  • I agree on one thing. New Orleans did not DIE in Katrina. It died even prior to Betsy in the early 1960's. It has never been the same culturally since. A kiss to the wind and a hearty, "hi-ho silver, away". sad.

  • I remember watchin yall go through this shit man and it hit me hard and I am stil fascinated wit Katrina...I guess cause I was able to actuall meet people who were at the Superdome among the chaos and were able to come to Charlotte and try to start over....One guy I met lost his whole family,Wife two daughters and one grandaughter in one big gust of wind and a swift current.......

  • This video should be called "Black New Orleans and Hurricane Katrina". Nothing on "old New Orleans" was in there.

  • black and white....yeah we had, and have our problems, but i don't think theres anywhere in the country, especially the south, where blacks and whites coexist like they do in new orleans. racism can no longer be tolerated we are only on this earth for a short period of time. theres no time for hate. look up robert kennedy mindless menace of violence on youtube, and get back to me.

  • Sadly we educate our children to become waiters and bell boys because the City needs people to work in the tourism industry.

We need industry where children can use their brains and make a good living instead of waiting on wealthy people that vacation here.

Education is the key to sucess.

  • Cowardly White's like you allowed niggers to devour New Orleans in the 1960's,

supported by Yankee trash who think niggers and queers are worth a shit.

That's why I left; and you can now all wallow in the filth you call home. How pathetic and sick you ignorant useless, cowardly bastards are.

  • @TheHauptsturmfuhrer My parents survived Nazi occupied Poland and they were ethnic German Poles. What do you think Nazis were? Philanthropists? They killed, raped their own. They dug a trench, rounded up random people, including children and forced the town to watch as they shot and rolled them in. For days the mound moved and moans and cries were heard. I wish you had a taste of it "Hauptsturmfuhrer". You are not fit to kiss black ass.

  • @TheHauptsturmfuhrer embarrasses our city, region and our state, not to mention our nation. This racist rant has no place in any corner of the earth. The problem with New Orleans, if there is any to be identified, can be identified with hateful, intolerant, racists like @TheHauptsturmfuhrer. I'm proud to be an Irish-American but am equally proud of the many other ethnicities and races we have in New Orleans. I hope he doesn't live anywhere near our great city.

  • i have to agree with all the ones that say new orleans is special i don't live their but its special to me i went last weekend and took pictures of every where including bourbon and lower 9th ward and i couldn't put it into words 4 yrs later lots has changed and lots hasn't changed.

  • as you can tell from this video, not a single white person was affected by Katrina, only blacks were. It was the white people and theit government that created the storm and had it target only black neighborhoods. The white blew up the levees to flood only the blacks. Thus say our lord, spike lee.

  • kicks001, you must be joking. because katrina did not discriminate. i was in the new orleans area during and after the storm.

  • yes, I was being sarcastic. Katrina was an Equal Opportunity Destroyer. I was here before, during and still after.

  • nigga you stupid. You neva even experienced that shit, I was in new orleans maself when and before this happen. Y'aint know.

  • The City didn't "die" years ago. I left also because I needed to make more money but I'm always home. Every year always home. Always will be home and I'm going back even if it's in a box

  • Katrina was a disaster of epic proportions. I'm a native New Orleanean that left yrs. ago due to job opportunities. My parents remained & lost everything that day. Unfortunately, due to violence, crime & corruption, the city I knew died long before the actual flood. Katrina was just the final physical straw. I miss my city, the one I grew up in. I hope it can be rebuilt. We need to come together - blame is senseless.

  • Katrina was a disaster of epic proportions. I'm a native New Orleanean that left the city in the 80's due to job opportunities but my parents remained & lost everything that day. Unfortunately the city I knew & loved died a long time before the flood. It's been a city in ruin for many years due to violence, corruption & crime. The flood was just the final straw. I miss my city but it's been gone for some time. I hope it can be rebuilt. We must never forget & we need to work together.

  • yeah, once again thanks loads george bush.

kayne was right, he doesn't like black people.

  • All I can say is wow!!! This is deep. Much respect.

    Peace

  • this song & video are awesome! My family lost everything & had to move to Jackson MS. I spent good times in N.O.,knew good people there/ great culture & soul, very colorful people & history. NOW FIX DEM LEVEE'S & SAVE NAWLIN'S NOW, DO IT NOW!!

  • It would be great to hear/see the GOOD things people did to help. I went to help with the rebuilding efforts like so many other volunteers. I know that there can never be enough done, but what about all those who helped and did save lives.

  • This whole situation was a total mess. FEMA, The Government, BUSH,..they all knew what we were facing wayyyy before Katrina got too close. As a result, lives were lost, houses were looted (incl. mine), by the so-called rescue squads, we were displaced, disregarded, and disrespected. Now they expect us to get right after two years when it took most of us all our lives to acheive and accomplish....Yeah Right.

  • And I really come to dislike the term "Refugee". A Refugee is one who evades the law at all costs. Katrina cost us everything we owned and worked so hard to get. we were forced out. Now whenever something happens in the news they make sure they put refugee in their discription of the people from New Orleans no matter what city and state we're in and its just not fair. I'm 9thWard Desire4Life....Nawlinz Baby

  • Why do you think FEMA the Red Cross and everyone else were intentionally held back from helping the people of New Orleans? Ahh yes FEMA would get 5 time the funding! Plus it was all a government BLACK OPS Training ground!! They got a chance to test their Marshal Law police state and see how much people would resist if they confiscate guns and round people into their FEMA death camps!! O... I mean FEMA detention centers!

  • Awesome song video and album...Where you at Bruce??

  • FuKiN RiTe On BOttOm DwELLeRz !! You Rok!!
