  • Awesome! The cheap-ass wrapping of my machete came loose and now it has a perfect paracord wrapping. Thank You so much for this great tutorial!

  • you like hedgehog sheaths huh?

  • I didn't go through all the previous comments so I might be asking something that has already been asked, my apologies if I am. If you like the grip size of your knife and don't want to increase it but still want to cover a slick manufactured grip, can you just remove the 7 strands of inner cord and use the shell in the same way? Great videos, new fan and subscriber.

  • after watchin this video i have 550 wrapped my BK2 handle and sheath and the same on my BK3 Tactool. thanks

  • Thanks for your videos! I'm playing through them all right now. thank you!

  • @tr0s3ph Glad you are enjoying them! Thanks for watching!

  • just skip to 5:00 and miss all the b.s.

  • Great vid! I used this method.

No pandering intended but good endorsement as well. I too endorse Ron Paul for President

  • @BurchMike1 Thanks for the comment and for watching.

  • Hey, I followed these instructions and it came out awesome. Maybe a table tutorial next time, I almost didn't catch a few points, but I figured out the tie. I have a black BK-2 with black paracord, looks SWEET! Thanks Adam!

  • @NathanHaleLives Thanks for the feedback and for watching! Glad the video worked well for you.

  • @Equip2Endure No prob! You really do your research and it shows. Wish I could come out and check out your live demonstrations. Also, you did that paracord sheath for the BK-2. Is there someway you could do a video on how you paracorded that sheath and the specific names of the pieces that you used (like that plastic piece you used to hook the Bk-2 belt loop to the velcro belt loop). Perhaps, even a listing of places in which to buy these materials. Thanks for your time :)

  • @NathanHaleLives Sorry, I was not clear, my bad. The Bk-2 sheath I was talking about was the vertical leg strap version. Thanks again.

  • i took 6 pills of ambien before watching and i swore for a second i was enlisted and you were teaching me how to knot

  • @SIurm LOL

  • Thanks!!! I wrapped my home made knife and this method works like a charm!!!! Great vid, keep up the good work!

  • @fabisguns Glad to hear it worked well for you!

  • Thanks man!

  • @Equip2Endure thank you so much Adam best instruction on how to do this i have found just did this on two of my knives and it works great.

  • @RobbTZombie Glad to hear it!

  • i have 5mm cord and became too fat lol.

  • Very nice video :)

  • The infamous 550 cord burn.. Everyone has had it happen to them, just not at 13, like me.

I have the newer version of the BK-2 and I was wondering if the wrap would interfere with the sheath at all. Thanks to anyone who answers.

  • If you did this sitting at a table with the knife in frame, this wouldn't have been nearly as challenging to follow. Thanks.

  • @liberatedsage yeah id be lead to think that its a hedgehog leather works sheath on that tom brown tracker but to be sure email him hell be happy to answer your questions :)

  • wow...stop talking so much.

  • Lastly...

You pull on one end of the fishing line till it is completely removed from under the grip. I don't have a video camera else I'd post it.

  • Next...

Once you've gotten everything wrapped and you've pulled it tight as you can...you cut and burn that end as you did. Then you PULL the fishing line to pull that burnt, exposed in UNDER the wrap....now it's all pretty :)

You start as you did with the loop, but before you start with winding

  • There's a trick for pulling that loose burned end that is exposed on your handle. You need some strong fishing line. First you thread a piece of fishing line in a needle and stick it THROUGH the paracord where the paracord loop is in the middle of the handle. You want the fishing line running through the side of the loop that you'll be pulling on at the end to tighten things up.

  • look its bear grylls numbah 2

  • Good video thanks.

I really like that you showed us how to secure it so easily.

  • Thank you so much, I was wondering how to wrap my new knife because the cord always ends up slipping. Now that's gonna be tight.

  • @sunndrac Glad it worked well for you! Thanks for watching.

  • does wet paracord tighten while it drys or does it matter wheter it is wet or not?

  • what advantages would you say a paracord handle has over rubber or wood?

  • is 500' of paracord 500 feet?

  • Hi There

Like your work, although chooosing OD cord to use on an od handle was not easy to keep track. I'm more interested in your Tom Brown Tracker Sheath. Did it come with the knife or is it from some other supplier. I'd appreciate any info,

    regards

    R

  • Usually when I'm pulling the cord tight at the beginning I hook it with my big toe (Usually I do wraps and such in the comfort of my living room so I'm usually bare foot lol) and I find it easier to manipulate the cord. Great video!

  • It*

  • I usually will dip the hot end of Paracord in water in hardens and cools it down quick.

  • Btw you scared the heck outta me when you were wrapping. Be careful even taped that thing can take an eye out. I have an advantage, a scabbard.

  • Ugh wrapping a 10 inch handle on a two handed long sword. Thats what this is really about. I really dont see any reason to wrap knives. Needed a wrap for a sword though.

  • are those chickens in the background?

