David has been on Jools SEVERAL times over the years and I think David messes with him every single time. What else is the guy to do anyway, with an interviewer who cannot really interview because he doesn't really know anything about anything? Hilarious. Thanks @VampireBowie!
This bothers me so much. It's like Jools thinks he's crazy or something, so he just "plays along" with everything he says, just letting him talk so he'll get it out of his system. Meanwhile, David just keeps going, hoping that SOMEBODY will figure out that this is a joke, and that Bing Crosby did not, in fact, sing Scary Monsters and go on tour with him.
I love how he comments a clip from 1977 with Scary Monsters (1980) and the "rest of the Station To Station tour" (1976). I'm sure he is doing it deliberately haha.

He's joking and it doesn't matter whether the interviewer has knows it or not, he'll go on until they get a clue that he's messing with them. It takes awhile with most of them. Credit to Jools for "Was that before or after he died?".
I'm with you. David is joking. That is his humor. He's a great storyteller. And you have to love his accent. I'm sure everyone caught it when he said "pose"
I love his accent! I melt whenever I hear his voice. I didn't catch the "pose" thing... I mean, I heard it but I don't know what everyone means about what he said...
