  • I surf at First beach in La Push every year.... so much fun! Waves are pretty big.

  • I live in La Push the surf is awsome.

  • What is seen on the video is mostly the shore break. The swell was so big it was breaking out by James Island. The Kayak surfers were so far out I could out get any good video. That was where Steve was injured. He is one of those guys that has dislocated his shoulder many times and can pop it back on the water.

The swell forecasts are an average wave height, some higher and some smaller. As a wave feels the bottom it kicks UP and breaks.

  • Yes, that wouldn't be calle +20 feet surf. When waimea bay gets +20 feet surf, the swell forecast is in the 40 ft range.

I surf La Push in all conditions, and this is more like 6-8 foot surf. . .

  • Tomcrom is probably right.

Theres a difference between breaking wave height and swell height.

  • that isnt 20 foot surf

  • NOAA forcast NW Swell at 22 feet

  • Not 20ft on the face however. trust me I have surfed a 20 foot face and that my friend is not. however i beleive that the swell height was 22 feet.
