This vid and all the other SFII vids here on youtube bring back sooooo many memories of being 8 years old, round my friends playing this for hours on end, best fighting game in history and i dont think it will be beat. Mortal combat was also amazing.

Random thought-its funny how the graphics in this game were so poor compared to now, yet look at the plane in the background...they could make that thing fly through the sky at the speed of sound yet couldent make better graphics at the time!

Compared to Ryu, he's inferior. But a "good/bad" player is all subjective, anyway.

I just think the Japanese always intentionally make their home country characters far superior than any other countries in Fighting games, like in King of Fighters, DOA, and Tekken. The Americans are usually slow, overweight wrestler types (to make fun of us being fat and stupid). And Guile isn't a fat wrestler, but he is DAMN slow.

This is the dumbest comment ever. Guile has by far the 2 fastest special moves in the game: Sonic Boom & Flash Kick. You cannot call him a slow character. Also, In many SFII Versions he is top tier and the first character ever to have advanced combos because of his engine Second; Ken, Balrog, Rufus, C.Viper, Paul Phoenix, Bryan Fury, and Guile are all Americans in Japanese fighters and most of them are top tier very fast characters.

Also good/bad player isn't subjective. You can't tell me that Daigo Umehara, Ricky Ortiz, or Justin Wong are "subjectively" good players are you see them mastering every nook and cranny of their character's potential and smashing their oponents.

It may not be specific to this game, SF II, but in SSF4 Guile is better tier wise than Ryu. I think Daigo (who is japanese) even switched over from Ryu to play Guile.

Guile - He without question is the undisputed Emperor in WW, he dominates so completely and utterly in this game, that it isn't even funny. He dominates everywhere, zoning, spacing, poking, positioning, you name it, he is #1 period, he even has the crazy 5-hit jab dizzy and re-dizzy, and of course, you can't forget the "handcuffs" although those aren't tournament viable but fun to use on newbies, lolz. Dhalsim is a far, far, and away #2.
