  • I have a Mastercraft snowblower from the 80's that looks just like yours. I got an "o" ring (part# 631028A) because I did not see one when I took off the bowl. I am working on this with the carberator still installed, snowblower is on it's side. I cant put the ring on the carb like you did but it fits perfectly inside the bowl. When I put it on it that way it leaks where it meets the carb. Is this the correct "o" ring that I'm using? Yours seems to be tubular while # 631028A has squared edges.

  • @osityan i put the ring on the carb first then the bowl. the ring is kinda square on the edges, sometimes you have to pull it a bit to make it go around the carb

  • @donyboy73

If I try to put the ring on the carb first, the bowl doesn't go over it well. I'll have to try it again. Is the "O" ring there to stop that area from leaking? That must be the source of my leak.... :(

  • @osityan definitely has to be there to prevent leakage

  • @legareherve You suck dick and ass.....

    Donyboy73 channel rocks

  • i have the same carb and i dont know anything about carbs and you helped me alot

  • @legareherve i wouldn't work for you anyway, at least i'm helping other people with my 560 videos and 6500 subscribers

  • @legareherve that's funny I get job offers all the time

  • psssssst, bro! If the gloves are falling apart, they are doing you no good. :-D Thanks for the information though, and very well photographed! Good job man!

  • @Landotter1 lol

  • It's cool you'd post a video like this. Why is the spring, which part# 632386 not used here? This spring goes in between the posts around the float pin. I do not see any difference with or without it. I've also seen another video which also did not use it. I also noticed in the videos that I have seen that no one has replaced the needle seat. With the right tool, (which I had to make) made it easier to install. Without it, it would've been impossible without damage.

  • @zman2403 i mostly see the spring in the small toro snowblowers

  • can you give me a number i can look up

  • @1946santana usually number 632347

  • @1946santana check out roncocenter . com

  • where can i find the carburetor number for my 8hp tecumseh engine

  • @1946santana you have to identify the model and serial number on ur engine first then go to partstree dot com

  • @1946santana

there are also many on ebay

  • Great job, thank you. I just rebuilt my carb and couldn't figure out the needle! You make it easy. Best to you.

  • @rover2007514 thanks for watching

  • can i get a part number for a rebuild kit please,thanks

  • @camry01 632347

  • hello,, what do i do if its running to rich,,i mean it starts and runs fine but the muffler glows and eventully starts to idle funny,i know its runing ritch but how do i fix this, thanks

  • @camry01 if the muffler glows red then it is running too lean, u need to turn out the bottom screw

  • thanks, was having trouble with mine, found out I had bent the spring taking out the valve. Your video showed what it should look like and I was able to fix it. Thanks!

  • Thanks for the tutorial man. You saved me some grief today!

  • I have a craftsman snow king with tecumseh and it seems to be leaking oil ...help

  • @fredbrill1 can u send a video or some pictures?

  • if i need to adjust the float, how do i adjust it? do i bend the small wire clip or the flap of the float? beacause i have installed a rebuilt kit on mine and also put in a bowl without a drain as i had trouble of gas pissing, but still have this problem. seems to come out the side vent the little tiny hole on the side of the carburator

  • @diftoyota adjust the tab on the float, go to my channel and type in "tecumseh carburetor repair" in some of those videos i show how to do that

  • @donyboy73 i already bent the metal wire now will need to strait it out again. i should wait for you to reply lol. thank you very much

  • @diftoyota yes or get a new one

  • if i need to adjust the float, how do i adjust it? do i bend the small wire clip or the flap of the float?

  • @diftoyota

This is where you have to put the float back in place, move the float up & down and watch with keen eye what it's doing.

You'll see the wire spring does nothing but help pull the needle back with the float.

Easy to see tab on float bump/ stops against needle.

If Tab changes, so will float angle when it stops against needle.

Now the float is either too high, or low.

Never touch this tab and all will be OK.

The Tab cannot bent by itself, unless carb fell with bowl off.

