  • Cleveland = LOSERS

  • the scene of jordan celebrating and ehlo collapsing on the floor wasn't shown on tv at the time. does anyone know where people got to see it for the first time?

  • @gaosuwind I was just about to comment on this. Can't believe they decided to show the coach running around like a baffoon instead of Jordan in his most iconic celebration ever!

  • HE CANOT BE DENIED

  • Loved watching these Cavs back in the day!!! I thought that this was gonna be the Cleveland team that wins it all! But MJ just killed us! Watching this live....that shot was in the air for what seemed like forever. But it went in. Fast forward 2009, that was when LeBron was supposed to win it and be the hero. Well his shot against Orlando in Game 2 had the same feel after Turkoglu hit the jumper, but LeBron nailed "The Shot 2.0" I'm still waiting for a Cleveland championship.

  • 23 dislikes WTF!!

  • I remember this so vividly to this day, 22 years later. Why? because I WAS THERE!! I was standing in the lower bowl in the top left corner(as you're looking at it on this clip, but out of camera range), and i remember screaming "NO!!!" as he let the shot go. When that shot went in, all you could hear for 2 minutes was the Bulls team celebrating, and the few Bulls fans in the cheap seats screaming! One of the most painful experiences of my childhood!

  • This guy was a fucking beast.

  • @holderz Coming from a huge Laker fan, you're absolutely correct! Kobe is good...but not close to MJ's greatness.

  • jordan just makes scoring look too ez which is why he's so efficient

  • 2:47 was that Phil hugging Doug Collins as they ran off the court?

  • @ferrisnesse18

    It is. :)

  • I Miss the good old days, basketball now is a joke. NO Defense, and Players are overrated.. Kobe is probably the best now but has never played against real DEFENSE like the 80's pistons and 90's Knicks...

  • @jairocast21 but he did play against the 90's knicks tho :-/

  • jordans greatest shot hands down! atleast thats my opinion

  • @fancyviper i like his last shot as a bull. pretty epic.

  • @elfullin123 yea i like that one also

  • People don't realize how talented this particular Cleveland Cavs squad was. They were legitimate favorites to reach the Finals that year. And then #23 pulls the rug out from under them and condemns their city to even more crushing failure...

  • @RAV52 You are so right!!! The Cavs were really good with mark price and company.

  • I love how hte Cavs were so excited when there player made that layup. but then, michael crushes them!

  • simply the best....I'm a Lakers fan and I grew up seeing Jordan play and as much as I like Kobe he's not close to being MJ or anybody even LeBron....

  • talk about a slap in the face

  • LEBRICK SUCKS.

  • In the 1988-89, MJ played the greatest basketball this league has EVER seen. He had 11 triple doubles in a month, including 7 straight. He hit "the shot"...averaged 32.5 pts, 8.0 reb, 8.0 ast, 3.0 steals on 54% shooting. And did NOT win mvp! Its hilarious to see Kobe mentioned with the guy, when MJ has 5 mvps, and his 89 season was clearly better than Kobe's only MVP season and he still didn't win it. He should have been MVP every year of his career.

    GOAT and its not close.

  • @PhanatixDDH well finals mvps are much more improtant and kobe does have 2 will get 3 this year, maybe 4 when hes done and for MVPS,. he shoudl have 3 right now mj is better hes goat forever but kobe is still good.give him some credit.

  • mj career playoff 33.4 ppg, 5.7 apg, 6.4 rpg, 2.1spg, fg% .48, kobebryant- 25.5 4.8 5.2 1.4 .44 mj's stats clearly better

  • haha luk at those lakers fan commenting about jordan stop watchinbg his videos if u hated him.. stupid..they cant admit that jordan is the greatest

  • michael jordin is goku, kobe bryant is vegeta

  • These guys suck so bad Michael Jordan was just way to fast for them. No one can guard him and they are handchecking too they suck just slide your feet and learn how to play real defence only people who suck at defence handcheck Jordan was unstoppable even in Space Jam the monster team was all cheating and they even rolled michael jordan up into a ball but he came back from like 3,000 down and hit the game winner frm half court.

