Nostalgia, yes, the sixties were great! I was there with you...but we should not dwell! I was a sixties musician...I lived it, I played it. But, we all have to move on. Perhaps, one day you'll live it over again...and maybe get it right.
Smart guy. You and I probably are in the same age group...60's...and I couldn't agree with you more. The 60's were the best, the kids were SO involved here in the U.S. And instead of hate, there was LOVE. I agree with you completely, whenever I hear any of this music, I'm 17 again. Heck, I'm 17 every day as long as the body cooperates...LOL. PEACE AND LOVE! Love the birds too.
Hey! I really like your videos, especially your Budgie videos! I'd really like to get a budgie(eventually two), but I'm not sure if that's good for me right now. I'm off to college in a few years, but we'll have to see how things go.
You remind me very much of a bird! In a good way. Your eyes are sort of...inquisitive. The way you move your head reminds me of a bird, too. :]
Yeah, I think that'd be best, too. My mom isn't the biggest fan of animals, especially ones that spread feathers and seeds everywhere! Sometimes I question how much we are related. ;]
There will be plenty of time for Budgies in my future. haha.
Hi Frank, There are more of us than you think who have a lot in common with you. I am 49 and love 60s & 70s music. Thank God for CDs! What two titles are you missing or have you found them? Unlike most music of today, pop music of the 60s & 70s had well defined melodic structures and very catchy hooks. Hold on to those CDs because reissue compilations are becoming scarce and fewer labels are investing in their release. Of the few dozen 60s & 70s reissue CDs I have, many are now out of print!
I have always thought of popular music from my past as sort of like a time machine. By the way, excellent advise you had for young men! And remember what? I forgot.
Hard to believe those CDs can't be found on E-Bay. Ah, maybe one day. Great video. I feel the same about hits from the 70s (not counting disco). Okay, yeah, disco, too.
Noooo, not disco! There was too much mushy dance music in the seventies. With a few exceptions, it wasn't until the 80's that pop music began to come alive again.
I loved watching/listening to this. I grew up in the 80's/90's, but we were always open about music in our home. The 60's era, to me, is the ultimate feel-good music. Thanks for the pick me up.
The sixties music is my era too Frank - I have lots of CDs and pre-recorded tapes from singles and LPs.
A radio station in Perth, WA, 6IX, plays all the 60s music. It takes me back to the local Saturday night dance where we rocked and twisted to all our top pop music, which are classics today!
My three, in their 30s like the 60s music. MY youngest son likes to listen to 6IX, and he was a 'heavy metal' boy when he was younger!
Yes, many of the old 60's songs are classics these days.
Not all were that good when you hear them now though, in fact when I listen to 'sounds of the 60s' on Radio2, some of the less well known tracks are dreadful!
But the atmosphere they re-create in our minds is so good.
Thanks Stu. Some days these thoughts just want to come out. I wrote a blog to go with this video - just click on the link in the video description box.
I really enjoy the music from the 60's too. Where I live there is an oldies radio station that I listen too just about every day. Hey, you didn't come back after answering the phone!
There is a superb 60's music show on BBC Radio 2 (listen live on the web) for 2 hours on Saturday mornings over here.
Telephones have ruined many a video session for me. I unplugged them all once, then forgot to plug them back in again. We had several quite days before we realised the phone didn't work!
Wow! You are so right Frank. Sixties music was the best! I used to hide my transistor radio under my pillow at night and listen till I fell asleep. I actually fought sleep to listen. It was sixties music that got me through more than a few hard times in my adolescence and still does! Been listening since '63. I can relate to quirks of getting old too. I raised my children up on that music and now my Grandson listens. Rock on! :o)
Ah, I remember falling asleep listening too. I talk about that in my 'transistor radio' video. It's amazing how many youngsters today enjoy much of the 60's music.
Aww...Frank..you are just the sweetest man. I love your vlogs, and I would have accepted an invitation to dance from you! The sixties were a great time with great music. I do the same thing when out of sorts..play my oldies but goodies. hugs, Chris
Whats worse is when I find myself thinking of my sons music - Thats not real music or even; can you turn it down its too loud.

Hmmmm...., strange comments looking at your tastes in music on your profile page?
Yes I have moved on too, in fact I rediscovered some great music from the 1980's, but not until 2 decades later!
But for me, it's the 1960's music that always brings back those funny old feelings from my teenage years that still exist deep inside me somewhere.

I guess it would be better to wait until after college unless you have someone you can rely on to look after them well during term time.
As for the other comments - you are encourageble! :0)

Yep, some pieces of music take me straight back to the front room at Logan Street in the 70's (Dreadlock Holiday).
I'm kinda glad you missed some of those golden chances... ;o)