  • Thx I did this to one of my homemade slingshots :D

  • What a fantastic video thanks for sharing mate, I was looking for ways to wrap the skinny handle on my new kobun and this looks pretty sweet cheers :)

  • this has been bothering me for a long time in a survival situtaion would it be wise to use bright paracord on your knife handle or would that attract predators this is a serious question thanks adam

  • just wrapped the handle on my m9, thanks for the vid. i would have screwed it all up by myself!

  • from the side he looks like the sniper in black hawk down

  • Wow...this is so bad it's funny.

  • I like to make a lanyard type wrist strap from the excess cord when i wrap my flashlights.

  • cool man, thanks. im making a couple of knives and this really helped.

  • can i have your hedgehog sheath

  • i was wanting to do this with one of my swords....do u think that would be a good thing to do?

  • How funny! I looked at ten other lanyard videos before yours popped up. Thanks for the tutorial. This is why I subscribed awhile back. Always helpful, zero B.S. Thanks!

  • You can also take of the inner strands and do a flat type of wrap on the handle.

  • húhü_påsst_hìér_nët_réïñ_äbå_ich_bîn_sø_éínsåm_wíll_jemâñd_mit_mía_schrëibëñ

  • nothing like a good kukri !

  • hey i dont know if you have seen or thought abought it but i came across a video where a guy wrap a buck 119 knife and he put fishing line and fishing hooks underneath the wrap go to my chanel and look under my favorites if you want to see the video also how do you like this knife i was thinking about buying one do you think its worth the price ?

  • I AM A PRO... on cutting my self XD (by mistake)

  • I love this wrap I make a lot of bows and I like use yarn for the handle of the bow and it is very cozy.

  • Talks too fast, editing poor. Otherwise, I would recommend to a friend.

  • Adam, great video. I had e-mailed you asking where you bought your micarta scales but after reading comments and watching a few more videos I answered my own question. Keep up the good work!

  • Adam, i recommend for your next lesson please sit at a table and have the camera aimed downwards, i believe that would be the easiest and best way. Thanks

  • So at the last part when you cut the extra cord, could you use the extra to make a lanyard?

  • after burning the ends of the cord, u can instantly touch the burnt place with a wet finger (lick it). so u can also change the shape of that place...

  • Excellent! Thanks. Great information.

  • Has anyone tried a cord wrap without the scales installed? I wonder if the grip would be too thin then.

  • Just a hint, never wrap anything between your wrist and your elbow. I've seen someone break their wrist that way. I work as a stagehand, and that was the first piece of advice I got.

  • BAH! 4 minutes of crap

  • "where gonna be righ.......hey guys where back. " thought it was pretty funny

    2:13

  • instead of burning the end of the para cord you could use it to make a lanyard

  • Hi Adam

I went and try your Cord Wrap today. worked like a charm on my first go... nice and strong. I went and heated it all up very gently at the end for some extra strength.

    ty

  • Who do your audio cuts run into yourself, you start saying something else before you finish the first part. Sounds kinda weird.

  • Holy crap. I watched that long winded gob fest to see basic whipping? What a windbag.

  • @newcoyote

You didn't *have* to watch... It's not like the title is "Fancy Para Cord Wrap".

  • @CanItAlready No, but I did hope and give it a chance. It's is asinine of you to suggest I would know the outcome based on the title. Your reply is vacuous.

  • perhaps you should use a small saw instead of chopping all day with a knife :)

  • @andersonaaron , but I like to chop....

    - Adam

  • @Equip2Endure Fair enough :) Keep the videos coming!

  • @Equip2Endure

    winning lol

  • @Equip2Endure Remember: If yer not first, yer last.

    - Ricky Bobby

  • @Equip2Endure I used to love my good ole sven-saw, lightweight, goes through wood like a beaver!

  • @andersonaaron So your saying forget my Ontario Marine Raider and bring a saw! Wheres the fun in that!! a knife can strip and split wood aswell as many other tasks :)

  • @andersonaaron Well when you're in a survival situation, you don't really get to choose your tool. Unless you live in the matrix.

  • @andersonaaron machetes work too... ;-)

I personally wouldn't waste a good knife blade on chopping if could help it. I have a decent machete that's designed to take that kind of abuse... If it breaks it's my 30 dollar machete, not my $200 belt knife or any of the custom knives I've made for myself over the years... Just my two cents...

  • Adam, I was looking for a comment about where you bought the new scales for your Becker BK2. I have been looking for new ones but havent been able to find them.

  • @82spoon82 got mine from the kabar website. They since I got mine started to include extra hardware. I did a video on that one, somewhere on the channel, Lol!

  • @82spoon82 Amazon has 'em too, I think

  • can you wrap a certain knife for me? or tell me how.

search Samurai Combo - Tanto Blade & Linerlock it will be the fixed blade minus the leather wrapping.

the leather falls of so i need new wrapping. thanks

  • @austinhh132 , Do you have Skype? I would need to see the knife and whats wrong with it, but would be happy to help. My Skype information is on my website.

