to cool , this house is over now a hundred and thirty yrs old... it was my highschool girlfriends grandfathers house... they are great guys with amazing music ... anybody that has been there can feel the magic as soon as u pull up the drive (:
i used to live in the new mexico- the hip came around every couple years. the crowds were... dedicated. moved to new england in '99, saw them in boston- everybody sang every word of every song. couldn't hear the band. i will never go see them anywhere near the border again. is it like this in canada? i long for those days of small shows in small bars, but i'm glad the rest of the world is now more exposed...
The shows in Canada are much better because they play in bigger arenas. In the states the shows are smaller and so I don't think they're equipped for fans that dedicated. I know, when I go see them I can barely hear myself sing over Gordon.
Arena shows suck period. I would go to a show in a bar that holds 200-500 people any day over an arena full of drunk singing fools. Don't get me wrong- I'm Canadian and proud, but I guess I won't be seeing TTH in Canada if that's how it is.
World Container was a step back from In Between Evolution in my mind. But it did have its moments and all of the songs I heard did sound great live, so that is the true test of any song/band.
I look forward to the new release and subsequent tour. I have gone from seeing them as much as five times a year to once a year now so it makes it extra special to see them.
there is no step back each band and person has a journey i like their older stuff but the new stuff grows on me every new release and this is not a neg feedback just a thought
I don't really dig World Container. It has moments, like 'Yer Not the Ocean', but ultimately is not that good. I actually blame the production. Bob Rock has a very generic sense of music. Just look at the long list of generic bands he's produced and more so at what he's done to formerly good bands like Metallica and Our Lady Peace.
I was really hoping he wasn't going to produce The Hip's new album. But, alas...
don't you wanna see how it ends
