The goddess of cool, savior to the outcasts in the world, I listen to her albums and stare transfixed at the record player. What happened? Around 1990, the music industry seemed to turn away from talented singer/songwriters and focus on manufactured celebrities with dancers, lights, music/lyrics written by someone else, most likely to make a quick buck. Where are the radio stations that played Rickie, James Taylor, Neil Young? Rickie, your music has profoundly affected me; don't ever stop.

A beautiful fall day....years ago....walking through the streets of Victoria, BC Canada...down to my favourite store....A&B Sound (I don't even know if they still exist)...to get my next fix of Rickie Lee Jones...I walk in and take it to the counter and walk away with the hugest grin on my face...I'm going home ...and I'm gonna blast this...ohhhhhhhhhh 'it must be love '(for the music xo)
