It's because they weren't trying to give COD4 the best graphics,it was made for gameplay.Crytek decided to give crysis that trait,worked on it for a few years I believe.

Wonder if you could run Crysis very high but on low res 720x480 to make it playable. I can deal with that in some games but others like COD4 rely on you cranking the resolution to hide the lines.

Crysis 1280x1024 very high 15-25fps when i go :)

Crysis Warhead 1280x1024 very high 14-20fps in action is hard when i do 1024x768 is better

when 800x600 is too much better :P

NBA 2k9 all ultra 1280x1024 60 fps :)

you know, you can add something called "tweaks" in Crysis to get around 30 stable FPS. it's as simple as modding a text config file