  • CLE is just not meant to win.

  • what the fuck r people looking at when they say kobe is better than jordan. they need to look at these games when he was young, not even close SORRY!!!!!!!

  • I agree. No one, not Kobe, Lebron, or anyone else, comes close to how great the young Jordan was in his prime. His career from 1986-1993 alone was enough to solidify him as the greatest individual player of all time. Only 7 years (Kobe's played 13). Incredible. He merely added to his legend from 1996-1998, but his individual brilliance from 86-93 is something we'll never witness again. We will simply never see a player like that again.

  • jordan is the bestt and will always be the best sad as hell to see him retire now chicagos a pussover......... hopefully theyll get better

  • @IAMeliramirez yeah they will because they have Rose, Boozer, and Noah if they could of got Joe Johnson then they could of been super tight.

  • was it a best out of 5 series

  • @hookemfan Yes.

  • @vangeful01 Lbj is so overated, all he does is dunk, that overshadows the fact that kb is better in every other catagory, and if lbj is so good y is he packing his bags 2 new york rite now????

  • @Laker4life100 No he not packing yet but i have feeling he will be

  • @Laker4life100, He went to South Beach.

  • @TommyTonic10

South bitch,? haha, LA is gonna win another title

  • @Laker4life100, yeah I hope so...

  • you fuck man.....kiss ur ass...lebron and jordan r the kings of nba........

  • rondo made THE ASSIST

  • haha Phil Jackson; 2:35..and as a clevelander, it hurts too watch... but its simply amazing how much longer he was in the air than Ehlo

  • @TheThaddeusThree That's Doug Collins, not Phil Jackson. Phil Jackson became coach the year after this...

  • @zeevideo I know, but pay attention to the first guy Collins runs past, Im pretty sure thats Phil Jackson with a smirk on his face..

  • Wait till Lebron wins a ring before you guys start praising him. Wade has one and he doesn't. Why don't you gibe wade props. Not saying he's better, but at least he's one a ring.

  • @jaymac070477

there are alot of players from nba nfl or mlb that never won a ring doesnt mean anything MJ is the best because he carries his team not cause his rings

  • @firerustdragon No Magic is the best he actually carries his team not just ball hogs my dad says the best team ever was the 87 Lakers and when you look at those stats Magic accounted for 49 points a game with assist and points combined. He also shot higher field goal percentage and got more boards. Who would you want to play with a ball hog who wins for you or a playmaker who wins with you?

  • @TommyTonic10

magic can score alot but MJ can do every thing he has a light frame so he can block every thing and dunk when he wants.MJ can play and entertain with crazy trick shots. you cant compare magic to MJ and you cant compare Terrel Owens to Jerry Rice

  • @firerustdragon actually you can do both like I just did and magic was a playmaker not a scorer and magic was super entertaining the showtime fast break is the most entertaining thing in sports..

  • @TommyTonic10

well you can but you'll look pretty stupid.MJ is the best in all of basket ball (not so much baseball) the lakers of the late 80s had alot of HOFers the bulls was just MJ just like the lakers is just kobe and suns is just nash

  • @firerustdragon MJ had one of the best Power forwards of all time in Rodman, and one of the best small forwards ever in pippen. Both will go to the HOF. Magic had Kareem and worthy. Same deal. MJ didnt even make the Bulls much better, go look what happened the year he retired for baseball. Bulls actually played better team basketball. 3 players made the All star team. They also got cheated in the playoffs or else they would of been back in the NBA finals vs Rockets (probably would of loss).

  • @TommyTonic10 Win a championship with jordon..

    Next year lose.

Hmm, I wonder if he even made them a better team.

  • @JustACanadianRapper Point is they were still really good, everyone always says Jordan had no team. Well They did pretty good without him. Now go look at the year before Magic came to the Lakers. THEY SUCKED! Year later they are in the championship, Kareem goes down and Magic switches from Point Guard to Center to win the game. AS A ROOKIE. 40 something points 15 boards and 7 assits. AS A ROOKIE! What was Jordan doing as a rookie? That's right ball hogging, getting 2 asist a game LMFAO.

