BBC thought they would be clever and try and replace her. Though Kate was clearly interested in Allan untill suddenly in episode 9 where she was vesotted by Robin. I think the BBC got a load of complaints sent to them about it. It jst wasn't planned at all and the whole Robin/Kate storyline just looked totally improvised.

What you could do is edit together all of Kate's most annoying scenes in which she's screeching and nagging at everyone - then have Marian spin round with a dagger in her hand (the scene from "Get Carter" when she's practicing knife-throwing and almost hits Allan) and then cut back directly to Kate falling down with a knife in her gut (followed by cheering crowds). That would be awesome!
