This is a mockery of the blessed trinity. Specially the Holy Spirit who makes the ordination of priest true and of God. Can you sight me an apostle that ordain woman to priest? you are just resurecting the heresy of the nostics
vatican.........the devil is there...inside their intention
they want to destroy the True Church created by Our Lord, Jesus Christ-THE ORTHODOX CHURCH ! This is the work of the devil ! But they will not succeed in doing this because GOD will not permit this to happen, as He promised ! Even the gated of the hell will not defeat His Holy Catholic (Universal-is the meaning) and Apostolic Church ! GOD created the Orthodoxy through the Holy Apostles ! the pope wants to become its leader, but is GOD
'Wherefore, in order that all doubt may be removed regarding a matter of great importance, a matter which pertains to the Church's divine constitution itself, in virtue of Our ministry of confirming the brethren (cf. Lk 22:32) We declare that the Church has no authority whatsoever to confer priestly ordination on women and that this judgment is to be definitively held by all the Church's faithful.' Pope John Paul II (Ordinatio Sacerdotalis, 22 May 1994)
Catholics must look at this at a different angle and perspective. Forget whether this is allowed or not allowed by Vatican as the verdict has already been read. WHAT YOU MAY BE SEEING RIGHT NOW IS A PART OF A DELIBERATELY PLANNED AND SYSTEMATICALLY EXECUTED CONSPIRACY TO ATTACK, DISCREDIT, HUMILIATE TO SUBMISSION THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH AT IT'S MOMENT OF GREATEST VULNERABILITY. These women may not be even aware that they are being used as pawns and certainly not the 1st time in history.
And stop this, forgive me, stupid argument about "ex-nazi" Pope. For all our sakes, read something about his youth and then talk, please. Again to the point here, these women have many roles perhaps, but priesthood is NOT one of them.
@MrJayguess: I see now that you are a scholar and ordained priest. Well then, where you get your idea that women can become priests? Did Jesus Christ chose one as his apostle? Since you call on people here to follow Christ, I suggest you go first. Would you kindly answer this simple question? There can be discussion about celibacy, of course. But this is different. Why would the Saviour not choose a woman among his disciples, if he wanted female priests?
@RoRaf74 The 12 apostles are irrelevant. Can you name ONE person in scripture, just one, male OR female, that Jesus conferred the 'priesthood' (as modern RCs would understand it) on? There were ordained deacons of course, many of whom were women. There were also Church leaders who'd have presided at the Eucharist (the core priestly role) who were female . But the priesthood as the RCC understands, was a later invention - after women were suppressed as they have been throughout history.
@MRJayguess: get your facts straight. Benedict did not condone child rape. Church did not murder anybody, people in the church did, which is suite a difference. Complicit in the holocaust? Please, read something about Pius XII, but not from "liberal" historians or journalists. Please. The same for "false" doctrines of purgatory and indulgences. That is wrong again, and secondly, Luther criticised the abuse of those, not the idea itself. But to the video here: NO woman can become priest.
@RoRaf74 Wrong. Benedict as a cardinal ignored the evidence and did nothing about bringing the rapists to justice. Fact. MANY of the popes, not only Pius, throughout history have been evil tyrants (Alexander VI, Damasus I, Benedict XI, Urban II, Boniface VIII, Innocent III to name just a few) who were the leaders of the RCC - or are you saying that the Church is now divorced from its leader?
"NO woman can become priest." Evidence? There is none unless you cherrypick or twist scripture.
@MrJayguess how equally offensive the likes of you who bastardize our faith. You know nothing of Christianity or you would not defend such sacriledge. Our Lord certainly didn't.
@capone70 You're so wrong.. First, I'm ordained myself. Second, I've been a Christian for nigh on 45 years. And I probably know more of 'Christianity' than you. Moreover, Our Lord's teaching said NOTHING about the priesthood - whether male or female. As an example, name me ONE person Christ ordained 'priest' as the RCC church would understand it today. In fact name one person in the New Testament ordained as 'priest' There are none. Only deacons - and many of them were female!
@MrJayguess "ordained" by whom? And under what "authority"? As an unverified figure on the internet, your "credentials" really don't matter. But to answer, Our Lord conferred the sacrament of reconciliation to His apostles in Matt 18:18; all male apostles. We believe in apostolic succession. The word "priest" is not used, but nor is "Trinity", yet both are clearly outlined in the gospels. Do I need to explain what the gospels are to you?
@capone70 Ordained an Anglican under the authority of my bishop. And before you state that the Anglican Church is not 'in communion' with Rome, I couldn't care less about the pope's rules. What really matters is the apostolic succession that BOTH Churches claim. Not even the idea of 'priest' is seen in the NT. The ONLY priestly function is presiding at the mass and this was carried out by both women as well as men in the frist 2 centuries (eg Lydia - also see 'Fractio Panis').
@MrJayguess LOL. Your "authority" comes from the cod-piece of your lecherous king Henry VIII. The difference here is we follow Christ, you follow your fat, syphillitic king. You have no apostolic succession; spare us the indignities of this pittiable argument. The only good Anglicans who really care about Apostolic succession are now Uniate and in full communion with Rome. In sum: keep your little dying heretic cult out of Gods' church. These priestesses should join you, and not vice versa.
@capone70 cont.. ad if you are going to be an offensive, condescending and sacrastc in asking whether I understand what the gospels are, I suggest that if you wish to discuss them we do so in the original koine Greek. if you can't, go away and learn some, and then come back.
Discussions are now over as it is night time here and any further replies to your offensive sarcastic emails will be done tomorrow at the earliest.
@capone70 Before I retire, I must comment. Your offensive prejudiced unChristian comments directed to anyone who does not fit into your hardline box are as far away from Christian love as can be. As far as my Church is concerned, I do not have to hang my head in shame regarding the Cathars, Belgrade massacre, the Inquisition, man-made doctrines like the assumption and papal infallibility, priests who rape little boys, and an ex-nazi pope. Yes, discussions are over, you offensive diabolic bigot.
@MrJayguess get the behind me, Satan! You are one to talk about "priests" (hah!) raping little boys. The Anglican church has long been in the lead there. And get this, heretic, you are NOT in any position to decide what is Christian or un-Christian. Discussion closed.
@capone70 Hmmm According to the reports, between 1950 and 2002 in the US alone 4% of RC priests were accused of child abuse. In the C orf E that figure was 0.39%. Those figures represent around 1600 priests in the US alone, and a couple of dozen in the Anglican Church which, by Church law each church HAS to have a child protection officer and policy.
Stop blurting out evil nonsense and learn some tolerance of others outside your narrow, bigoted antiChristian 'religion'.
@MrJayguess Gee, heretic, hard to argue with something as nebulous as "the reports". According to the Free Republic 10% (that's more than 4...isn't it) ministers of the Anglican communion have been accused of paedophilia. And this is of course after the fact that your sect has opened the doors wide for priestesses, married/gay clergy etc. Kind of puts that "anything goes" argument against celibacy to rest, doesn't it?
@capone70 Free republic? never heard of it. Unless you refer to the 'activist' website where people can post all sorts of trash. Must be reliable stuff then! My reports come from the BBC News, NY Times, John Jay Criminal Justice reports, and various studies done by Oxford Uni. Not reliable enough?
10% of clergy? Utter bilge. Like to put that in writing and sign it? I'll post it to the Archbishop, Lambeth Palace, London
(By the way, I can recommend a good libel lawyer you silly man).
@MrJayguess such Christian virtue and charity in your posts. I'm sure you do the grand-druid (I think he prefers that title since archbishop is not gender-inclusive enough). Freerepublic is an independent news entity and polling body. YOu really are a moron. And lucky for us, your little sect is dying off in droves. How many people showed up for mass..err...solstace worship last Sunday in your parish...erl....faith-oriented space?
