So after about 3 months.. how do you feel about it. Do you see a use for it taking it daily with you or to places and times where you want some really interesting shots?
Steve can use attach an power adapter to the V1 to keep shooting video - much the same way a Camcorder works? For say like an event that requires extended shootings. I don't want to carry 5-6 batteries, much rather plug the V1 to a wall outlet.
Kit includes:♦ 1) Nikon 1 V1 Digital Camera Body with 10-30mm & 30-110mm VR Lens (Black)♦ 2) Nikon 1 10mm f\2.8 Nikkor Lens (Black)♦ 3) Precision Design 6-Piece Camera & Lens Cleaning KitThe Nikon 1 V1 is a compact, CX-format interchangeable lens digital camera with a 10.1 MP CMOS image sensor. The Nikon One Series, the camera line that no one needed, wanted, nor asked for. FOR THE MONEY, just about any existing camera (in the beginner dslr or m4/3 realm), will fill the bill and make much more sense (*ANOTHER? sensor format? please) for accessories than this line of cameras.
What is your occupation so as you can afford those Nikon, Fuji, Sony, etc. cameras and quite expensive lenses to them? Thanks for the encouraging reviews!
@stevehuff1969 Is that 20 minutes of video on just the internal memory or only 20 minutes period? I know it might sound like a dumb question but this camera has so many odd features I feel like I should just ask.
Steve oh! Steve!!! You really sound bored to death with this review!!! I should get a Sony NEX 7, shouldn't I?
You went through everything here, and what I gathered is that this is a miniature D700, with miniature features...just to be positive about this camera...!
It's obviously made for clueless people. The only innovation is this bloody video and shoot thing, but it's not good enough to compare this camera with E-P3 or NEX 7, right?
@peekpt depends on your memory card, but if you mean the max length, probably due to regulations the max time would probably be either 10 mins or 30 mins
While its not an important factor for me, it's nice to see Nikon putting some effort into the user interface. With everyone using their iPhones as cameras these days, UI is sorely lacking in cameras designed for the casual user.
@86BBUB Not sure exactly! I think it is for those who want something better than a P&S, the Nikon brand, and small sharp lenses. The 10-100 throws me off though. If Nikon wants this to be an upgrade from a P&S, why release a $800 specialized "Niche" lens? Also, due to the 2.7 crop I would not be interested in shooting other Nikon glass on the V1. No chance of ANYTHING close to wide. A 21 would become almost a 60mm! Odd camera in many ways, but also a VERY good camera in most ways.
Really; 60mm??? That's just weird. Cameras like this are often used to record social events that occur indoors. That's just too long for what are often close encounters in tightish spaces.

The looks of a serious camera, the features of a toy camera, the price of a DSLR. What a mistake.

are you going to get the f-mount adaper? id love to see the v1 with something like the 24-70/2.8 (which would be like a mini 70-200).

neither the black or white one are very impressive looking but fron what i can tell they do a great job with video for the most part.

Why is every other camera on the market now trying to look like the Leica models?
KingVikram 3 months ago
@KingVikram I don't think that everyone's trying to look like Leica...it's just the most obvious form factor for a mirrorless camera.
ethancfbz 3 months ago
@KingVikram why not?
