  • @andreleger2001 where can I find this ammo?

  • just bought a box here in Argentina

  • @shootcentermass

The bullet in the FBI shootout you mention was a 9 mm 115 grains Silvertip that went through the BG forearm and ribcage and it stopped 1 inch from his heart and it did expand, this one being heavier and in a more powerful caliber like the 357 magnum would have probablly penetrated more IMHO

  • I have to ask the obvious... Will this kill a werewolf?

  • I wonder what the attraction is of making the bullet silver?

  • whats th difference in these and the silver box of silver tips personal defense

  • @manostihl Nothing as far as I know just a package change. This is the older version of packaging.

  • for as much as these rounds cost i expected better. everywhere i look they the high end of all the hollow points in terms of cost and to just fragment. glad i didn't buy any.

  • Fragmented. Hmmm

  • Before I retired from law enforcement this was the load issued. I don't know the speed, but it was definitely a stout load. We had switched from Federal 125 grain in pursuit of greater penetration. Only shooting I witnessed was a close range head shot. Very nasty with brain matter sprayed throughout the suspect's vehicle.

  • Cool, nice round if you can find em.

  • This is a great round, but does Winchester still make it? I'm down to my last box and I've been looking for more for five years! It used to be easy to find.

  • @flashbulbnut It is still listed on Winchester's website. I am assuming it is still being loaded. Generally, manufacturers will make a run of ammo and then retool their machines to a new load. The changing takes down the line and stops production, so they will make ammo in large batches to reduce downtime. Perhaps they have not done a run of this ammo in a while and it is becoming scarce. I have not seen it for sale in a while either.

  • Can this ammo be a good self-defense round?

  • @Mr291229 Yes this round is quite effective and would do fine for self defense.

  • @Mr291229 hell yes, it can kill a werewolf lmao. jk, i know its not real silver.

  • I don't want to sound stupid but are the bullets real silver that other silver tip balisticks also I was wondering how close you are shooting for the splatter test

  • @mshipsky No they are not real silver. It is an aluminum alloy jacket. The splatter tests are shot at about 10 yards.

  • @mshipsky lol hey I'm glad someone asked, i was wondering the same thing.

  • You should do a glase blue video. I know it leaves nothing to retrieve but it blowse apart water jugs like you wouldn't believe.

  • @smartguy104 I have some in my test box for next time.

  • Does this round work on werewolves?

    :P

  • The normal copper jacket is made of some type of aluminum alloy on this round and not silver. I think mythbusters actually tried to make a silver bullet to test and they found it to be a poor metal for bullet making.

  • Oh really? Cool. I haven't watched Mythbusters in such a long time. I miss that show.

Thanks for the info. Great tests. Keep 'em coming.

  • @andreleger2001 Ya silver is very hard it would probly be a bit dangerous to the barrel soft medals like tungusten, lead, copper, & even gold are known to be best for ammunition.

  • @smartguy104 silver is not very hard, on the other hand tungsten is extreamly hard.

  • @1ohtaf1 tungusten is usually used for its weight and jacketed with copper or something along those lines these are made out of some sort of aluminum alloy.

  • @smartguy104 I know, tungsten is hard and silver is soft.

  • @perspicacity89 i was about to ask same thing LoL

  • Beautiful gun, I was thinking of getting that exact model 686, same barrel length and all! You don't wanna fuck with someone with a .357! Haha! Nice video too, keep it up!

  • Thats exactly what the load is supposed to do...it's not a new age premium bonded bullet...not designed for auto glass, doors, thugs with 4 denim jackets on, etc.

It will hold up well on animals and do its business along the penetration path.

  • damn i wished that this round put out a better expansion so i can use it, it looks nice all silver

  • retard. you huntin' werewolves you dumb hick.