@capone70 Christian virtue/charity. Nice to see you leave vile comments about others - including me AND the Anglican communion. You are really obnoxious. Christian? You give the word a bad name. "FreeRepublic is a moderated Internet forum for activists" (Wiki) based in the US. There is anoher world outside the US you know. Anglican Church growing (thank the Lord) in parts exponentially. Im on ignore? Thank the Lord again. No more obnoxious venom from a pseudoChristian like you. .
@MrJayguess And of course your grand-druid doesn't publicise the 10% molestation figure in your sect. But you can verify it independently. Mind you, I said Anglican communion. Anyway, you are now on ignore as I really shouldn't have wasted so much time on a heretic to begin with.
@capone70 cont... And you suggest that I am in no position to speak out against people like you? I do not need to, because your own words indict you. You call fellow Christians 'senile, misguided fools', you call me 'effete', 'Satanic' and a host of other insults. But the facts remain. Your own words here pick you out as someone who is as far removed from Christ's love for all as that 'Satan' you accuse me of being. As I said earlier, may God forgive you your abject stupidity. Goodbye.
@MrJayguess it really doesn't matter. In this video it is a woman "ordaining" a woman is it not? Therefore my comment stands.
May the Lord make these women humble enough to accept the faith handed down from the apostles and to follow the One, Holy, Catholic & Apostolic Church in all Her holy teaching's, especially those most difficult for them to accept.
@Millingtorres No. The call of the Holy Spirit on these women is as valid as the call of the Holy Spirit on Catholic men. Or are you saying that you can second-guess God in confirming that he sends His Spirit only on RC men (even those prone to child abuse?)
"May the Lord make YOU humble enough to accept the faith revealed by the Holy Spirit in all His holy teachings especially those most difficult for YOU to accept."
@MrJayguess I pray the same prayer for myself, no problem at all.
Fortunately I don´t rely on my own personal interpretation of scripture (history shows what happens with this idea...). As Catholics we rely on Holy Mother Church for guidance since it´s the "pillar and foundation of truth" to which we go to resolve disputes. As such I don´t need to rely on myself or my own personal beliefs. Praise be to God for the wonderful gift of His Church which will be one in teaching and belief.
@Millingtorres So, if you totally rely on your 'Church' for 'truth' you are saying that as far as YOU are concerned, the Holy Spirit is only send on RC men - even those who later commit child rape. Yes or no.
If 'yes', why are you going against scripture and God's OWN words in the prophet Joel (2:28)
If 'no' why are you going against what your 'Church' teaches you?
So 'yes' or 'no' please.
BTW, the last time I came across someone who spoke like you, they were trapped in a cult.
@MrJayguess 1) the child sex abuse scandal really has nothing to do with this issue.
Regarding Joel, nothing the Church teaches goes against that. I´m not sure what point you´re making here. The Holy Spirit is God´s gift to all but for example St Paul makes distinctions between roles in the Church: some apostles, some teachers etc. it doesn´t mean equality in role..by your logic everyone had the role of the apostles in the early Church?
@Millingtorres 1. The child sex has a great deal to do with it. For if you are saying these women cannot be called by the HS to the priesthood simply because they are women, but men CAN - even if they are paedophilies (or is your 'God' not omniscent?) then there is something VERYwrong with the discernment process. And hence the teaching of your Church is flawed.
@MrJayguess my friend, you seem very angry. St Paul in his letter to the Corinthians says that a Bishop must be married to one woman. On top of this Jesus called only men to be His apotles despite having numerous women followers. On top of this no-where in the early Church do we see female priests.
@Millingtorres So why have celibate Bishops? You cannot quote Paul and abide by his 'rules' on one hand (eg his teaching for a SPECIFIC Church about women) and then ignore him on the other hand. That's cherrypicking.
In fact, in the form that the RC Church has them, nowhere in the early Church do we even see priests male or female. But we do see deacons - that were male AND female. AND prophets (male and female). AND Church leaders (male and female). Want more?
@MrJayguess furthermore regarding the teaching of my Church. According to your own ideas (presumably a personal interpretation of Scripture) you really have no way of telling whether your personal interpretation is any more correct that my personal one, or indeed the Catholic Church´s interpretation. Finding any objective way of knowing the truth could be difficult once you step outside of the traditional faith and move to a personal interpretation.
@Millingtorres The difference is that I do not pretend to be infallible. Ive studied scripture for 40+ years and have both a diploma and degree in theology from respected UK universities. I'm also ordained. Please don't be condescending.
And I am only angry at those Pharisaic bigots here who judge fellow human beings as 'senile misguided fools', 'satanic' and other wonderfully 'Christian' accolades. They should hang their heads in shame. Discussion over.
@MrJayguess interestingly your admitance of being "fallible" raises a difficult question for you I feel. If you are (by your own admitance) fallible and the "Church is the "pillar and foundation of truth" then where is the truth in the Church? As well, luckily since the Church is the pillar and foundation of truth as Catholics we don´t have to all be scriptural experts to know the true faith since it has been passed on and preserved since the first centuries by letter and word of mouth.
@Millingtorres ... and finally, if you wish to discuss scripture, let's do so in the original Greek. I'm up for it if you are - or do you think that Biblical Gk is not a valid way of 'interpreting' scripture because your priest tells you it's not?
Bah!
I pray that young Catholics like you (I note you are in your 20s in your profile) will one day be guided by the Holy Spirit into the way of CHRIST and not a corrupt organisation.CHRIST is the centre-not the ex-nazi pope.
@MrJayguess Hmm okay so you´ve just admitted yourself that you´re completely fallible and therefore (and most probably) by your own acknowledgement your interpretation could be wrong and you could indeed be preaching a false Gospel, meaning there´s no reason for anyone on this thread to listen to your views which as you said, may well be heresy. Even you yourself don´t know for sure..
Your final comment shows the bias and lack of knowledge you have despite 40 years study. God bless my friend!
@Millingtorres The Holy Spirit is indeed God's gift to ALL - and is not based on gender issues. Apart from one reference (where Paul is speaking about a specific situation at a specific time) nowgere does Paul EVER suggest gifts or the call of the Holy Spiritis gender-specific. On the contrary he makes it absolutely clear it is not (see Galatians 3:28). Only the RC Church, it seems, knows better in second-guessing that call as being irrelevant and 'false' if a woman is involved.
@MrJayguess I know that the Holy Spirit is God´s gift to ALL. It´s what I just said. But men and women are findamentally different. God even made us different physically, hence a man can´t give birth etc. So whilst God made us equal in His image, we are not the same and do not have the same role within the Church. St Paul in Corinthians makes it clear the different roles that women have quite clearly. In fact, I´m not sure if he could make it clearer. His gift is to all, but it´s different.
@MrJayguess 2) and yes I go by what the Church teaches because as stated in the Bible it´s "the pillar and foundation of the truth" 1 Tim 3:15. And again your point about being "trapped in a cult" is completely irrelevant to the issue. By your same logic I could say: the last person I know who followed the false Gospel of Sola Scriptura was trapped in a cult, therefore all who follow Sola Scriptura are cultists...it simply doesn´t follow and I´m not sure what point you were making.
@Millingtorres I thought my point was perfectly clear. You said " As such I don´t need to rely on myself or my own personal beliefs. Praise be to God for the wonderful gift of His Church which will be one in teaching and belief." In other words, you do not think for yourself. You do not pray to the HS for guidance. You do not use the intelligence God has given you. Instead you worship an organisation (or seem to) that you will never question.
@Millingtorres As i stated (but you twisted words0 the pope and the Church he represents claims infallibility. Yet that same pope condoned child rape. That same church murdered millions (the Cathars, Belgrade massacre, crusades), were complicit in the holocaust (Pope Pius did nothing to intervene) and introduced false doctrine (eg purgatory and indulgences) which were the cause of the Lutheran split.
