Why is a video about a dead coral reef ground to religious discussions? It's true that no-one could prove there is a god, but on the other hand, no-one could prove that there isn't either. That's why it's called "believing".

But I agree that God isn't going to help us with these problems. It's sad that such a beautiful reef died. But as it is normal that our planet has cooler and hotter phases troughouth the centuries, I wonder if this phenomenon is really our fault and not natural.

I do beleive that humans can prevent/allow global warming, but we have no evidence to say that this was cause my something that humand did. It's out in the middle of the ocean, and the water temp rose. When will stop blaming everything on global warming. This looks like a natural phenomana to me. Mother nature works in mysterious ways.

CO2 would not be a problem if the deforrestation was not occuring. This removal of the massive plant life reduces the photosynthesis action. As the level of CO2 has increased, the reaction of the CO2 with H2O in the atmosphere produces carbonic acid. The acid added to the ocean has caused the existing calcium levels to be reduced as it reacts to neutralize the acidic levels. The loss of calcium causes the animal life that absorbs calcium for reef & shell growth to suffer.

I think that saying outright that Climate change isn't real is silly but, the idea that humans are the ones entirely responsible is also dumb. The the earth has survived and changed throughout billions of years. I mean, the Sahara desert use to be an oasis, but through natural climate change, turned into what it is now. even if what humans are doing now is affecting the environment, the natural world (and humans.) won't die, because they are both adaptable.the environment will adapt to change.

That's a very hopeful line of thought, but reality has to kick in somewhere. Dumping of thousands and thousands of gallons of toxins into the oceans on a regular basis obviously has effects on the ocean. There are several areas of the oceans which are non-habiital by ANY animal. And since osmosis acts extremely quicly in water, the effects are quickly shown. Saying habitats wont die is ignorant, as this video, and any current scientific literature will show.

2. You are coming to a conclusion that global warming did this, but offer no evidence other than a temperature chart. Maybe the flying spaghetti monster did it.

3. This is anecdotal evidence not a canary in a coal mine.

While they may be wrong, I believe this certainly means global warming is not undeniable.

the only thing wrong with what your saying, is that O-zone can replenish itself, just not at an extremely fast rate. Volcanoes dont produce enough Co2 to cause global warming, and the sun burning grass doesnt either, if humans hadnt started burning fossil fuels the earth would have a natural cycle, the O-zone would be naturally damaged, but then replenish itself.

well, if u really want to get into it,

in the normal state, the greenhouse gas effect creates a sheild that makes the sun heat energy into our atmosphere and moves the rest out of our atmosphere. and when the gas in this sheld are increased, it gets trapped in our atmosphere making the world cook.

i guess there is no chemical reaction but the gas that is most identified causing the global warming effect is probably, carbon dioxide. Carbon monoxide comes out of cars, (i think CO can kill you)
