Amazing! This is back when the V8's actually sounded good. Now they sound like boring drones with that 18,000 rpm limit. Of course, nothing will top the sounds of the Ferrari V12 back in the early 90's, but still. This is top notch, man!

Amazing video I have to say. This was actually the quietest F1 car this side of 1998, yet in this video it sounds stunning. I remember the 2000 McLaren with it's rasping V10 was probably the best sound ever- it is a tragedy they are going down to tiny little 1.6L V6 engines with the sound muffled by the turbo.

@hedleythorne But the plus side of a Turbo, you can choose how much boost you give it. So it'll still throw out close to 700 horses. Lets face it, any engine that can boot out 16,000+ revs is going to sound immense, throw in a Turbo. That little inline 6 cylinder engine will scream its fucking eyes out. Its hardly going to sound like a vacuum cleaner is it?

Nothing beats the F1 sound. The one time I went to see a race weekend I got there when practice had already started and you could hear the cars from so far away. Once you got closer it was impossible to be without ear plugs.