Infallible? Please explain why this is so bearing in mind its evil.
@MrJayguess 1) whilst clearly you haven´t studied history fully I´m as appauled as you by acts that some people have committed in the Church as well (not only limited to Catholics btw). It doesn´t affect the fact that Jesus said that He would be with His Church, that the Church is the pillar and foundation of truth etc. so the "truth" must be being taught somewhere. You don´t leave the disciples because of Judas´betrayal...
@MrJayguess 2) Since we know that the Church is guaranteed to teach the truth, we now must make an honest search for it. You´ve openly admitted on this very page that you don´t have it (or at least you have no idea if you do) so now you must go and look for it, an objective way of knowing who has the truth and where the true teaching lies not based on personal (and by your own admission totally fallible) interpretation of texts you can´t be sure even belong. It exists, just search for it openly.
The true Holy Catholic Church cannot and I say again cannot have women priests. Whatever these people are doing in this video is invalid. These people are blind to the truth of Jesus true teaching. I pray that these women take their pride away and humble themselves to God. They will be held accountable for what they are doing and even more so by leading others to error.
@TheLmaoman But the 'true Holy Catholic Church' can have bigoted offensive members, it seems, and a priesthood, a significant number of which can rape children and get away with it.
Yes, these people ARE blind to the truth of Jesus' teaching.
And I also pray that the bigots on tis page will be held accountable for what they are doing and even more so by leading others to error.
This is a shameful mockery of the Christian Church. May God forgive these Charlatans trying to impersonate Christian Ministers. They should consecrate a few men as Nuns to complete this mockery of the Christian Faith and blasphemous ecclesiastical Floor Show!!
@damianlekki1 Don't call them vulgar names. They are misguided and in error and schismatic is sufficient. They might even be heretical, but their doctrine would have to be examined by the authorities of the One True Authorized Church..
Don't get me wrong the Church has some faults but if you think that the ordination of women is among them, then i am sorry but you are sorely mistaken. It is our foundation, not because of our separation but because of our unity. The Church is the Bride of Christ, and the priests are devoted to 'her'. Like the Nuns are married to Christ. So why would Christ change this? Answer me that, why now? Because of some horribly perverted men who disgraced themselves? We have seen that before you know.
@jromanr01 Correction: 'Our unity'? in a recent poll 67% of US Catholics wanted to defy the pope and wanted women priests. In the UK it is 87%. Even in Ireland, one of the most Catholic countries in Europe, 92% of Catholics use, or consider using artificial contraception. Vatican 2 creating unity? It's created the exact opposite. Perhaps Christ IS changing it. At long last. And bringing the RCC back to as it began and not a corrupt organisation as it is now.
@MrJayguess Did Jesus ever take a poll to know what to teach? Did the apostles ask people what they wanted to hear? Things like that happen to some "accommodating" churches like the Anglican/Episcopal, Methodists, and the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, among others, and look what it has brought them: severe decline in numbers. Pity the poor orthodox Christians among them in a quandary about their churches' dereliction. Many Episcopalians are becoming Catholics.
@FRAGIORGIO1 As I've said before I've done with you. You have just filled my inbox with a load of rhetorical propaganda, much of which is regurgitated from your priest's mouth rather than fact, or even Christian love it seems.
If you believe the lie "Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus" then I pity you. For I am saved by grace. Should we meet in heaven, for you it would be hell - for you will share it for eternity with those here you could not stand for just a few decades. Goobye for good.
@MrJayguess I do not need to go to a priest to know what to say. I studied theology for four years, but mostly I have read very amply among the Early Father --something you Should have done in seminary or before writing rubbish-- the Bible, and Church documents. Moreover, I have been a History buff since a child, nourished in the Encyclopaedia Britannica since I was about 10 years old, and I have read amply since then. I recommend it to you, but Reliable and Serious authors,
@MrJayguess These comments in your channel you can just erase. I am clearing up the thought on this comment line related to your comments or of others. Just eliminate any of my comments on your channel, I repeat. Since the Church is the Body of Christ, according to St. Paul, Yes, Outside of the Church there is no salvation, which does Not mean one has to be a Catholic, but that the Catholic Church is the Sign and Vehicle of Salvation as Body of Christ.
@FRAGIORGIO1 And rather than discuss things in private as I suggested, you continue to write message after message here, presumably so that others can see how 'wonderful' you are. But you're still a whitewashed tomb, like those on this page who call them 'devil-women', 'crazy bitches', 'charlatans' and so on.
When you eventually see God face to face may he forgive you your bigotry here on earth, and your clutching to an organisation rather than Him. Remember Matt 7:21-23; 25:31-46
@MrJayguess l Why should we "discuss in private" your incursions in this public forum? If it were something personal for you alone, it would be different, but you carry on here. I see you're still judgemental, calling me a white washed tomb and condemn me to hell. I would not do that to you, since it is only Jesus who judges. The "organization" that you are talking about like an unbeliever, is the Church that JESUS HIMSELF founded upon Peter/Kepha and the other apostles.
@MrJayguess The doctrinal and moral deviations of many Protestant churches are causing more orthodox Christians to leave their corrupted churches to seek the unity and sound doctrine that Christ guaranteed to His only Church for All nations, and therefore, Catholic meaning "universal".
@MrJayguess There have been agreements with the Mar Jacob Syrian Orthodox Church bringing close to unity, with the Assyrians, and the Agreement on Justification with Lutherans, among others.
@FRAGIORGIO1 As i said, I have done with you. Please do not contact me again, nor clutter up my inbox. Go back to your ecclesiastical exclusive club. Good day. And I am praying that one day the Holy Spirit will guide you into Christ's likeness rather than you remain in the clutches of papal oppression. I will not reply again so please,as I have asked respectfully, do not contact me.
@MrJayguess ''''corrupt organization" bleats Jayguess, guessing and accusing wildly while demanding that others not be "judgemental" !! What incoherency and never defining "corrupt", although he did say that having art works in the basements was "corruption" !! Amazing logic!
Another thing that has bothered me about this issue. They claim that the Holy Spirit, who has often worked with the Church, is guiding them. If they are devout Christians and if they know their history then wouldn't they remember early Church history where Christ sent the spirit to the 12 in order that 'He', as has often been pointed out, would guide all of us as a continuance of God's love for us. It just seems like political convenience.
@jromanr0 Corrections: 1. If you knew your scriptures, the Holy Spirit came upon ALL the believers - including Mary (Acts 1: 12-14, 2:1) and other women. 2. The Hebrew for Holy Spirit (Ruach) is a FEMININE noun so the Spirit SHOULD be called 'she'. 3. Political convenience? you are calling the guidance of the Holy Spirit 'political convenience'? May God forgive you.
@MrJayguess Dude, you are horribly wrong, Dont you know that just because a word is classified as feminine does not make the word feminine. Look it up. Second only Mary was present, and SHE is the mother of God. 3. You keep calling up the Holy Spirit as if he is a Prophet or something. HE is part of GOD. Get it? If he wanted me to fall on my knees say I was wrong and proclaim a new Pope, HE could do it. Jesus confided that against Peter (Pope to be) that the fire of "Hell" wouldn't prevail.
@jromanr01 1. Don't call me 'dude'. 2. The word is feminine, period. 3.Another correction; acts 1:13-14 "13 When they arrived, they went upstairs to the room where they were staying. Those present were Peter, John, James and Andrew; Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew; James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James. 14 They all joined together constantly in prayer, ALONG WITH THE WOMEN and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers."
@MrJayguess Correct that the word in Aramaic and Hebrew is feminine: "Ruah", but the fact that the Spirit came down upon all did not make them all Presbyters or Bishops. We All receive the Spirit at Confirmation, as the apostles Peter and John were sent to Samaria to convey the Holy Spirit upon those who had only received baptism (Act 8: 14-17). The apostles laid hands on them, but only to give them the Spirit and not to make them all presbyters/priests/elders.
