It's definitely a good song but personally I find the delivery and execution a bit rough and I don't like the album much. I'd be very curious to hear them re-record a few songs from it some have potential and I'm always reminded of how much better they could have been.
Outside the Gate - The most unpopular album by Killing Joke, but I still love this one! Remember travelling through Spain by bus and couldn't turn it off. Watching the endless fields, the ocean, the hills and the wonderful landscape while listening to this track....
It's a bit potty this track, like a cross between a 'Yes' up-its-own-arse rock Anthem, an Aleister Crowley poem and... well to be honest.... Killing Joke. Gotta admit, it Kinda works tho :-)
Reminds me of a holiday in Penrith i had in 88 - if i remember right it was about this time Jaz Coleman was convinced that world war III was about to start and moved to the south pacific for a couple of years - great album of its time, cheers
