I've had Harley, BMW, 2-Goldwings, and lately the Nomad 1600. Undoubtedly the most comfortable motorcycle I have ever owned or ridden. You have made a fantastic buy!
Hi all I've owned my 05 nomad for just over a year now and clocked up about 5000km every ride feels like my first I love it ! I looked at harleys but after doing a lot of homework and compareing I would rather ride my bike than load it in the back of a trailer or have in the back of my mind that it was going to break down give me the Kwaka any day of the week and weekends !
Getting a brand new black one in 6 weeks. Can't wait. You'd have to give me a Harley for me to own one. I've heard that when you buy a Harley make sure you got a good tool kit to work on it. I also heard that bolts rattle off all the time. The main thing I don't like is on the newer models when they get hot, the rear cylinder shuts off and you are driving on one cylinder. Who would want that? Sounds like just something else to worry about tearing up in the future.Hey but they look and sound good
By the time you add the chrome, pipes, good cruise seat, engine guard and other extra's to make it sound and look like a Harley, you could have bought a Harley.
Harley's look good, sound good and cost a hell of a lot more than some pipes and seats on a bike that runs and runs and spends almost no time in the shop! RESPECT!
I admit that the Vulcan 1600 is a superior bike to the Vulcan 900 which Kawasaki tries to promote as a cruiser. Maybe if they changed the name from Vulcan to something else I would respect it more. Everyone knows that the Vulcan 1600 and the Mean Streak are imitation Harley's, but they are nice. I don't buy fake Rolex's either, even if some are good copies.
much respect to your choices, for me I looked at value for my dollar, and eliability in reading the comparisons from various magazines the Harely didnt match up to the Vulcan in handling and comfort. to me in this economic market it did'nt make sense to make a huge investment just for the Harley name BUT if your willing to write me a check for 30k, I'LL TAKE IT....lol oh and I love my TIMEX

You are obviously uneducated when it comes to . . . anything. Why don't you go clean up the oil spot in your garage, that is if you even own a bike and not just running your mouth.

vulcan from kawasaki and roadstar from yamaha they are on the same level like the harley but better engine performance and better technic and they look nice too
they only dont have the history and the heritage that makes harley so popular and big.anyway sure ahrley is great but too expensive and totally overrated.keep ridin but if i would be you dont customize too much let her be like she is i got a vulcan 1500 classic i love my bike more than my wife

I too am a pround owner of a 07 Nomad and have to agree they are beautiful comfortable long distance machines. Recently completed a cruise around Tasmania and Victoria in Australia and she (Ella)acquitted her magnificently on all counts! I call mine Ella after Ella Fitzgerald because she's black, has a big bottom and sings beautifully when I ride her.
its great I love the power and ride. I did notice it rund rought and stalls out everyonce and a while when i roll off the throttle...other than that i love it
I like harley's, and the english bikes, but I would not trade my 1600 Nomad for nothing.
