I'm not an expert but I do know the difference between a psychic and a medium. Psychics predict future events. Mediums communicate with the deceased. I wouldn't go as far as to say there are no psychics, I speak from experience that there are real psychics, clairvoyants and mediums. These "psychics" that you see on tv are most of the time fraudulent, they're out there to take advantage of all of you for a quick buck. A real psychic won't do it for the money, they help people because it is their purpose to do so, a purpose that's enforced with their talent.
