  • OTW like Gozzilliaca also, it is moving isn't it? The times....

I liked this (1969), pop & hit the times. Nina Simone, was too polemic for me.

But now I actually think it better. But I still l;ove this. Bob Andy's voice makes it.

  • Classic

  • in the sventies Bob Andy was the best singer of the world

  • Remember my first Reggae-tape '89 :O))))

    Loved it!!!

  • one love, one draw

  • Cernoch, which year was this.......the 1970's?

  • Does anybody know the tune that is playing in the background, while Bob is interviewed? (0:00-0:09)

  • Definately one of the most beautiful songs ever written. It reaches out to so many levels and people of all races and colours. x Marcia looks stunning, a naturally beautiful woman.

  • Class act did Nina Simone write that?

  • @jnmklo9 - Weldon Irvine wrote it, Nina Simone performed it 1st. If you watch the Mos Def video Umi Says you will see Weldon Irvine playing the organ in it. Great talent many have never heard of.

  • Do you see how Marcia looks into the camera at 1:04 and stares with those beautiful eyes ? Reminds me so much of them Egyptian paintings on the walls of Egypt..Truly a Nubian Queen

  • @Skimmerranks ... yeah, I agreee, my heart just melts!!! I have grooved along to this song since I was a young teenager in the late 70s. They were so cool, and such simple, powerful lyrics. I'm a middle-aged white fella in Australia, and wish our a song like this could inspire some of our indigenous young people

  • I am happy to have been around when singers sang, this is how you make a cover version of a great song-Nina Simone must have felt honoured .

  • now niggers make hip-hop.....

    bah....

  • oh ,touches me too ,what an amazing song ,so full of hope and positive energy ,just lifts your spirits

  • Happy Friday, FBers! As usual, skank freely. You too, Ref!

  • I'm no longer young, a bit gifted and certainly not black, but I love this song. The tune is beautiful, uplifting, joyous and melodic. :)

  • Great song!

  • From 1:00 to 1:10 I melted under the gaze of those beautiful hypnotic eyes :)

  • Marcia is enchanting

  • So many happy memories of my youth! Ice skating to this !!!Still love it! They dont make things like this any more , mores the pity!!!

  • I love this tune. Bought it as a 14 year old. However, this version is shit.

  • Thank u mum. Xx

  • I used to think this was about Cyrille Regis and Laurie Cunningham when I was 5/6 years old!

And what about Marcia - most gorgeous women in the 70s.

  • Excellent comment! Boing Boing! RIP Laurie Cunningham. They were from the era I became an Albion fan. Legends. :)

  • The black pearl Laurie Cunningham was a fine player one of Englands greatest

  • Bless my eyes, but what a gorgeous woman Marcia Griffiths was in those days! The sort of woman wives and girlfriends don't like because every man that looks on them mentally commits adultery. The sort that while you look at them you can't imagine that anything more beautiful exists.

  • aretha franklins version is better.

  • No way this is the best first class

  • Marcia looks absolutely gorgeous in this video. This is a classic.

  • Not many to be found is there?

  • Back when Marcia was young, gifted... and beautiful ^^

  • this could be Obama's song

  • love the fro. why cant black women look this good any more ?

  • l loved it from day one..brilliant song.

  • This is one of those songs that takes you back to long happy summers and some great feelgood memories....love it......love Marcia Griffiths !! :o)

  • i really love this tune.

  • wonderful and evocative i am now old gifted and black but this song makes me feel 18 again. grab it by the hands and make it yours if you still are!!!!

  • Why is this song so fantastically moving? I don't know - but it is so evocative, so moving. Old twisted and white, I might be, but this touches me deeply - beautiful beautiful beautiful.

  • I love this song, classic reggae

  • They Look So Beautiful!

Ooooohhhh, those AFROS are Sooooo Cooooool!

    BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL!

  • Fantastic! Never seen it before. Did this come from Horace Ove's film 'Reggae'? - I wish somebody would release it on DVD.

  • true classic. very inspirational.

  • These two performers were at the Beres Hammond "A Moment In Time" concert a couple of hours ago. They didn't perform together but they were independently sensational.
