  • It depends on your cam. And your intended use. If your cam has lots of duration (high rpm power, poor low rpm torque) you need higher gear ratios (4.11, 4.56) to get your motor to it's power power band. With less chop (lower duration) you want lower gears (3.55, 3.73) to take advantage of your low rpm grunt,

  • (Rpm x tire size)/ (gear ratio x 336) = mph

  • 138.5mph cuz I got a 388 if it were a regular 350 or 377 or even a 327 it would do more because of the higher rpm motor. I have my msd6al cut out at 5800 rpm. But. It also depends on the final gear of you tranny. B

  • hey man.....can you tell me what the top out mph is on the car with the 4.56 gears.......want to put the 4.56s in my iroc but dont want the top out to be like 70mph....please tell me what you think about the gears....thanks
