  • WHAT A RIPPER!!!!!

  • What a lovely way to interrupt silence...

  • you don't play "DIRTY POOL" my head is spinning "AMAZING"

  • THANK YOU FOR THIS POST! I AM NOT YELLING @ YOU, I AM TRYING TO SHOW MY APPRECIATION FOR THE RAREST, EARLIEST, LIVE CLIP OF ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS EVER (OFF THE TEXAS FLOOD ALBUM) BY ONE OF THE BEST PEOPLE TO EVER BLESS THIS EARTH SRV!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU....

  • Stevie Ray Vaughn will live forever in my heart. I love him. Even though he's gone I still can't get enough of him and his music. R.I.P SRV. From TExaS!

  • 6:17 that's not texas flood.

anyway, one of the bests guitarrists ever. for me its him and jimi

  • For such a slow tempo song, it sure has alot of energy.

  • @dinomak1970 The beauty of 6/8 time. If you feel like it, you can throw a pile of notes in there.

  • Its depressing to know that I will play for the rest of my life and never even approach this level of talent.

  • sometimes willing is not enough... unfortunatly.

but the fact that you can't be that good doesn't mean that you can't be a damn good guitar player and bring something new to the world of guitar! :)

  • @Niamorg1007 agree.....stevie was great....one of my inspiriations...but there are lots of cats out there with his talent....but few can match his grit and intensity...thats the diffo between good and great.....he was a strong dude....with a big heart....plus lets be honest the coke would of seen him through a few shows....but stevie vaughan is my biggest inspo through music and life....love him dearly......rip stevie, jimi, rory and all the crew.

  • Not exactly. That is just like trying to say that there are loads of cats out there that are equally talented and brilliant as let's say John Carpenter. Bullshit. There are many great cats out there and some less great cats out there keeping music alive, but none of them can even hold a candle to Stevie Ray Vaughan. He is in a league of his own, untouchable and one of a kind.

  • @grga888 hey no worries but you obv missed my point! i love your stevie vaughan vids as much as i love stevie vaughan but you deffo missed my point. peace buddy!

  • @grga888 i try not to get into aggs with yt friends and fellow stevie vaughan lovers!

  • @grga888 also your trying to start agg for no reason, stevie wasnt about that! ....how can a true stevie vaughan fan read my comment and say its "bullshit".....??

  • @tabulaerasae82 haha , slightly childish and slightly obsessive , anyways peace out friend , kept your sub anyway for the great stevie vids. tk

  • But it's this type of thing that makes you want to grab your guitar and to play all night long

  • @introspective68 the inevitable shouldnt be depressing!!!!. whats depressing is we both will live the rest of our lives and never get to see stevie vaughan live again...rip stevie vaughan, jimi hendrix and rory gallagher.

  • This music has an fibe that grabs you but dousnt let go : D

  • niiiiice

  • i like this song alot too

  • BEST GUITARISTS EVER, PERIOD.

  • This is my 3rd viewing. yeah

  • i'm sure of this...no one has this feeling, this powerful and sensible way of playing...

  • what an amazing song and performance!!

isn't the crowd who's booing him, just a couple of idiots, as usually, they are everywhere.

    SRV R.I.P, my guitar god

  • I think they are going 'Whoooooooooo' not 'booooo'

  • no, the fools at this show, montreaux jazz festival in '82, they booed him. just made him play harder what a bunch of idiots

  • Could you tell me why they were booing him, I mean you dont boo SRV for no reason.

  • this was 1982, so before he was really famous. so if i remember correctly its because this music was not yet commonplace at a jazz festival, and they didn't like the fact that it wasn't jazz

  • The Montreux jazz festival has been playing blues waaay before the time of this particular performance. People were booing because most of the audience came to see acoustic blues music, not supercharged kick ass electric guitar in your face blues.

  • I have heard this befor, i think its on the live at montreux DVD. nickovitch is right he wasnt that big then and there, and there where there to hear acoustic not kick ass stevie ray vaughan

  • He is Simply amazing. No other word describes it. So ill just go around and post it on every Vaughan video till people achknowladge it.

  • you should, cuz there are idiots out there who dont know it or insist on disagreeing. dumbassses

  • i thought he said it was supposed to be slow

  • bass and drums = slow blues. it doesnt matter what the guitarist is doing, its still slow blues.

  • ummm it is. listen to the drums man

  • this is slow....for stevie ray vaughan

  • @chainedhero hahaha lord rest his worried soul! i know he can calm mine, everytime, never fails.

    RIP SRV!

    :'/

  • straight from the heart.. amazing performance.

  • whoa---great video! thanks.

  • His tone came from his heart his soul, his hands right? He's playing an electric guitar, with large scale strings right? he must have had electricity actually going through his body at some level. how else could you explain guys like SRV and hendrix?

  • tremolo study for electric guitar; amazin. Modern day tarrega

  • those 20-odd gauges must have been tough to play. oh wait...

  • hahha i bet the crowd felt stupid when stevie became popular and got the respect he deserved

  • Isn't this the greatest blues guitar song or what? No one dares to cover.

  • Stevie, el ultimo gran bluesman.

  • my right hand is too weak for that one ^^

  • jack off more :p hahahahaha.

  • Comment removed

  • I love this song. It's on the box set that was released a few years ago. Except is was performed in October of 89 when he was clean. No offense to this performance because it was electric too, but when Stevie was clean WATCH OUT!!!!!!!!!. Anyway, thanks for the upload. R.I.P. Stevie!!!!!

  • You can hear the difference in his playing when he's clean, not taking anything away from this though!!

  • So you think he's better straight or high? I thought he was better high....

  • He was a much better player when he was clean towards the late 80's, you can definitely hear it in his play.

  • yeah but he played with more feel when he was stoned.

  • I am amazed every time I hear Stevie Ray Play.

A truely one of a kind ,and dearly missed in this world!

  • ....and the bass lines are killer....

  • I cannot believe ANY ONE would be booing him! This is an AMAZING performance..Even if you don't agree with his style of blues, he is pretty damn amazing to watch

  • i can cry if i hear/watch this

    Rip stevie, we miss you!

  • It really is a big shame. They weren't expecting someone as powerful as Stevie to come up there and play since it is a jazz festival. But he did come back in 85 and they sure didn't boo him then ;)

  • I love at about 4:00 when he starts playing all quiet.

  • i felt relief when listening this =)

  • love this crazy song!

  • wow keep going Stevie Ray Vaughan forever in the stars......the sky is with ....the best of all blues guitarist...bravo my friend====

  • i makes me feel sensible and very toutch inside = the best of all...keep going== stevie ray vaughan forever....

  • One of my favourite guitarist :)

    RIP