@jromanr01 Heyy Dude! you know what? alot of catholics they really dont read the Bible.. Where in the Bible tha say's Peter is the Pope?? that you claimed he is? in the bible. the christians should base their belief not with the Roman pagan religion! its abominable to God.. the Bible forbid to call any professing spirtual leader a Father or Rabbi Matthew 23:8-9 and Peter the apostle of Christ is not the founder of pagan roman catholic church and he is not the First pope as they claimed.
@jyan1969 The Bible came out of the Catholic Church, since it was written by members of the One Church Jesus founded and the books were declared as Inspired by Catholic bishops in the first centuries of Christianity. Jesus made Simon bar Yona the Rock (Kepha in Aramaic, Jesus' language) on earth of His Church and as a sign or unity and a promoter of doctrinal correctness. Read Matthew 16:18-19 and understand that the name Peter (Petros in Greek) was a translation of Kepha.
@jyan1969 Pagan Rome was conquered by Christian Rome when Constantine gave toleration and support to the Catholic Christian Church in 314 AD. Did you ever hear about the martyrs in the Catacombs in Rome and the burial places of Peter and Paul under two large churches that bear their names in Rome. Ancient Christian writers tell how Peter and Paul founded the church in Rome. Irenaeus of Lyons around 190 AD tells of the 11 who followed Peter as bishop of Rome. (cont.)
@jyan1969 The martyr Cyprian of Carthage (near modern Tunis in Tunisia) wrote around 251 about "The Unity of the Catholic Church" pointing out that the unity of Christians revolved around the successor of Peter in Rome, as it continues today almost 1,800 years later. Jesus gave the keys to the kingdom of heaven to Peter, saying that He was founding His Church on him as a "Rock", and that the gates of hell wouldn't prevail against it (Matt 16: 18-19).
@MrJayguess God Forgive ME? Im sorry but who the HELL are you to judge? I love God with all my heart mind body and soul. If i am wrong I will take it! WHAT ABOUT U? The Catholic Church has been here before your ancestor left the nomads (unless your italian). It is about HIM.
@jromanr01Tthen if it is about HIM, you will obey his will and not the man-made rules of a corrupt organisation. If you want to talk about being judgmental, just look at the offensive comments made on this page - exclusively from Catholics calling the women 'crazy bitches'; where YOU declare unilaterally it is 'not from God but about power' (evidence?) & other crassly offensive remarks. If you love God as you say, you have certainly not loved these women as you love yourself. And that matters.
@MrJayguess It is not for YOU to judge when the Spirit acts just because some person says the Spirit moves them. Judgement on this belongs to the successors of the apostles in communion with the successor of the "glorious apostles Peter and Paul" who founded the Church of Rome (Irenaeus of Lyons, "Adversus Haereses" bk 3 ch 3) with the power of binding and loosing on earth (Matt 16: 18-10). Neither You nor these people have any power to decide when the Holy Spirit is acting.
@MrJayguess Talk about judgemental, Your words regarding the popes of the last 70 reflected a perverted and malicious mindset. Moreover, you are an Anglican, and Not a Nice one (I've met many nice Anglicans). Your church withdrew from the universal communion almost 500 years ago as a national church under a secular leader, the monarch -and afterwards till today, parliament with all kinds of believers and non-believers. I doubt your own CofE bishop would agree with your judgement.
@MrJayguess These people disobey the Holy Church founded and authorized by Jesus in rebellion to its authority, and all the while what guides them is the latest ideological and politcal fashions. They have No Authority.
@MrJayguess I was the one who told you some days ago not to use the word "He" for the Holy Spirit because of its feminine gender in Aramaic (Jesus' language) and Hebrew, and now you "instruct" "jromanr0" ?
@FRAGIORGIO1 Presently ive agreed with everything youve said, i might be misunderstanding your question for me however. In my bias as a Roman Catholic i believe that the Spirit which guides a truly righteous and God fearing person will help them towards what God desires. But these people seem to be in direct contrast with what he wants. The sects of Catholicism, well i couldn't say. Im no judge as i stated to MrJayguess, though he may blatantly judge others, i feel that there are some...
@jromanr01 very fine christians and i pray that one day we will all reunite, and the truth will be revealed. I wish that those who understood greek, and roman, could get to the heart of the matter instead of attacking this like a math problem (although maybe that is what theology is?) Im asking if this is moral and just for these women to assume authority over 2K years and say WE know better.
@jromanr01 I'm sorry! By mistake, I addressed You when I meant to address MrJayguess, so I removed my comment. You are right. The Spirit can guide a humble and god-fearing person, but anything institutional of the Church must be guided by the Authorized leaders of the Church. Again, sorry for my mix up.
Okay, well you didn't answer any of the reasons i had. One all of the arguments you have made are overused. But i understand that a broken record is hard to put away. I was merely arguing for the issue that this immoral in the eyes of devout Roman Catholics. Like the bill presented by the President it is wrong by our beliefs. If you want to disagree well join the millions of others who disagree with religions not of their own. If this is about equality well you are still staring at its founder.
@jromanr01 Where is your argument here? You are equating the RCC with Obama's health reforms? Huh?
By the way, I suggest you come here to the UK and see what his health reforms would bring. Our National Health Service, despite its faults, is still the envy of the world. WE get totally free health service dependent on need and not on ability to pay, or on the quality of any health insurance. It's paid for through our taxes. And it seems we also pay less tax than you!
@MrJayguess Yeah i saw your health care, bang up job. I was sick with a stupid sinus infection and they couldn't help. PLUS I WONDER WHO has the best Doctors in the world? Anyways me comparing the issues has to do with current American politics, i assumed you were an American.
@jromanr01 The best doctors in the world? Well, according to the WHO and pro-rata population, the UK wins hands down. Sorry you didn't get any satisfaction wiith our National Health Service; it seems even they cannot yet perform a brain transplant. However, having said that, you don't need one. By the way you speak, it seems you haven't used the one you have now, yet, have you?
@MrJayguess And you denounce people for being judgemental while insulting "jromanr01"? That is incoherent on your part, but you have been judging everyone here that disagrees with you and have condemned me to hell because I disagree with you !
@MrJayguess He is arguing that there were many strong protests of Catholics and other Christians about the attempt to Force Christian hospitals to promote material and acts that they could not perform in good conscience, such as abortion and birth control. This attempt to strong-arm Christian schools, hospitals, and other institutions could eventually and probably affect the Forcing of Homosexual "marriage" services that most Christian institutions and others do not agree with.
If they truly cared they would serve the poor, for that is one of the greatest acts that you can do for your faith. Instead they have decided to work at a political career in a place where they KNOW it is wrong to go. They have tried to harm, insult, and shame their church. What great pride must be theirs to know that they think they know better than Christ. I know i don't. I know that equality is the best of our Republic, but what shame must be ours to know that we will step on our own founders
@jromanr01 Actually he didn't. Read the Bible. Did he lay hands on him & confer the Holy Spirit & the authority to perform the mass? No. Nor anyone else. & the 'rock' statement is misunderstood if you look at the Greek. The Church was built on Peter's attitude & not Peter himself. In the early Church women presided as well as men. Why? Because priesthood as the RCC understands was a later man-made invention as the Church became formalised & has NOTHING to do with Christ's teaching.
@MrJayguess Holy Spirit wasn't introduced until after Christ had died and risen. So of course not. What attitude? That he was stubborn? This whole man only issue has gone on for nigh on 2 thousand years, and there has never been a female ordained Priest. And there never will be as long as the Catholic Church IS the Catholic Church. If you again disagree then good for YOU. Just find another Faith! If anyone wants to disagree then talk to the Vatican!
