  • WHAT! I didn't know they are on the coast of florida! i thought they were in the deep south pacific or something.

  • My favorite shark: the gentle giant.

  • It's magnificent :) I get the Why You Following Me? vibe from it, you're lukcy.

  • Wow VERY Cool!

  • He's beautiful

  • wow so beautiful whale sharks are so facinating they dont eat humans... luckilly and its not a surprise he/she was interested in the diver. he/she was probably curious about what was swimming next to it :D

  • 01:30 he didnt liked u xD

  • I love whale sharks!

  • all i have to say FANTASTIC FANTASTIC FANTASTIC ...hopefully some day i get this lucky...

  • I was also on the dive. If Randy had not pointed the Whale Shark out to me, it would have gone right over my head. (Yes, pun intended.) Randy was always at least 5+ feet from the Whale Shark. The shark was passing by and actually came back around to see Randy up close. Randy kept circling his hand and I watched the creature come in and interact with Randy. It was really amazing to see the Whale Shark so curious about a diver.

  • Thanks for sharing, Chugwhump, about the Humpback whale! Yes, seeing a whale shark while submerged was incredible! I'm so glad I had the room on my photo card to video her. I saw a Leatherback turtle last Feb on a freak day...the water temp dropped to 54 degrees. Saw quite a few sailfish lately on my ascents and safety stops. Also, a small pod of spotted dolphins greeted us in Jupiter. It's amazing what you attract when you are "respectful and "open" to these serene encounters..........

  • Thanks for sharing this Terri.

    Very nice.

While diving about 15 years ago, a smaller Humpback Whale approached us and did circles around us for about 3 minutes off the Boynton Inlet.

Seeing a 18' or longer fish is a definite attention getter while submerged.

  • This is an awsome engagement of man and whale. The whale becomes still so that man can see its magnificense in size. There appears to be a quiet dialog between them of curiosity and peace.

  • The whale shark was interested in the diver and came to him on a second pass--------he would not and did not touch!!! I'm the videographer---I was there. Why not enjoy the majestic serene moments of a very rare occurance in the Jupiter, FL waters...instead of all the negativity????? Here is something rare and beautiful without fish or diver being harmed.

Have a photographic day! Add something interesting to your life! Most of all, Cheers!

  • You obviously no nothing about whale shark behavior. Look at the very end of the video.

  • Oh be nice

  • Why does the DM or dive guide (or charter owner) always feel the need to approach creatures like these and scare them off?

  • Why did you feel it necessary to touch the whaleshark and scare it away? Don't you know that touching whalesharks can be harmful to them?

  • I did not touch the animal and never would. I motioned my hand to keep his attention.

  • Yes, whale sharks have eyes on their tales.

  • @reefdancer125 Why is touching whale sharks harmful? I didn't know that.

  • Mandyarn1,

    I went all the way to Galapagos-----saw a 16'

WS, and this majestic creature was practically in my backyard...

    TKAT

  • Very Cool! What an awesome dive! I had to go all the way to Belize to see these magnificent creatures!!
