Well first there are no bats in the area where this turbine is located, South Florida. We do care about the enivornment, hence why we researched many different types of alternative energy sources before coming to the conclusion that UGE offer's the best in wind turbines for both energy and the environment, both plants and animals.
Bats sonar see this turbine, while it is moving, as a solid object because when it is rotating it gives off an egg type shape to bats frequencies.
@goose2goose2 If a bat can track a moth hurtling through the air at breakneck speeds in the pitch black using only the faintest of echos, (remember that moths have tiny, hairy bodies that are designed to dampen those echos) do you really think they would be so stupid as to intentionally fly into a much larger solid , acoustically reflective object by mistake? Do you think that the bat can detect the minutest of wing flaps from across a forest but not hear a ten foot rotating object? Fraud.
@goose2goose2 Whoah there skippy, I don't shit about bats? How on earth would you know what I shit about or not? To be honest I shit about physics, biology and renewable energy, but why should that give me an opinion when you can shout like a demented angry potato? You haven't addressed my points but instead chose to deflect with unsubstantiated noise. I'm a hobbyist and an environmentalist. I would be as enraged as you if there was documented evidence to show a link between VAWTS and bat deaths
@danphobic Secondly, I'm not a start up or salesman. I intend to smash the current model of low output high cost renewables. I agree that most vawts are nothing but pointless art sculptures with a price tag that doesn't begin to justify the high cost. But I also welcome any renewables and if you cared about the environment you would support all renewables. I'm happy to hear of any research you know of that links vawts to animal deaths.
Thirdly, If I ever do bring turbines into the world, everything I do will be open source, with detailed designs available for everyone. I don't care about profit. I do however believe that I can bring the world the cheapest simplest, most animal friendly, highest output and with the least visual and audible impact that could exist. This is what I intend. Your videos are inspiring, I believe you do indeed wish to make things better in the world. The only bat deaths I have seen research on.
are from the drop in pressure in the wake of the high speed blades of large prop style turbines. I have never seen any research on darrius turbines that support your claims that they kill insects and bats. As you know, there are many interests that fund research into quashing renewables and they haven't yet been able to engineer a plausible link to VAWTS and bat deaths. If you look at my channel my homemade turbine is very similar to the gus turbines you prefer. We're on the same team.
How tall is this? it looks nice :)

You know nothing about bats, species frequencies, easy to tell by your attitude,
maybe instead of being so defensive in the name of sales...you should look into
why people won't buy your product.
We like our birds, bats and insects alive....therefore we will only consider
a drag turbine...
You do not qualify.
As for the part about not responding....I could care less.

@danphobic You don't shit about bats...
I'm sure you would say something similar about owls or hawks being killed by prop turbines.
The really sad part, is that you are in denial about the reality of bat deaths from wind turbines.
And you have put money ahead of morals and trutth. typical of startup wind turbine sales
associates trying to sell chinese crap turbines.