  • "They did pretty good without him (MJ)."

Yeah..U can do that when U return the CORE of the title team from the previous year, plus add Kukoc, Kerr & 7 other new players, so please, get some perspective on the matter B4 posting dumb comments like that.

"What was Jordan doing as a rookie?"

Leading his team in scoring, rebs, assists & steals & Total Win Shares, so how could he have avg'd only 2apg as you're so DUMB to have said?

TommyTonic10 = typical dumb, uninformed YouTube kid..

  • And MJ's avg for assists in '86 was skewed, due to him missing 64 games with a broken foot U fuckin idiot!

Please go get some perspective on the game B4 U post!

If U don't know what the hell you're talkin' about, please shut up & go back to playing with your x-box or guitar hero or something kid, and leave the basketball commentary to those of us who saw MJ in his prime, and have some historical perspective on the matter..

  • @blackadam06 FLUTE SOLO!!!

  • Sarcastic remarks are a GLARING indicator that U have NO "factual" rebuttal.

U say MJ was a ball hog? Who was it that set the record for MOST assists per game (11apg) in the '91 Finals by a NON pt guard vs Magic of all people? Who was it when moved to the pt guard spot for the last 23 games of the '89 season, got 15 triple doubles?

To put that into perspective, Magic's BEST season TO DATE in terms of # of triple doubles in a season is 18..MJ almost bested that in 20+ games LOL!!

  • @blackadam06 BUILDING KICK!!

  • All that, and he wound up trailing Magic by 110 triple doubles.

  • Sure he did, but that wasn't the point I was making, or are U too to slow to have missed that?

  • No, I got the point you were making, it's just laughably bad. Jordan WAS a ballhog. A great ballhog, but a ballhog nonetheless. I just find it amusing when Jordan homers try to point to that sample of games from 1989 as proof that MJ had the playmaking capabilities of Magic (not saying that's what you did, but it's implied).

  • How the fuck can he be a ball hog when he LED Chicago in assists as a rookie?

B4 his Wizard yrs brought down some of his career avg's, his apg avg as a Bull was 6 a game, but even with that said, his career apg avg is STILL HIGHER than Pippen's, so do U consider him a ball hog too?

Lemme guess, U probably do huh?

MJ has "3" 500+ assists seasons, and a 600+ assist season as 2-guard!

Ball hogs don't do that, so WTF are U talkin' about?!!

  • @TheBrainMachine78

"not saying that's what you did, but it's implied"...um..by making that implication..you ARE saying that's what he said.

How does not having the passing of magic = ballhog? MJ was just as good, probably better "playmaker" in the general sense. Playmaking means finding the most efficient means of scoring, not deferring to others at every chance.

How exactly was MJ a ballhog when he was averaging 6-7 assists in his prime on the Bulls? Are PGs the only non-ballhogs?

  • @TommyTonic10 michael jordan was not a ball hog! he had some of the most amazing passes ive ever seen. he wanted to improve each and every aspect of his game. he didnt like how everybody knew him for his offense. he wanted ppl to know him for more than his amzing shots. so he worked very hard on defense and passing and it payed off. his defense was amzing and his passes were as well

  • @10lionelmessisgod10 He actually was a ball hog dude except for one season when he averaged 8 assist a game..but yeah one season he only averaged 2 assist per game thats just sad lol. but yeah thats how it is im a SG for my team and im a ball hog too. Just because I drop dimes doesnt mean im not a ball hog. Especially in the 4th thats when I just takeover lol.

  • Just the fact that so many people compare Lebron to Jordan should tell you something.

  • watching some more mj again reminds me that he always has been better than LBJ. The only thing thing that's closest in the NBA is Kobe.

  • @OfficerInfusion yah ur right kobe is the closest among the player now.. but if u compared jordan to kobe.... sorry he isnt close dude!

  • Ehlo must have nightmares about this.

