Before the Nintendo DS had two screens, the Multi-Screen series of Game & Watch handhelds had them. Not only that, but Nintendo DS's two-screen design was also inspired by the last three arcade games Nintendo independently created (Punch-Out!!, Super Punch-Out!! and Arm Wrestling), as well as the Virtual Boy (which uses two screens to create a 3D effect).
