As far as I know you cant find a combat rifle in Operation A. and you cant take it with you. So why do you have a combat rifle? Until the lone wanderer arrives at the headquarter the DLC is quite fun 'cause you can do some tactical fights. I wouldnt've spent money on Operation Anchorage but its okay if you have the GOTY-edition. Cant say that it was boring.
I have to agree with the points in this video. Fallout 3 isn't about combat. I mean, combat is a fun and important part of it, but it's mostly about
-Exploration
-Enjoying the unique enviroments
-Enjoying the morbid humour
-Meeting interesting and well-characterized NPCs.
Combat is fun, but it's definitely not the game's strength. Anchorage was... Just too much for me. I only got it 'cause it came in the GOTY.The enviroment is different to the actual game, but there's so damn little of it!

@progressivescan09 agreed. i had a predator mod i combined with the gauss. perfect combo since at the time i preteded the gauss was the predator shoulder mount.. Sides that i only used this addon to make more interesting mods with. yay for giant cannons!
It's true this DLC is all about combat - that's why I didn't download it. I got Point Lookout and Broken Steel only. They were the only one's that were like Fallout 3 in terms or exploration, etc, were the best value for money, and had the best goodies to take back to DC.

This is hands down the BEST DLC for Fallout 3. The Pitt was boring as hell, Point Lookout is just way too random and long, Broken Steel is the only other good one. This war caused all of Fallout 1 2 and 3. Look at it from this perspective, you've played all of Fallout 3, and you start thinking about the war that caused it, and then you find that there is a DLC that shows what happened during the war. I also enjoyed sniping and the new weaponry, I just wish you could get the combat armor.

I have a solution... buy the game of the year version if you dont yet have the game and save 30 dollars. The regular version is 40$ and the GOTY version is 50 and it includes all the dlcs
It depends, because if you are a die hard fallout3 fan all your getting is a bobble head,a map, a the making of fallout3 dvd,a lunchbox, and a book thing. plus you have to pay 20$ for 2 dlcs. Totalling up to about 40 dollars extra. Im not into all that extra stuff, so I just pay 50$ for the game of the year edition.
Yeah, im more of FPS than RPG.The collecters edition of Fallout 3 iS $40.00 while the GOTY edition is $59.99. Some of the DLC looks pretty bad. Also which DLC would you recommend getting? Oh, another thing the regular fallout 3 is just $22.99 used and $29.99 new not $40.00.

Well I'm really inbetween a rock and a hard place with you people. I love MW2 but this game is simply something else. They're really only similar in the aspect that they both are pioneers of an entire genre. But you really can't pit them against eachother, they're completely different. Both great, I couldn't imagine picking one over the other.
operation anchorage is boring anyway as the endless combat makes the game more dull as that is what u will be doing all the time and it dusnt extend the maps size as u r playing through a simulation. i find mothership zeta and broken steel the best add ons as they have greater rewards in terms of weaponary like the destabilizer or alien blaster or drone cannon ex-b
between the pitt and operation anchridge i would recomment OA. the pitt takes about 1 hour to beat and is no challenge at all. sure the pitt has the ingots to collect but who really fells like doing that every day?
OA was much more entertaining and with it playing more like an FPS, it felt new and more challenging because it tested your combat skill and quick thinking. plus the rewards are awesome. the sword and gauss wepons are fun and powerful

just got the operation anchorage for ps3 beat it and found a glitch dont know if its just me but the chinese stealth armor has an invisible face, by that i mean you cant see it at all at any time and if you do look into it you can see the inside of urself lol
I bought the Fallout 3 Add on pack CD for 360 and only got it for the PITT. I found Anchorage to be fun at first then became boring and now Can't be bothered doing it. i myself really enjoyed the dlc, it really does depend on if you like the combat or not. if you enjoy the games combat then it is a great thing to pick up. if not, there are still some reasons. after beating the dlc you have access to a stealth suit that makes you invisible so you can avoid combat altogether. it also has some other reedeming qualities like that fact you can save right before you play through the dlc so you can play it as often as you want cus you can't replay it hope that helped

the dlc is not great but a nice bit of fun if you 've completed fallout 3 with or with out broken steel i got it as there was a clearence shop and they had microsoft points for £5 so dlc 3/10

Yah I got Op Anchorage first... finished in 3 hours but I had fun with it (love the weapons) and then I got Mother Zeta and I have liked it so far. It is pretty linear though. It is longer. I still haven't finished it and I was playing several hours which is cool.I think the only thing I DON'T like about it is that it is sorta of claustrophobic making it harder to kill the aliens (who are pretty formidable) All in all they are both pretty good. BuT so far Broken Steel is my favorite.
I already have Broken Steel which was pretty good. Now I am about to get two more dlcs... I am thinking of getting Operation Anchorage and Mothership Zeta... Op. Anchorage has the gauss rifle which looks pretty sick to me along with the chinese stealth armor. I like playing war games... not much for walking around with no purpose like in FO:3.... Anything I should really know about them? BTW I am going to get Point Lookout last cuz I hear it is really hard and I already know what happens....
point lookout can be hard, but its fun. it gives you a place you can explore alot like the main game. it also has some fun side quests which involve killing an evil brain, sneaking abord a chinese sub, a little fight against hordes of ghouls (reminds me of nazi zombies in cod:waw) and plenty of interesting places to visit like a store which (though a glitch) can fully restore the condition of any of your items. all the DLC is worth buying in my opinion.
it does degrade, just very slowley, it starts at 999 value, mines at 998 right now but if you have point look out you can do the glitch at haleys hardware to get his repair to 100 and then do the caps glitch to get all youritems repaired to 100% for free
this addon was amazing, its more firefight then rpg but its still worth it, who dosent like stealth armor, swords, a sweet rifle, and power armor*best in game* that dont need repairs lol

