Reasons why you shouldn't use NMM: no conflict-detection, you can't actually see what files you are installing with NMM, you need to open the archive manually in order to do so, no mod-merging. Wrye Bash is the way to go if you don't want to get corrupted saves in the future.

I like the mods that SKSE is needed for, but I hate using them at the same time because the mods simply won't work unless they are kept up to date with SKSE and it just gets annoying. I'm just trying to steer clear of those until the CK comes out.

I personally like the categorized favorites and quality map mods. Customizing them further than the default mod is extremely nice and helpful.

When I have a LOT of items stored in a chest, it lags when you try and add more items or take items out. Does the SkyUI help this at all, or are there any mods that might? Also, no matter what graphics settings I have makes no difference to this problem. Not game breaking, just a little annoying having to wait for like 15 seconds to take out a different sword.

I strongly suggest you do NOT use the Nexus manager. It's very shoddily programmed, cannot actually recognize mod files, so it needs the mod to be packaged the way "it" wants and if it is not it will fuck up your installation. Plus it makes useless copies of EVERYTHING which leads to an immense waste of space in the long run. Just wait for a convetional Skyrim Mod Manager, unless it's already out. Like everything with the Nexus name on it, it's absolutely terrible.
