It is only a demonstration. Robots are in fact not useless and they can interact with things. Have you never heard of sensors for robots? You can predefine very complex things based on the ambient light, temperature, sound, distance from objects, color of objects, etc. You do know that the type of people that are intelligent enough to produce these things are the reason there was an industrial revolution right? You will think how worthless they are when your job gets taken by one later on..

One thing I find a little disheartening about Layered-X is that although it definitely wins style points for its incredibly sophisticated design, when you apply it for actual Robo-One fighting, it fails because all the limbs have to be the same length, and thus unless he's attacking from the side, Layered-X is at a big reach disadvantage.