@jromanr01 1. "The Holy Spirit wasn't introduced until after Christ?" Then HOW did Isaiah prophesy? WHO came upon Gideon (Jud. 6:34)? And the hundreds of times the Spirit came? 2. Peter stubborn? Do you READ your Bible? Peter recognised Christ as divine and upon this TRUTH Jesus built his Church. Do you actually KNOW any Greek?
3. " If anyone wants to disagree then talk to the Vatican!" No thanks. I pray to God instead rather than cowtow to a corrupt organisation.
@jromanr01 MrJayguess is an Anglican clergyman, so he speaks this way in order to ignore Jesus' clear building of His Church on the Rock (Kepha) that was Petros (Kepha translated into Greek as a man's name). This is what eats at him.
@MrJayguess You are Quite Wrong. Jesus changed the name of Shimon bar Yona to "Kepha" in His Aramaic language, and Kepha means Rock. Jesus is the Eternal Rock of Faith, but He put a Rock on earth to promote and preserve Correct Doctrine, saying that "upon this Kepha (Rock) I shall build My Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I shall give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven, and what you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven" (Matt 16: 18-19).
@MrJayguess Kepha's name had to be translated into Greek, which was the language of the great majority of Jews (and Gentiles) in the Eastern Mediterranean, so they took the feminine noun "petra" and made it masculine for Kepha, thus resulting "Petros), by which name he is always mentioned, except a couple of times Paul (who had been Shaul) calls him "Kephas", with the Greek masculine "s" added onto his name for clarification. Peter and Paul were the founders of the church of Rome.
@MrJayguess The martyr St. Ignatius of Antioch around 110 AD wrote to the Romans that he could not teach them as Peter had. St Irenaeus of Lyons, disciple of the martyr St Polycarp of Smyrna (155 AD), a disciple of St. John the Apostle in Ephesos, wrote that the Roman church was founded by Peter and Paul and that all other churches had to be in agreement with it (Adversus Haereses bk3 ch3), and he mentions 11 popes after Peter till around 190 AD..
@MrJayguess Jesus changed Simon's name to Rock (Kepha in Aramaic, Jesus' word), gave him the keys to the kingdom of heaven and power to bind and loose on earth with confirmation in heaven (Matt 16; 18-19), which powers He gave the others as well later, breathed the Spirit on them (John 20: 22-23) and sent them to teach all He had commanded them promising to be with them until the end of the world (Matt 28: 18-20). Hands needed???
@MrJayguess There is NO evidence that women presided. Jesus commissioned only His apostles to celebrate the Mass/Eucharist at the Last Supper saying "Take and eat; this is My body. Drink; this is My Blood. Do this in memory of Me". They passed that power on to their Authorized disciples and successors. As an Anglican seminarian, you must have read Irenaeus and Cyprian of Carthage (257 AD) on the unity of the Church being necessary, and both based unity on Peter, the Rock.
@MrJayguess Jesus said to Peter in particular: "Feed My lambs; feed My sheep" (John 21: 15-17), an argument used by Cyprian of Carthage regarding Peter/Kepha as the Rock of unity on Earth for Jesus' One Church (from "De Ecclesiae Catholicae Unitate") This is a solid backup from the church in North Africa (Libya, Tunisia, and Algeria) since he was the principal bishop or metropolitan of that area in Carthage.
@MrJayguess Jesus told the apostles to "do this in Memory of Me", which is what they did and their legitimate successors do. You insist on the Greek difference between "Petros" a masculine name and "petra" a feminine noun, but Jesus called Simon bar Yona "Kepha" (Rock) and said He was founding His Church on that rock (Kepha) and gave him the keys to the kingdom of heaven and the power of binding and loosing on earth with heaven's ratification !
@MrJayguess Jesus constituted Peter and the other apostles with the power of binding and loosing on earth, forgiving sins, and teaching all nations to observe All that He had commanded them. The sects or subdivisions of the believers into separate churches or communities do not have all power on earth to do those things. They can teach part of them (and that could be good), but to go Against His Church is a grave sin, because it is going against Jesus and the Spirit.
@jromanr01 I'm allowed to say that as I'm ordained myself. And WEAR a dog collar. So please don't try to 'blind' me with doctrine or scripture as you won't win the argument. Apart from the sacramental side, the 'dog collar' is just one way of opening doors to minister to the poor. And to judge these women as not doing so with absolutely NO evidence for your assertion is absurd.
@MrJayguess l He "won't win the argument" because you "know" so much? You ignore and twist scripture and ignore the early Church Fathers. You do Not seek Truth, only to "win" an argument. Sad. You Ignore the clear words of Jesus and other scriptures. Not a good sign.
The Pope is the bishop of Rome, right? So if the Bishop, is given the power by God and by the people doesn't that mean that he has some authority over issues. And lets say that the Apostles are like the Supreme Court, they didn't make decisions rather they uphold the laws that were given by God to us. Doesn't that mean that ignoring their decisions is breaking the law? That is what this is, it is choosing to attack a belief because of ignorance. If these women truly cared about the church...
@jromanr01 1. "So if the Bishop, is given the power by God.. he has some authority over issues" No. If that were so, popes like Alexander VI, Damasc I, Benedict IX and a host of others could claim that the diabolic, evil atrocities they committed were 'God's will'.
2. " laws that were given by God to us" No. The Church's 'Laws' bear no relationship to what Christ actually taught.
3. "attack a belief because of ignorance" LOL I think I could probably teach YOU a thing or two.
For those educated enough to attack those who find this offensive, i have to ask where did you receive this training? Where did you receive this knowledge. Did you know that Universities were protected by the Church when many towns wanted to attack them because there was ignorance and anger? Mankind hasn't changed. Anger and hatred exist still today though we have adapted to make it more potent and deadly. When the Church goes, so goes something invisible and so special you couldn't fathom it.
Ive said it before and i will say it again, THIS IS NOT about GOD. God deigned that there is some division between men and women. This is proven thoughout the world and in genetics. Women, you are not inferior this is proven by God's grace, testimony, and Mother Mary. Feminism was invented with Jesus Christ. This isn't about God or Equality however, this is about POWER. Who made these women supreme heads of the Catholic Church? Who decided they should decide doctrines older than this Country?
@jromanr01 I am sorry, but you are talking garbage. You ask "Who decided they should decide doctrines older than this Country?" He is someone called the Holy Spirit who has clearly called these women into ordained ministry just has He has across the rest of the Christian Church (such as women Anglican priests). Unless you can prove that the Holy Spirit ONLY acts among RC men (including those prone to child rape) I suggest you accept these women and pray for their ministries.
@chalopinocho Exacto y correcto. Es la Autoridad en la Iglesia que decide si hay una inspiracion del Espiritu Santo. Si no fuera asi', cada loco seria autorizado!
@FRAGIORGIO1 thnx bro I read that news longtime ago in the US thats theres a women priest ordained in the catholic church in America.. so they are split off. this people contradict the teachings and doctrine of catholic church! and they made their own tradition.
@jyan1969 simply as PROTESTANTS period. we dont ordain women as priests. this video is hallucinating. they'r just using ROMAN CATHOLIC so they can be viewed anytime by Catholics searching Catholic programs. i guess u know alrdy that Catholics hav no women priests. i know u know. accept it. dont be shy hehehe

RoRaf74 2 weeks ago
@RoRaf74 .... in your misguided and Spirit-denying opinion.
MrJayguess 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess: I see now that you are a scholar and ordained priest. Well then, where you get your idea that women can become priests? Did Jesus Christ chose one as his apostle? Since you call on people here to follow Christ, I suggest you go first. Would you kindly answer this simple question? There can be discussion about celibacy, of course. But this is different. Why would the Saviour not choose a woman among his disciples, if he wanted female priests?