  • lebron james idolizes micheal jordan.

lebron is the best of this era.

jordan is the best of all time.

he would never compare himself to jordan.

    so we should not either.

lebron is lebron and jordan is jordan.

both have strengths and weaknesses the others dont.

  • cavs are known for this and getting swept

  • Look like @Squeemu said, LeBron has many years ahead of him, Jordan was the greatest player of all time, but LeBron is developing into that kind of player. If you look, Jordan broke his foot in his second season, but the Bulls still made the playoffs, do you think the if LeBron broke his the cavs would make it? No. Im not saying LeBron is even close to what Michael was, im just saying the if he keeps on the track he's currently on, he may become the closest thing to him.

  • Its not the quantity but quality! why do everyone keeps forgetting this. Lebron plays in watered down NBA era where today's many starters will sit on bench forever in '80s & '90s. Lebron will never see the calibre of ewing, robinson, stockton, malone, barkley, olayjawon type players. never. NBA is changed to european version NCAA league. No defense, 3- sec violation. Lebron is having it way too easy. MJ ave 32.5/8/8 for all 82 games in 1989. Lebron is struggling to ave 30ppg right now.

  • @mnkhan2020 Yes sir, I agree. The NBA got weak because the guys you mentioned would have slaughtered Lebron. Good speech man.

  • man im laker an and the say kobe better then jordan havent watch the jordan era

i like kobe but be serious ppl JORDAN IS THE GOAT

  • @aero398 - Brotha', you needs to get off the court and gets yo head in the books. Your literacy skills bes the goat's vagina!

  • Jordan does have a better resume than kobe, more rings, mvps, etc. But that all doesn't really matter... They both impacted the game incredibly, what did lebron do?? I didnt know dunking hard and doing windmills meant you were the greatest player to play the game...

  • Lebron is a pussy.

  • @TheFalconparkour

even worse, a pussy with balls

  • major faceplant @ 2:16

  • I dont know which "shot" was more heartbreaking. MJ's shot against the Cavs in 89 or Allan Houstons shot against the Heat in 99. I say Allan Houstons shot because the Knicks were an 8 seed and Miami was a 1 seed.

  • Respect to the white boy that made the lay in on Jordan

if God disguised as MJ wasn't in the game

surely that would have been a game winner

  • Comment removed

  • If it were not for Jordan, Lebron would not be what he is today. Jordan revolutionized the 'Game' in more ways than Lebron ever will. Lebron can only hope to scratch the surface of what mike did. The Celtics & Lakers gonna keep winning the titles for a while so Lebron's time is running out.

  • What is wrong with these announcers? Just in this amount of video, they are seeing 1)one of the best games in playoff history 2)some of Michael Jordan's best moves...they're acting like they're board: "Scooping it in Jordan" and "see ya later a left handed layup" in the most monotoned voices ever...are you kidding me get excited! This is Michael Jordan in his rubber band legs days when he could jump out of the building and he's putting on a show!

  • theres a very easy way to compare lebron and MJ. although their stats are very close, it comes down to rings between them. MJ has wat? 6? 7? correct me im wrong. lebron has how many? zero

  • Sort of like how Sasha Vujacic has more rings than Rashard Lewis? I know who I want knocking down open threes.

  • i said it comes down to rings between MJ and Lebron since their stats are so close. i wasnt saying that as a general idea, that all players should be compared via championship rings

  • Jordan had a great team around him. Who does Lebron have? Also, Lebron has many years ahead of him in this league still. I'm not a Lebron fan but at least show a little objectivity.

  • i think i showed quite a bit of objectivity when i said that their stats were very close. thats the only reason i judged them upon rings. although MJ had great players around him, he was the one everyone remembered most. until lebron can get at least 1 ring, MJ is still on a different level when it comes to the "best player of all time" conversation.

  • @squeemu WHEN LEBRON gets 6 finals 6 finals mvp, 5 season mvps, 6 straight over 30+PPG seasons, have two 3 peats ,have the highest ppg average in history, 3rd all time leading scorer in nba history then ill give lebron credit what does he have a mvp thats nothing compared to jordan career

  • 0:23 to 0:25..... Beauty, Artistry, Creativity...Fundamentally sound; Jordan was all these things in one

He was like watching Poetry; if it came 2 life

  • ... and they lost, as they always do.

