Ok keane was more defensive however veron was a attacking midfielder and scholes was deffo attacking coz he coulnt tackle for shit. Look at Claude Makelele in my opinion, the best defensive midfeider to play in the premership. His whole 5 seasons at chelsea he only got 2 goals on over 200 games. You do need a creative midfielder tho

Anderson never had Gerrard in his pocket by the way and I remember a match were Anderson was paired against Gerrard and Gerrard scored atleast a goal and Anderson did nothing. To be fair to Anderson, he is improving rapidly of late. The games I've watched him in so far this season, he really is starting to grab games by the scruff of the neck. He spent two seasons sort of as a box to box midfielder, tough tackling, putting in big defensive performances. But obviously this season Fergie is trying to push him on, he's bombing forward a lot more, he's constantly looking to slide balls up top and create, and he's also having more shots at goal. Future is bright for him