RoRaf74 2 weeks ago
@RoRaf74 The 12 apostles are irrelevant. Can you name ONE person in scripture, just one, male OR female, that Jesus conferred the 'priesthood' (as modern RCs would understand it) on? There were ordained deacons of course, many of whom were women. There were also Church leaders who'd have presided at the Eucharist (the core priestly role) who were female . But the priesthood as the RCC understands, was a later invention - after women were suppressed as they have been throughout history.
MrJayguess 2 weeks ago
@MRJayguess: get your facts straight. Benedict did not condone child rape. Church did not murder anybody, people in the church did, which is suite a difference. Complicit in the holocaust? Please, read something about Pius XII, but not from "liberal" historians or journalists. Please. The same for "false" doctrines of purgatory and indulgences. That is wrong again, and secondly, Luther criticised the abuse of those, not the idea itself. But to the video here: NO woman can become priest.
RoRaf74 2 weeks ago

Our Lord certainly didn't.
capone70 2 weeks ago
@capone70 You're so wrong.. First, I'm ordained myself. Second, I've been a Christian for nigh on 45 years. And I probably know more of 'Christianity' than you. Moreover, Our Lord's teaching said NOTHING about the priesthood - whether male or female. As an example, name me ONE person Christ ordained 'priest' as the RCC church would understand it today. In fact name one person in the New Testament ordained as 'priest' There are none. Only deacons - and many of them were female!
MrJayguess 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess "ordained" by whom? And under what "authority"? As an unverified figure on the internet, your "credentials" really don't matter. But to answer, Our Lord conferred the sacrament of reconciliation to His apostles in Matt 18:18; all male apostles. We believe in apostolic succession. The word "priest" is not used, but nor is "Trinity", yet both are clearly outlined in the gospels. Do I need to explain what the gospels are to you?
capone70 2 weeks ago
@capone70 Ordained an Anglican under the authority of my bishop. And before you state that the Anglican Church is not 'in communion' with Rome, I couldn't care less about the pope's rules. What really matters is the apostolic succession that BOTH Churches claim. Not even the idea of 'priest' is seen in the NT. The ONLY priestly function is presiding at the mass and this was carried out by both women as well as men in the frist 2 centuries (eg Lydia - also see 'Fractio Panis').
MrJayguess 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess LOL. Your "authority" comes from the cod-piece of your lecherous king Henry VIII. The difference here is we follow Christ, you follow your fat, syphillitic king. You have no apostolic succession; spare us the indignities of this pittiable argument. The only good Anglicans who really care about Apostolic succession are now Uniate and in full communion with Rome. In sum: keep your little dying heretic cult out of Gods' church. These priestesses should join you, and not vice versa.

Yes, discussions are over, you offensive diabolic bigot.
MrJayguess 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess get the behind me, Satan! You are one to talk about "priests" (hah!) raping little boys. The Anglican church has long been in the lead there. And get this, heretic, you are NOT in any position to decide what is Christian or un-Christian. Discussion closed.
capone70 2 weeks ago
@capone70 Hmmm According to the reports, between 1950 and 2002 in the US alone 4% of RC priests were accused of child abuse. In the C orf E that figure was 0.39%. Those figures represent around 1600 priests in the US alone, and a couple of dozen in the Anglican Church which, by Church law each church HAS to have a child protection officer and policy.
Stop blurting out evil nonsense and learn some tolerance of others outside your narrow, bigoted antiChristian 'religion'.
MrJayguess 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess Gee, heretic, hard to argue with something as nebulous as "the reports". According to the Free Republic 10% (that's more than 4...isn't it) ministers of the Anglican communion have been accused of paedophilia. And this is of course after the fact that your sect has opened the doors wide for priestesses, married/gay clergy etc. Kind of puts that "anything goes" argument against celibacy to rest, doesn't it?
capone70 1 week ago
@capone70 Free republic? never heard of it. Unless you refer to the 'activist' website where people can post all sorts of trash. Must be reliable stuff then! My reports come from the BBC News, NY Times, John Jay Criminal Justice reports, and various studies done by Oxford Uni. Not reliable enough?
10% of clergy? Utter bilge. Like to put that in writing and sign it? I'll post it to the Archbishop, Lambeth Palace, London
(By the way, I can recommend a good libel lawyer you silly man).

MrJayguess 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess it really doesn't matter. In this video it is a woman "ordaining" a woman is it not? Therefore my comment stands.
May the Lord make these women humble enough to accept the faith handed down from the apostles and to follow the One, Holy, Catholic & Apostolic Church in all Her holy teaching's, especially those most difficult for them to accept.
Millingtorres 2 weeks ago
@Millingtorres No. The call of the Holy Spirit on these women is as valid as the call of the Holy Spirit on Catholic men. Or are you saying that you can second-guess God in confirming that he sends His Spirit only on RC men (even those prone to child abuse?)
"May the Lord make YOU humble enough to accept the faith revealed by the Holy Spirit in all His holy teachings especially those most difficult for YOU to accept."
MrJayguess 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess I pray the same prayer for myself, no problem at all.
Fortunately I don´t rely on my own personal interpretation of scripture (history shows what happens with this idea...). As Catholics we rely on Holy Mother Church for guidance since it´s the "pillar and foundation of truth" to which we go to resolve disputes. As such I don´t need to rely on myself or my own personal beliefs. Praise be to God for the wonderful gift of His Church which will be one in teaching and belief.
Millingtorres 2 weeks ago
@Millingtorres So, if you totally rely on your 'Church' for 'truth' you are saying that as far as YOU are concerned, the Holy Spirit is only send on RC men - even those who later commit child rape. Yes or no.
If 'yes', why are you going against scripture and God's OWN words in the prophet Joel (2:28)
If 'no' why are you going against what your 'Church' teaches you?
So 'yes' or 'no' please.
BTW, the last time I came across someone who spoke like you, they were trapped in a cult.
MrJayguess 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess 1) the child sex abuse scandal really has nothing to do with this issue.
Regarding Joel, nothing the Church teaches goes against that. I´m not sure what point you´re making here. The Holy Spirit is God´s gift to all but for example St Paul makes distinctions between roles in the Church: some apostles, some teachers etc. it doesn´t mean equality in role..by your logic everyone had the role of the apostles in the early Church?
Millingtorres 2 weeks ago
@Millingtorres 1. The child sex has a great deal to do with it. For if you are saying these women cannot be called by the HS to the priesthood simply because they are women, but men CAN - even if they are paedophilies (or is your 'God' not omniscent?) then there is something VERYwrong with the discernment process. And hence the teaching of your Church is flawed.
MrJayguess 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess my friend, you seem very angry. St Paul in his letter to the Corinthians says that a Bishop must be married to one woman. On top of this Jesus called only men to be His apotles despite having numerous women followers. On top of this no-where in the early Church do we see female priests.
Millingtorres 2 weeks ago
@Millingtorres So why have celibate Bishops? You cannot quote Paul and abide by his 'rules' on one hand (eg his teaching for a SPECIFIC Church about women) and then ignore him on the other hand. That's cherrypicking.
In fact, in the form that the RC Church has them, nowhere in the early Church do we even see priests male or female. But we do see deacons - that were male AND female. AND prophets (male and female). AND Church leaders (male and female). Want more?
MrJayguess 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess furthermore regarding the teaching of my Church. According to your own ideas (presumably a personal interpretation of Scripture) you really have no way of telling whether your personal interpretation is any more correct that my personal one, or indeed the Catholic Church´s interpretation. Finding any objective way of knowing the truth could be difficult once you step outside of the traditional faith and move to a personal interpretation.
Millingtorres 2 weeks ago
@Millingtorres The difference is that I do not pretend to be infallible. Ive studied scripture for 40+ years and have both a diploma and degree in theology from respected UK universities. I'm also ordained. Please don't be condescending.