    - Adam

  • @Equip2Endure ni. i dont.

the end of the knife slants to a tip and it isnt glued or anything so it falls off

  • Sorry if this has been asked before, but have you tried this on a naked BK2?

  • @SeanyPancakes , no I have not. The model I have does not have the skeletonized handle. It could work for the 2nd version.

    - Adam

  • HAHAHA Kalimba is one of my favorite songs and ringtone thing

  • dude a finger lanyard? if u let go of the knife it could break your finger lol

  • @pballa95 , yeah never had that problem. Been using that techniques for years. Have had many broken fingers but never from chopping wood or dropping a knife.

    -Adam

  • i'm not trying to dis you or offend you, you vid was a great tutorial, but your editing need some work, you should transition to much.

  • @rjohnston96 , no it cool. Just got a new camera so it should get better getting new editing software as well. Microsoft movie maker is having issues.

  • Please remake this video with a better view of what is going on with the knife.

A person can't see anything that you are doing.

  • Hi, I'm a first-time watcher of E2E, but I found this video really helpful and informative. I have a cold steel true flight and am investigating whether it's possible to re-wrap it to be more comfortable. It seems like it's wrapped about the same as you did your Becker in this video, so I'm not sure I can do much with it. But thanks for the video!

  • Well done brother. :) This helped me out.

  • Your the man.

  • Its similar to a hangmans noose

  • video clip transitioning fail....great vid tho :)

  • i like how you dont start wrapping until 5:00 into the video, thats cool.

  • when i first got my butterfly knife i had to get stitches in my leg and hand from flipping it.

  • hmmm trying to find a practical use of paracord in the world of paintball.

  • SOPRATTUTTO PRATICO............

  • where can i find paracord?

  • Hey Adam. That 17 USD Fury has really impressed me. I put it to the test in the first half of '09 and it stood up! I did a lot of battoning and chopping with it and it still looks good... all except for the cord wrap! LOL I liked it so much that I picked up the 7" version (8 USD) with the ferrocerium rod included. I will say the sheaths are no good but the knives are pretty good for the money.

  • What do you think of ka-bars second generation bk2 coming out soon

  • Pretty cool. I will have to give it a shot and see if i like it when batoning wood.

  • The BK-2 does not really need a cord wrap, Amak503 is correct in the fact it should be used more on skelatonized blades or blades without grips, but if it's a heavy blade you are going to use for chopping you may like it. I also use the same technique to wrap cord around kydex sheaths or anything else to give you the ability to carry some extra cord. There is over 7 feet of wrap just on the BK-2, so it can add up fast,

    - Adam

  • Im defenitly going to attempt to wrap my bk2 sheath. I found out this last week that i really dont like it. Maybe the cord will assist with the integrity of the sheath.

  • I have and it does!

    - Adam

  • Thank you. I personaly don't wrap knives with scales or any kind of handle but i do wrap my skelatonized knives and some neck knives

    Thanks

  • Yeah you are right, I just want to use the BK-2 as an example. I have been using it for a few hours and I don't think I like it, but it's a good technique to practice.

    - Adam

  • I enjoyed this video presentation, as it demonstrates your technique very clearly.

In this style wrap, however, I prefer the base cord to be along the spine of the handle, rather than on one side. That way, both sides of the grip are of uniform thickness.

  • Yeah, that's how I have it for my TBT, that an excellent point. Maybe I will show that off in an upcoming video. Take care and give me a call some time! It's been a while.

    - Adam

  • Adam I have a request. I don't have a place to do it so I think your the guy to do it. How about a video on a self feeding/ no maintenance fire. I've used it quite a few times and I really like it. Especially on a cold night when I don't feel like leaving my spot. LOL

There aren't many videos on this type of fire on YouTube and I'm sure this could be useful for others as well.

    Thanks Adam

  • Sure, there are a few types of fires set ups that can be considered self-feeding. That's a good Idea, fire is good! Take care,

    - Adam

  • Good video Adam! Well done. I have a cheap Fury knife I need to redo. The origional wrap is no good.

    Thanks again

  • I got a cheap Fury knife for the small fixed test I'm getting ready to do. How has your Fury held up for field use?

    - Adam

  • keep it tight ;)

  • Good job Adam. I might do this on my RC-5.

  • Very nice video! Extremely well explained!

    Thanks.

  • Awesome, thanks!

  • cool

  • i'm going to try that. looks like it will take some practice to get it nice and tight.

  • thanks that was excellent i will try to do it on my tracker

  • thats pretty sweet, i have been thinking of doing that to my bowie, couldnt hurt, and if i dont like it, i can take it off!

also, sunday night i sheared the corner of my left thumb when i tripped while walking to my room to admire the new professional sharpening job.... lesson learnt!

    -Dylan

  • You got a MRE Spoon? I got a video for that! Lol! Take care,

    - Adam

  • That will work. This is a great way to carry some extra cord. Let me know how it goes.

    - Adam