Operation Anchorage is great id say its the third best DLC out of the five planned which im getting for free ^_^(cept for Mothership Zeta which hasnt been released yet)
Mothership Zeta which is being released August 3rd will probably be almost as much fun as Broken Steel
this game does have amazing realistic shooting, but it would be nice if you could look down the sights of the gun, insted of just zooming in, but i do understand that it would of been hard doing that because some lazer guns and costomized guns like the rock-it lancher doesnt have a sight to look down
this guy has obviously has never used a gun because this is the most realistic shooting system ive seen and i am really happy about that so anyone who says this combat is suckish they never used a gun

Two. The strength of Fallout 3 is not combat, so it doesn't make sense for them to have a DLC based around combat. I don't get what people misunderstand about that. I don't dislike games because they have combat, Fallout 3's is just bad.

BTW I found this the best DLC, why ? the environment is stunning. U get in my opinion the most beautifull armor there is T-51b winter.
+ is a part of fallout history, you can see who the man were at the anchorage memoriaal statue.
+ the 1 who play the game on the vid is so nub lol he said it's bad but he uses cheats OMG lol combat shotgun at simulation...

MW2 has the LARGEST multiplayer following of any game and for hardcore players prestiging all the way adds MORE than 100 hours of playtime.....so there

Lame, MW2 is OK in multiplayer but it's single totally sucks I played it in 3h = 55€ gone, I bought fallout 3 goty for only 45€ witth the extra 5 things
MW2 is very unrealistic about weapons, they are ugly and lol the use cqc weapons for long range lame...

just got the operation anchorage for ps3 beat it and found a glitch dont know if its just me but the chinese stealth armor has an invisible face, by that i mean you cant see it at all at any time and if you do look into it you can see the inside of urself lol

Buy brothers of steel dlc first. I think thats what it's called. Since it raises your level cap to 30 ultimately, making it the longest dlc.

I bought the Fallout 3 Add on pack CD for 360 and only got it for the PITT. I found Anchorage to be fun at first then became boring and now Can't be bothered doing it. I'm buying the Fallout 3 Add on pack 2 tommorow with Broken Steel and Point lookout. Firstly I'm searching the reviews for them Shame I didn't do it at first eh?

i myself really enjoyed the dlc, it really does depend on if you like the combat or not. if you enjoy the games combat then it is a great thing to pick up. if not, there are still some reasons. after beating the dlc you have access to a stealth suit that makes you invisible so you can avoid combat altogether. it also has some other reedeming qualities like that fact you can save right before you play through the dlc so you can play it as often as you want cus you can't replay it hope that helped

the dlc is not great but a nice bit of fun if you 've completed fallout 3 with or with out broken steel i got it as there was a clearence shop and they had microsoft points for £5 so dlc 3/10

Yah I got Op Anchorage first... finished in 3 hours but I had fun with it (love the weapons) and then I got Mother Zeta and I have liked it so far. It is pretty linear though. It is longer. I still haven't finished it and I was playing several hours which is cool.I think the only thing I DON'T like about it is that it is sorta of claustrophobic making it harder to kill the aliens (who are pretty formidable) All in all they are both pretty good. BuT so far Broken Steel is my favorite.

I already have Broken Steel which was pretty good. Now I am about to get two more dlcs... I am thinking of getting Operation Anchorage and Mothership Zeta... Op. Anchorage has the gauss rifle which looks pretty sick to me along with the chinese stealth armor. I like playing war games... not much for walking around with no purpose like in FO:3.... Anything I should really know about them? BTW I am going to get Point Lookout last cuz I hear it is really hard and I already know what happens....

point lookout can be hard, but its fun. it gives you a place you can explore alot like the main game. it also has some fun side quests which involve killing an evil brain, sneaking abord a chinese sub, a little fight against hordes of ghouls (reminds me of nazi zombies in cod:waw) and plenty of interesting places to visit like a store which (though a glitch) can fully restore the condition of any of your items. all the DLC is worth buying in my opinion.

it does degrade, just very slowley, it starts at 999 value, mines at 998 right now but if you have point look out you can do the glitch at haleys hardware to get his repair to 100 and then do the caps glitch to get all youritems repaired to 100% for free

this game does have amazing realistic shooting, but it would be nice if you could look down the sights of the gun, insted of just zooming in, but i do understand that it would of been hard doing that because some lazer guns and costomized guns like the rock-it lancher doesnt have a sight to look down