And I am only angry at those Pharisaic bigots here who judge fellow human beings as 'senile misguided fools', 'satanic' and other wonderfully 'Christian' accolades. They should hang their heads in shame. Discussion over.
MrJayguess 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess interestingly your admitance of being "fallible" raises a difficult question for you I feel. If you are (by your own admitance) fallible and the "Church is the "pillar and foundation of truth" then where is the truth in the Church? As well, luckily since the Church is the pillar and foundation of truth as Catholics we don´t have to all be scriptural experts to know the true faith since it has been passed on and preserved since the first centuries by letter and word of mouth.
Millingtorres 2 weeks ago
@Millingtorres ... and finally, if you wish to discuss scripture, let's do so in the original Greek. I'm up for it if you are - or do you think that Biblical Gk is not a valid way of 'interpreting' scripture because your priest tells you it's not?
Bah!
I pray that young Catholics like you (I note you are in your 20s in your profile) will one day be guided by the Holy Spirit into the way of CHRIST and not a corrupt organisation.CHRIST is the centre-not the ex-nazi pope.
Goodbye.
MrJayguess 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess Hmm okay so you´ve just admitted yourself that you´re completely fallible and therefore (and most probably) by your own acknowledgement your interpretation could be wrong and you could indeed be preaching a false Gospel, meaning there´s no reason for anyone on this thread to listen to your views which as you said, may well be heresy. Even you yourself don´t know for sure..
Your final comment shows the bias and lack of knowledge you have despite 40 years study. God bless my friend!
Millingtorres 2 weeks ago
@Millingtorres The Holy Spirit is indeed God's gift to ALL - and is not based on gender issues. Apart from one reference (where Paul is speaking about a specific situation at a specific time) nowgere does Paul EVER suggest gifts or the call of the Holy Spiritis gender-specific. On the contrary he makes it absolutely clear it is not (see Galatians 3:28). Only the RC Church, it seems, knows better in second-guessing that call as being irrelevant and 'false' if a woman is involved.
MrJayguess 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess I know that the Holy Spirit is God´s gift to ALL. It´s what I just said. But men and women are findamentally different. God even made us different physically, hence a man can´t give birth etc. So whilst God made us equal in His image, we are not the same and do not have the same role within the Church. St Paul in Corinthians makes it clear the different roles that women have quite clearly. In fact, I´m not sure if he could make it clearer. His gift is to all, but it´s different.
Millingtorres 2 weeks ago

Oh no! Are you a JW in disguise?
MrJayguess 2 weeks ago
@Millingtorres As i stated (but you twisted words0 the pope and the Church he represents claims infallibility. Yet that same pope condoned child rape. That same church murdered millions (the Cathars, Belgrade massacre, crusades), were complicit in the holocaust (Pope Pius did nothing to intervene) and introduced false doctrine (eg purgatory and indulgences) which were the cause of the Lutheran split.
Infallible? Please explain why this is so bearing in mind its evil.
MrJayguess 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess 1) whilst clearly you haven´t studied history fully I´m as appauled as you by acts that some people have committed in the Church as well (not only limited to Catholics btw). It doesn´t affect the fact that Jesus said that He would be with His Church, that the Church is the pillar and foundation of truth etc. so the "truth" must be being taught somewhere. You don´t leave the disciples because of Judas´betrayal...
Millingtorres 2 weeks ago

We have seen that before you know.
jromanr01 3 weeks ago
@jromanr01 Correction: 'Our unity'? in a recent poll 67% of US Catholics wanted to defy the pope and wanted women priests. In the UK it is 87%. Even in Ireland, one of the most Catholic countries in Europe, 92% of Catholics use, or consider using artificial contraception. Vatican 2 creating unity? It's created the exact opposite. Perhaps Christ IS changing it. At long last. And bringing the RCC back to as it began and not a corrupt organisation as it is now.
MrJayguess 3 weeks ago
@MrJayguess Did Jesus ever take a poll to know what to teach? Did the apostles ask people what they wanted to hear? Things like that happen to some "accommodating" churches like the Anglican/Episcopal, Methodists, and the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, among others, and look what it has brought them: severe decline in numbers. Pity the poor orthodox Christians among them in a quandary about their churches' dereliction. Many Episcopalians are becoming Catholics.

FRAGIORGIO1 2 weeks ago
Another thing that has bothered me about this issue. They claim that the Holy Spirit, who has often worked with the Church, is guiding them. If they are devout Christians and if they know their history then wouldn't they remember early Church history where Christ sent the spirit to the 12 in order that 'He', as has often been pointed out, would guide all of us as a continuance of God's love for us. It just seems like political convenience.
jromanr01 3 weeks ago
@jromanr0 Corrections: 1. If you knew your scriptures, the Holy Spirit came upon ALL the believers - including Mary (Acts 1: 12-14, 2:1) and other women. 2. The Hebrew for Holy Spirit (Ruach) is a FEMININE noun so the Spirit SHOULD be called 'she'. 3. Political convenience? you are calling the guidance of the Holy Spirit 'political convenience'? May God forgive you.
MrJayguess 3 weeks ago
@MrJayguess Dude, you are horribly wrong, Dont you know that just because a word is classified as feminine does not make the word feminine. Look it up. Second only Mary was present, and SHE is the mother of God. 3. You keep calling up the Holy Spirit as if he is a Prophet or something. HE is part of GOD. Get it? If he wanted me to fall on my knees say I was wrong and proclaim a new Pope, HE could do it. Jesus confided that against Peter (Pope to be) that the fire of "Hell" wouldn't prevail.
jromanr01 3 weeks ago
@jromanr01 1. Don't call me 'dude'. 2. The word is feminine, period. 3.Another correction; acts 1:13-14 "13 When they arrived, they went upstairs to the room where they were staying. Those present were Peter, John, James and Andrew; Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew; James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James. 14 They all joined together constantly in prayer, ALONG WITH THE WOMEN and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers."
MrJayguess 2 weeks ago

Where in the Bible tha say's Peter is the Pope?? that you claimed he is? in the bible. the christians should base their belief not with the Roman pagan religion! its abominable to God.. the Bible forbid to call any professing spirtual leader a Father or Rabbi Matthew 23:8-9 and Peter the apostle of Christ is not the founder of pagan roman catholic church and he is not the First pope as they claimed.
jyan1969 2 weeks ago
@jyan1969 The Bible came out of the Catholic Church, since it was written by members of the One Church Jesus founded and the books were declared as Inspired by Catholic bishops in the first centuries of Christianity. Jesus made Simon bar Yona the Rock (Kepha in Aramaic, Jesus' language) on earth of His Church and as a sign or unity and a promoter of doctrinal correctness. Read Matthew 16:18-19 and understand that the name Peter (Petros in Greek) was a translation of Kepha.
FRAGIORGIO1 2 weeks ago
@jyan1969 Pagan Rome was conquered by Christian Rome when Constantine gave toleration and support to the Catholic Christian Church in 314 AD. Did you ever hear about the martyrs in the Catacombs in Rome and the burial places of Peter and Paul under two large churches that bear their names in Rome. Ancient Christian writers tell how Peter and Paul founded the church in Rome. Irenaeus of Lyons around 190 AD tells of the 11 who followed Peter as bishop of Rome. (cont.)
FRAGIORGIO1 2 weeks ago

It is about HIM.
jromanr01 3 weeks ago
@jromanr01Tthen if it is about HIM, you will obey his will and not the man-made rules of a corrupt organisation. If you love God as you say, you have certainly not loved these women as you love yourself. And that matters.
MrJayguess 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess It is not for YOU to judge when the Spirit acts just because some person says the Spirit moves them. Judgement on this belongs to the successors of the apostles in communion with the successor of the "glorious apostles Peter and Paul" who founded the Church of Rome (Irenaeus of Lyons, "Adversus Haereses" bk 3 ch 3) with the power of binding and loosing on earth (Matt 16: 18-10). Neither You nor these people have any power to decide when the Holy Spirit is acting.