  • wait and see...but i think that in 10 years so many people will say "MJ is still the greatest of all-time"

  • @tmacof93 we will never see that i think his skill will be reached but his achievements or whatever he did on the court will be hard to reach because people keep getting better not like in jordan's era when a few people had skills now or in the future it will be like playing all stars if u were to compared it with mj's era its not easy

  • can i just ask wat all star mvps have to do with abything an all star mvp is based on one basketball showcase game that is for the fans so all star mvps should not be taken into consideration

  • then think of this Jordans ROOKIE stats were better than lebrons stats have ever been and Jordan was up against a MUCH tougher defense against MUCH tougher players

  • ok wait..are u comparing MJ to lebron ?

    r u high kidd ?

  • This was Jordan's 4th or 5th season in the NBA, so I think it's fair to compare them right now, entering Lebron's 6th. I'm looking forward to this season's playoffs and see how he deals with a game 7 like this one, specially now with Shaq on his side. For this playoffs series Pippen was there. Anyway 39 ppg, 6 r and 8 ass is too much to ask from anyone even MJ. Lebron is talented but I don't feel his hunger like in Kobe or Magic. By the way Magic won it as a rookie in game 7 without Kareem!

  • Well, how hungry or killer did Kobe seem when he got the ball poked away by Dwight in game 3 of the Finals? How great did Kobe seem when he lost the ball to Turkoglu near the end of the fourth quarter in game 2?

  • how hungry did he look winning his 4th ring? pretty hungry

  • well...lebron only been playin 6 yrs...in jordans 1st 6 yrs compared to lebron lebron beat jordan in fg% 1 time 3p% 5 times and avg ppg once unless u count rebounds as important to stats jordan pretty much spanked lebron in all other stats when you compare them for both their 6 years also in jordans last season at age 39 compared to lebrons 1st jordan played less time and his stats were stil close to lebrons even though lebrons were only higher by a little it 2early to say lebron's the greatest

  • also in Mj's 1st four years he had more awards than lebron has had in his career so far which is 2 years longer

  • Jordan averaged 40 points in this series. He is the Cleveland killer just like Reggie Miller was the New York killer. In the 93 series though, the Cavs were swept so it wasn't that heartbreaking as the first time.

  • if dough stay he will got 6 rings not phil

  • that time MJ's Jump shot is not that gud but he later improve it and become his lethal weapon.

  • both Kobe and Lebron are good but a,Michael is the ONE...

  • i miss watching mchael, I barely remember him play, only been to a couple bulls game back then.

  • This is why basketball is atrocious today. Notice how Jordan had 1 yes ONE shooting foul called when he attacked the hoop in this video? Yeah watch the other 5 plays, and you'll notice that in todays game, if any contact similar to what Jordan took in those drives happened to LeChoke James, it would immediately be called a foul.

This shot is a million times better then that retarded toss it up and pray shot Queen James made in a meaningless series that they lost.

  • True but later on in MJ's career, he started getting those same touch calls lebron and kobe get today.

  • TheNBArobert is stupid. This shot that Michael hit was by far more important than LeBron's...Michael's shot was to advance in the playoffs and LeBron's was only in game 2 of the series. Think logically before you say stupid shit. Michael = G.O.A.T.

  • @bwes0618 Michael Jordan is definately not a Goat. He is a Basketball TEAM Owner.

  • People who dont think LeBrons good are RETARDS seriously could Kobe do what LeBron can NO! WHO CARES WHETHER HE WINS OR LOSES HE IS STILL GOOD

  • duh he's good but he still needs to win to be great

  • push off

  • Cool. Where are LeBron's 6 NBA Titles?

