bruised by the moons kettle Lipstick islander ( I learned to)replaced When the poke lifted Dogs and frogs lifted Barked and brothered round your face Do dog silly goose Why did you hide behind centuries of shame So (soon) splendid the moose (moves) Turkey-back vultures that waited For your death
Okay, now that I listen to it, it does sounds like "bad". I just didn't have a set list or know anyone who did, so I had to go on what made more sense. I stand corrected.
Sufjan's setlist onstage reads "Jupiter Bad June." So unless he mis-wrote his own song title, I'd assume it safe to say the title is Jupiter Bad June.
Apparently, the month of June is named after Juno, the wife of Jupiter. So I'm going to go against what the title says right now (Jupiter Bad June) and say the lyric is Jupiter and June, although Sufjan never gave us an actual title for the song.
Don't know the title, but more like Jupiter AND June if anything. Second of all, he did say the song was written about 10 years ago in a series of "silly songs" about the planets, this one about a confrontation between Jupiter and Pluto, which Sufjan noted is now a "celestial body". He did in fact say it was the "world debut". I love the song, and I hope he uses it on an album, or heck, releases the thing on the planets. I'm sad his show before this one was his last as Majesty Snowbird.
I believe he said this was the premier of this song, so I think it is a brand new song. It was a string quartet in the backround, the whole thing is just beautiful.
Does anyone have a clue as to which song this is? I've heard quite a bit of Sufjan and I'm half tempted to say that this might be a brand new song. I like it though. The tempo is an interesting plod, like the song is walking one step at a time. The violins (Cellos? Sorry, not an expert on stringed instruments) in the background add this sort of sad ambiance to it all.
Nice song, but sounds a lot like Satie's Gymnopedie no. 1.

this and the other new one are definitely representative of a new side of mr. sufjan's repertoire. definitely a different musical sound/feel.
and yeah those are def. cellos, and then violins come in at about 2:43

Someone left me a message saying it was an unreleased song called "Barn Owl, Night Killer," but I still can't find it online anywhere.
