  • I've read that quick insulin spiking carbs aren't really needed for your typical bodybuilding workout or routine........but it would be crucial to have a quick digesting carb if you workout in the morning and then again later in the day, anybody else heard of this???

  • so if i drink a glass of coke is good or orange juice ?

  • @Tata434 it actually is not a bad choice, lots of old school bodybuilders reach for a coke or fanta.

  • visually you can see that this dude is pura natural if he takes something probably should be some complement of protein.

  • actually after workout we need fast digesting carbs

  • yeah i always knew gummy bears fucking rocked

  • how many grams of gummy bears should i eat? im sure u dont eat a full bowl of it ha

  • I love the concept but its made from high fructose corn syrup... which is bad?

  • go wit white rice

  • Again he has some sense just not a lot,

Post workout the only carbs you want have

    Waxy maize starch,

    Dextrose,

Maltodextrin not gummy bears which like most sweets is primarily sucralose with a GI of about 70, not taking the full benifit of insulin spiking,

That guy below me said bannana? Good.....not

Bannanas contain about 40% calories from fat, slow digestion during this time window will cost you gains.

  • skip the gummy bears, have a banana instead.

  • @LizzyBorden502 no, the banana has fruictose which isnt good as white sugar after a workout! and no, its not 100% the same. its all sugar but not exactly the same!

  • @BeatBay to be a bit more clear...the banana would be heathier for you than gummy bears...replace the gummy bears with a glass of grape juice. It has a fast acting sugar called maltodextrin...this will put vital nutrients back into your muscle cells.

  • @LizzyBorden502 yes, you are right, the banana is def healthier!! :) after the workout i dont eat gummybears or sweets, i just drink grape juice. but i read in an article, that the banana isnt so good (for the after workout shake) like for example white sugar or dextrose. but you are right!

  • A sucker is born every minute. You said it yourself, you're no nutritionist, and all this crap is just pseudoscience.

  • @MaicoMoon WRONG!!! Jim Stoppani received his doctorate in exercise physiology with a minor in biochemistry from the University of Connecticut.

  • and how much ?

  • how long after working out do i eat the gummy bears.. or the other sugary stuff ?

  • GUMMY BEAR SHAPED OATS!!! Hey dude by the way whats your take on doin it in the bedroom and how that effects doin it in the body LOL...Are those stories about getting soft after sex real or myth

  • Wuts supper dude duderdude, your very DENSE mentally, verbally and physically!

  • Insulin spike from fast digesting carbs is way to go post workout, though you should emphasise whole nutritonally dense food as much as you can. Because the body requires nutritents to construct the enzymes to break down the simple sugars, eating empty calories in the form of simple sugars places demands on your bodies own vitamin and mineral stores. I like your potatoe option! Mashed potatoe's cooked in bone broth is the best option I think. Minerals, fast carbs, healthy fats (MCT), healing...

  • i love how everyone has their own philosophy on everything, this guys is suggesting gummy bears as a bodybuilding food, now i've seen it all, i'm officially quitting reading bodybuilding books and doing research as they all contradict each other, i'm going to use common sense, eat WHOLE foods and train hard

  • can i eat graham crackers for my post workout meal w/ a protein shake???

  • I'm thinking about adding yogurt before my workout because i enjoy it while its cold and have no way of storing it for post workout, do you think im hurting myself, or helping myself?

  • Comment removed

  • I knew that getting an insulin boost post-work out was good but I never thought of chomping on a few gummi bears after lifting lol.

I'll give it a shot once or twice a week for a month or so when I lift big.

  • one litre of gatorade will work well post-workout.

  • this guy knows his shit!.spot on!.good advice!

  • @freeweights09 u have the most douchey name EVER

  • gummi bears have sugar

    +

    artificial carbs man

you want something natural, like rice or bread

  • GUMMI BEARS!? hahah

this guy is unconventional, like that :)

still dunno bout the soy advice tho :'D

  • Whatt about sugars that occur naturally in fruit or natural 100% fruit concentrates? Does that count?

  • @basscle... ofcourse they count, just keep in mind the Glycemic index , it should be high ....

  • i like his advises.. only thing, you cant look like a tough mofo eating gummy bears... if dextrose is what you want, better put honey on your shake, which is 80% dextrose.. or just buy dextrose, way cheaper than those fat ugly gummy bears hehe... besides that, this guys the shit! FTW

  • honey also has anti-estrogenic qualities

  • im not saying that everyone should do it, but apparently its considerd a heavy duty way of spiking insulin.

  • no, he is right. when cutler was in town for the arnold classic he came to my gym and i took a picture with while talking to him briefly, he mentioned he drinks a 24 ounce pepsi after every workout, even when he is training for a contest. he says corn syrup spikes your insulin better than any other, which means a better shuttle for amino's and protien

  • This clown has no clue what he's talking about.

  • Looks like someone else is the clown in this situation.

  • i heard you should eat cum post workout

  • i heard it's best to have oat meal at breakfast is it right

  • Yes, oatmeal is a slow digesting carb giving you a steady flow of energy throughout the day.

  • how long is the window of eating right after your workout

  • Try to have your post workout shake within 30 minutes after your workout then have a full meal after.

  • about 1-2 hours.