  • kobe looks like shit to michael

  • lebron looks like shit to kobe

    esp in playoff games

  • you know no matter what this was a great shot my dad was telling me how he was watching this game and how my grandpa almost had a stroke from this its sad we beat the bulls 5 times in the season and lost like this....... great shot by a great player

  • This is one of the reasons why Michael is considered the greatest. He's done this many times throughout his career. (It's even more EPIC how he made the game winning shot against Cleveland again when he was on the Wizards years later!) LEGENDARY PLAYER!

  • Ok everyone shut up about Lebron already. He isnt at Jordan's level yet, obviously, but I cant stand how ppl just hate him for no reason. Back in the 80s, no one shook hands after losses, just ask Boston or Detroit. And come on, Lebron had one of the greatest playoffs of all time, and took a team full of scrubs (including Mo) to 6 games with a much better Magic team. Give him a break.

  • ...and Lebron's lucky-ass 3-point shot is supposed to be greater than this? get the fuck out.

  • could not have said that better. *clap clap clap*

lucky is deff the word for the lebron shot

  • every single lebron 3 pointer is luck, he has no fucking outside game, but i have to say hes a beast inside

  • yes he does have an outside game

  • Fuck Lebron, I crown King Jordan

  • Poor Ehlo...an unfortunate highlight to a solid career.

  • is that hubie brown as commentator

  • It sure is

  • i like when he is commentator of the game

  • 1:23 Was that a mini sky hook from Mike?

  • Who would of thought Lebron James would repeat that shot 20 years later.

  • I thought the same thing when it happened.!! amazing!!

  • I know, it sucks.

  • The only difference is that Jordan did it to one of the best teams ever assembled. The Cavs were a great defensive team and one of the favorites to win it all. Labron's 1-second shot seem like a 5-second shot.lol Good shot though.

  • who was playing on that cavs team?

  • Nance,Price,dautherty,ehlo,etc.. A great 80's & 90's team.

  • back then first round was best of 5. not best of 7 like it is today.

  • w8 w8 game 5 were the cavs up 3-1?

  • 2:33

I assume that was their head coach?

  • Doug Collins

  • thats doug collins genious

  • who was sitting next to him. Phil Jackson.

  • Does anyone know what the playoff seeds were here? The Pistons were probly the 1 seed, the Cavs could have been as high as the 2 seed but Im not sure. anyone know?

  • pistons were 1 knicks were 2 cavs were 3 bulls were 6 celtics were 8 thats all i know

  • thanks bro you are correct...i guess youre good at hoops where u from?

  • yea im good im from NY now im down in GA

  • 3rd seed

  • utah 1998

  • man i like to beat the fuck out of jordan 4 that

  • Where's the one where the announcer says... "BULLS WIN, BULLS WIN!!!"

  • OK that does it. I want Chicago in the first round.

  • another thing people forget....if jordan misses that shot bulls lose....the player who put cavs ahead about 10 secs earlier....ehlo, but he will always be remembered as jordans puppet

  • yea the cavs were really good back then, but michael was just simply better

  • man people forget about how good a team the Cavs had back then with Mark Price a deady scorer and shooter and all star , and daughtery an all star , larry nance all star , craig ehlo was one of the best 3 point shooters .... good memorys

  • People also forget that Ehlo actually played a great game. I think he had 15 points in the 4th quarter. All everyone remembers is him being unable to stop Jordan (like anyone really could).

  • what about how good the cavs are right now!?

    #1 team in the nba.

funny how shit changes in 20 years

  • until they win anything jordan will still haunt their franchise from those late 80s and early 90s games

  • Even late 90s

  • ... No 1 team

Lebron got his ass served to him by the underdogs, the Magic. Tell him to come next year with some manners and then we might crown him with another title, rather than the "crying boy".

  • shit that was the shot that fucked the cavs till they got Lebron

  • boy just think if the bulls did not have Jordan, the cavs would have been the Eastern Conference Champions and they probably would have won their 1st NBA Finals

  • craig eeeeeeeeeeeehlooooooooo! poor guy

  • MJ is a God among basketball players

  • according to webster, God is An image of a supernatural being; an idol. Therefore yes Michael Jordan is a God, and as far as there being only "one god" is debatable. Your logic has failed.
