After pinching my hands and bleeding etc. I finally watched the video entitled "Kahr K9 trick"
Much better and it should be what Kahr instructs you to do, what a pain in the ass, a gun that was a 10+ for me after the first time out now is only a 7 for me due to this take down process....thumbs down Kahr
I still have my Kahr but I also have three Glocks. A Glock is like a hammer. It is so reliable you don't even think about it but it's also not some work of art to brag about. I have one 1911 I view as a range gun because of the full length guide rod and silly disassembly. I just wish the Kahr was more user friendly, simple because it is a carry gun.
Definitely not an easy task. I'm holding one in my hand right now. You have to be the Hulk in order to take this gun down. This video is very misleading.
@nelsonboy707 I was just being impatient, it's not bad once you figure out how to hold the pistol. Side note: my Kahr K9 has never malfunctioned on me, never once.
Getting that pin out of the gun is very difficult!! Why not make it easier like the Browning HP or the Sig? Love my Kahr K9mm but I hate breaking it down to clean it.
@Gman6755 I agree, there should be some catch on the slide to keep it at the proper place to remove the pin. Just did mine for the 1st time (just got the gun) and it was ridiculously hard compared to my cz75.
In my opinion, this pistol is WAY too difficult to disassemble/reassemble. With enough practice, you get the hang of it. But why bother? Get another handgun and don't worry about becoming proficient in this ridiculous process. You can get a Glock 26/27 for a fraction of the price and get an unbeatable combo of reliability and economy and simplicity.
I had a Kahr K9 for 13 years, but was recently stolen from me. It was an early model 1995 ADO506. I just purchased a new PM9 and it has more recoil than the K9. I like the PM9 but my K9 was much more comfortable to shoot. I miss my K9 and may get another one.

Anybody who thinks this is a hard task or has to be the hulk to disassemble or assemble has to be mentally and physically challenged ! Geeshhhh

@barber1948
Maybe it's just a matter of practice. I'm not entirely unfamiliar with firearms yet I find the Kahr frustrating.

It does have a tight spring and takes a little work. I just bought a Kahr and cleaned it for the first time.
