2 things here. Brazil are definitely known for producing AMCs and strikers, not defenders and keepers particularly. As the guy below says, try that in another league. He'd probably get clattered. Two, in reference to Rooney, there have been SO MANY overhead kicks in the past year very similar to Rooney's. It got picked because he's Rooney. This goal's more about the lead up to the goal rather than the finish though, I feel.

Rooney's overhead was more clinical, more important (manchester derby), more well timed (he tried re-creating the exact goal in exact conditions for EA and it took a couple of go's, showing how perfect it was) and most importantly it was just amazing! how is this better than that.
