I am thinking about lifting my 97 Ford F150 Extended Cab XLT 4x4 has 4.6 V8 Triton engine. I was wondering if you have noticed any adverse affects(problems) with the performance of the engine after lifting it? I want to make sure I can lift my truck and still drive it 20 years from now.

Nice truck. I have the EXACT same, same color, single cab, same exhaust, my tips are a little bit bigger, i have the same looking wheels, but mine have the street lock on the bead, the inside is the same color, mine is a 4.6 5spd, with the 4x4 shifter on the floor, and an xlt so the side mirrors are black with the green matching caps, i have the stainless steel bed caps instead of bed rails, and 35" pro comp xtreme mud terrains, and instead of a 3" body i have a 5" super lift suspension lift.

35 inch mud dawgs on 16x8 wheels. it has 200,000 miles and i paid 5000 for it. it had 160,000 on it when i bought it. i like the color looks good cleaned up. but i got me a mustang 07 model i am playing with now. better gas milage. lol and faster.

Nice truck. I got a 97 f150 with 4" superlift suspension lift. My torsion bars are cranked up to fit 35's without trimming anything. The lift and tires an wheels were on the truck when I bought it but the thing hadnt been cleaned in a while so im still tryin to clean the wheels up. I bought new center caps and stainless steps since mine were rusted chrome and cut the exhaust tips off for the same reason. I hope to have a video up soon, Im tryin to get it lookin better first!

@rradford43 i had to trim my valence panel that is the black plastic piece tht meets ur bumper. just trim it with a utility knife or a sawzall. u wont be able to tell it tho if u cut it just right

I am looking at a 97 F150 for my first truck. It is very good looking, no major defects or damage. The only thing that worries me is the high mileage. It has 226,000 miles on it. It's my first truck so I doubt I will keep it forever anyway. Do you recommend it?

@muddinman90 no!!!! ford did not know wat the heck they were doing wen they built transmissions from 97 to bout 03 so high millage fords are a bad idea mine has been rebuilt at about 150,000 miles and it still gives me truble