I know that equality is the best of our Republic, but what shame must be ours to know that we will step on our own founders

@jromanr01 1. "They have tried to harm, insult, and shame their church" Then perhaps it deserves to be harmed, unsulted and shamed.
2. "they think they know better than Christ." Eh? Name ONE person. male OR female that Christ ordained priest.

@MrJayguess Peter duh..
jromanr01 3 weeks ago
@jromanr01 Actually he didn't. Read the Bible. Did he lay hands on him & confer the Holy Spirit & the authority to perform the mass? No. Nor anyone else. & the 'rock' statement is misunderstood if you look at the Greek. The Church was built on Peter's attitude & not Peter himself. In the early Church women presided as well as men. Why? Because priesthood as the RCC understands was a later man-made invention as the Church became formalised & has NOTHING to do with Christ's teaching.
MrJayguess 3 weeks ago
@MrJayguess Holy Spirit wasn't introduced until after Christ had died and risen. So of course not. What attitude? That he was stubborn? This whole man only issue has gone on for nigh on 2 thousand years, and there has never been a female ordained Priest. And there never will be as long as the Catholic Church IS the Catholic Church. If you again disagree then good for YOU. Just find another Faith! If anyone wants to disagree then talk to the Vatican!
jromanr01 3 weeks ago
@jromanr01 1.
MrJayguess 2 weeks ago
@jromanr01 MrJayguess is an Anglican clergyman, so he speaks this way in order to ignore Jesus' clear building of His Church on the Rock (Kepha) that was Petros (Kepha translated into Greek as a man's name). This is what eats at him.
FRAGIORGIO1 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess You are Quite Wrong. Jesus changed the name of Shimon bar Yona to "Kepha" in His Aramaic language, and Kepha means Rock. Jesus is the Eternal Rock of Faith, but He put a Rock on earth to promote and preserve Correct Doctrine, saying that "upon this Kepha (Rock) I shall build My Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I shall give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven, and what you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven" (Matt 16: 18-19).
FRAGIORGIO1 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess Kepha's name had to be translated into Greek, which was the language of the great majority of Jews (and Gentiles) in the Eastern Mediterranean, so they took the feminine noun "petra" and made it masculine for Kepha, thus resulting "Petros), by which name he is always mentioned, except a couple of times Paul (who had been Shaul) calls him "Kephas", with the Greek masculine "s" added onto his name for clarification. Peter and Paul were the founders of the church of Rome.
FRAGIORGIO1 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess The martyr St. Ignatius of Antioch around 110 AD wrote to the Romans that he could not teach them as Peter had. St Irenaeus of Lyons, disciple of the martyr St Polycarp of Smyrna (155 AD), a disciple of St. John the Apostle in Ephesos, wrote that the Roman church was founded by Peter and Paul and that all other churches had to be in agreement with it (Adversus Haereses bk3 ch3), and he mentions 11 popes after Peter till around 190 AD..
FRAGIORGIO1 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess Jesus changed Simon's name to Rock (Kepha in Aramaic, Jesus' word), gave him the keys to the kingdom of heaven and power to bind and loose on earth with confirmation in heaven (Matt 16; 18-19), which powers He gave the others as well later, breathed the Spirit on them (John 20: 22-23) and sent them to teach all He had commanded them promising to be with them until the end of the world (Matt 28: 18-20). Hands needed???
FRAGIORGIO1 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess There is NO evidence that women presided. Jesus commissioned only His apostles to celebrate the Mass/Eucharist at the Last Supper saying "Take and eat; this is My body. Drink; this is My Blood. Do this in memory of Me". They passed that power on to their Authorized disciples and successors. As an Anglican seminarian, you must have read Irenaeus and Cyprian of Carthage (257 AD) on the unity of the Church being necessary, and both based unity on Peter, the Rock.
FRAGIORGIO1 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess Jesus said to Peter in particular: "Feed My lambs; feed My sheep" (John 21: 15-17), an argument used by Cyprian of Carthage regarding Peter/Kepha as the Rock of unity on Earth for Jesus' One Church (from "De Ecclesiae Catholicae Unitate") This is a solid backup from the church in North Africa (Libya, Tunisia, and Algeria) since he was the principal bishop or metropolitan of that area in Carthage.
FRAGIORGIO1 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess Jesus told the apostles to "do this in Memory of Me", which is what they did and their legitimate successors do. You insist on the Greek difference between "Petros" a masculine name and "petra" a feminine noun, but Jesus called Simon bar Yona "Kepha" (Rock) and said He was founding His Church on that rock (Kepha) and gave him the keys to the kingdom of heaven and the power of binding and loosing on earth with heaven's ratification !
FRAGIORGIO1 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess Jesus constituted Peter and the other apostles with the power of binding and loosing on earth, forgiving sins, and teaching all nations to observe All that He had commanded them. The sects or subdivisions of the believers into separate churches or communities do not have all power on earth to do those things. They can teach part of them (and that could be good), but to go Against His Church is a grave sin, because it is going against Jesus and the Spirit.
FRAGIORGIO1 2 weeks ago
@jromanr01 How do you know they dont serve the poor as a priest? Do you KNOW how many doors open if you wear a dog collar?
MrJayguess 3 weeks ago
@MrJayguess 'dog collar' nice, and very respectful to these people who go around the world just for the sake of peace and love.
jromanr01 3 weeks ago
@jromanr01 I'm allowed to say that as I'm ordained myself. And WEAR a dog collar. So please don't try to 'blind' me with doctrine or scripture as you won't win the argument. Apart from the sacramental side, the 'dog collar' is just one way of opening doors to minister to the poor. And to judge these women as not doing so with absolutely NO evidence for your assertion is absurd.
MrJayguess 2 weeks ago
@MrJayguess l He "won't win the argument" because you "know" so much? You ignore and twist scripture and ignore the early Church Fathers. You do Not seek Truth, only to "win" an argument. Sad. You Ignore the clear words of Jesus and other scriptures. Not a good sign.
FRAGIORGIO1 2 weeks ago
The Pope is the bishop of Rome, right? So if the Bishop, is given the power by God and by the people doesn't that mean that he has some authority over issues. And lets say that the Apostles are like the Supreme Court, they didn't make decisions rather they uphold the laws that were given by God to us. Doesn't that mean that ignoring their decisions is breaking the law? That is what this is, it is choosing to attack a belief because of ignorance. If these women truly cared about the church...
jromanr01 3 weeks ago
@jromanr01 1.
MrJayguess 3 weeks ago
For those educated enough to attack those who find this offensive, i have to ask where did you receive this training? Where did you receive this knowledge. Did you know that Universities were protected by the Church when many towns wanted to attack them because there was ignorance and anger? Mankind hasn't changed. Anger and hatred exist still today though we have adapted to make it more potent and deadly. When the Church goes, so goes something invisible and so special you couldn't fathom it.
jromanr01 3 weeks ago
Ive said it before and i will say it again, THIS IS NOT about GOD. God deigned that there is some division between men and women. This is proven thoughout the world and in genetics. Women, you are not inferior this is proven by God's grace, testimony, and Mother Mary. Feminism was invented with Jesus Christ. This isn't about God or Equality however, this is about POWER. Who made these women supreme heads of the Catholic Church? Who decided they should decide doctrines older than this Country?
jromanr01 3 weeks ago
@jromanr01 I am sorry, but you are talking garbage. You ask "Who decided they should decide doctrines older than this Country?" He is someone called the Holy Spirit who has clearly called these women into ordained ministry just has He has across the rest of the Christian Church (such as women Anglican priests). Unless you can prove that the Holy Spirit ONLY acts among RC men (including those prone to child rape) I suggest you accept these women and pray for their ministries.