  • You wouldn't happen to have the part number for the carb kit and float for that one? The S/N plate on mine is gone. Thanks for the video, made cleaning mine a breeze. Still stalls out when you put it under heavy load or throttle up to fast and the bowl is leaking. Float does not look right compared to yours in the video. I think some body has bent float where the pin sits.

  • @lawdawg1942 i think the kit # is 632347 and the float 632019a

  • @donyboy73 Thanks mate. Runs like a top now!

  • Have you experienced problems with the throttle shaft return spring and are there any videos available talking about these and other springs ?

  • @garyb2006 what i have is this HOW TO REPLACE Snowblower Throttle Spring

  • how do you adjust the distance between the carburetor and the float?

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you. Your video helped me troubleshoot my Mother in Law's Craftsman 5 hp snow blower. I found a small hole in the float and fixed it with a drop of solder. I used a heat gun outside to evaporate the gas inside of the float very carefully so as not to have it blow up. Cleaned the brass and soldered it cleanly. This is what the internet was made for. Bill in NJ

  • Can you use part #670377 for briggs and stratton mowers?

  • @TrackEmDownKennels if it fits in the hole yes u can

  • @donyboy73 thanks

  • Now what about the check valve inside the casting, if that seizes it's basically junk right? I have a few that have varnished very badly or corroded from water and no matter what they will not run after cleaning them up good. If there is a way of freeing it, let me know. My snowblower is a Jacobsen Impereial 30 with a 8 horse techumseh.

  • my engine blows on mine the carb needs to be taken off and cleaned.

  • Very nice of you to put this stuff out there to help all us do it your self guys. Most trades men will tell you how they did somethings after you have paid.

  • @a6eman ur welcome man, you can thank me by telling your friends about my channel

  • This video doesn't seem to be working now.

  • oh sorry man I left that comment before watching the whole thing!! i see you have the adjustment tool. great video and sorry for the dumb question

  • how is the float adjusted? to level ? or is there a SPEC. GOOD VIDEO

  • great stuff

  • How do you remove the little valves/circle things inside of the carb? Do you just pry them up or is there a method to do it?

    Thanks

  • @Geminimissions with a sharp object, but don't go in too deep then pry it out. that will be a video i can make soon

  • @donyboy73 I got them out, but now the new ones dont snap in, do I have to pound/force tham in?

    Thanks

  • @Geminimissions set it in the hole then use a flat punch to punch it a bit down so it expands and becomes tight

  • @donyboy73 One final question for your expertise... How come once I get running at high idle and try to move it down it'll die at one spot with no other fires and will just be like you hit the kill switch?

Thanks (its nice to have an expert answer your questions, all of the small engine shops around here dont want anything to do with you if your not buying anything)

  • @Geminimissions u probably need to adjust the idle screw on the side of the carb

  • @donyboy73 thats what I mean though, I turn it down some and it will just die

  • i have that same carburetor except the bowl on my carb has an extra screw with a spring on it . where can i get a rebuild kit for that type carburetor ?!!!!1

  • @atoxx1 from a small engine shop

  • oh i never wear gloves when im working on a motor....i get better grip without gloves

  • i hae a carb cleaning video upload....ill make one tommorrow of how to reassemble the card.....mine is really dirty....i think it mght be shot...but i give evry carb 1 chance.....so..sub please

  • I have the same problem as dhiskey4u. I blew compressed air thru the fuel inlet. Could I have blown out the seat? What material is the seat made of? I noticed in your disassembly video you used a tool and it took somewhat of a pull to remove it. When I look in the hole I see something metallic with a coneshaped hole. When I drop the needle in the hole by itself, it bottoms out deeper than when it is attached to the float.

  • it could have. the seat is made of viton rubber

  • i did this and reinstalled it and gas wont stop flowing through the carb what is wrong its seems like that little plumb bob kinda thing is not sealing in the float area please help thanks.

  • make sure the needle seat is installed properly

  • I just bought a snow blower this year..can I add carburetor cleaner to gasoline to prevent build up??

  • not necessary

  • I had pulled my carb off a 9 hp, cleaned the carb and reassembled. Still would't idle. watched your video and noticed I had missed cleaning the idle jet on the main jet. Thank you.

  • good job

  • 5 stars !!
