and it's not under US's rule. Vietnam war after 1945 is as same as Korea war, South Government needs the support from America, and u cannot say VN would become a state of US just because America helped to win the war. It somehow will insult South Korean.

Fair point. China's history is always about seperation and unification. one day china may split up again and tibetans may set up their own country. Evenso, China will reunify again and tibet again will be part of it. --> Vietnam has been a country in more than 1000 years and we wont never be a part of China again. No one in China is treating or even seeing the Tibetan ethnicity people as inferior, where did you get that idea from.

All ethnicities are treated the same, if anything minorities get more benefit than the majority Han ethnicity.

This is a very analytical argument. I assume what your present is make sense. But this will not change anything; As far as I know, the rate of Hans and Tibetians in Tibet is 3:1, and more than half of the Tibetians in China are believing in Banchan Lama (another religions leader who is support Chinese gov.). So fairly to say, if the western Country do not interfere, even election won't separate Tibet from China.

let's get this right: I am a buddhist myself, and some of the rules are included being loyal to the government, not involve in politics. so these monks are breaking the rule! it is important that monks are not allowed to be involve in politic as Shakyamuni believe politic is full of lies.

A Buddha is a person who is completely free from all faults and mental obstructions. even suffering is a form of practice. so clearly there is no reason for the monks to lead to riot.

leoachilles... the monks staged a peaceful protest which actually began on the 10th of March. The riots were instantiated by lay Tibetan people on the 14th of March.

about religion being separate from politics. the buddhist monks under the CCP cannot even practice their own religion in the way it has been practiced for hundreds if not thousands of years. please bear that in mind. monks are humans too.

two things:

-anybody (Chinese citizens, American citizens and all other citizens of the world) giving their opinion on the Tibet issue should study Tibetan history to the best of his/her ability. Comments based on ignorance tend to worsen the problem, unless of course the comments are made compassionately.

-Tibet was and is a part of China. This much is true. But Tibet will NOT always be a part of China. Just as the United States will NOT always exist in its current state. Nothing is permanent.

Thanks for the brief but well laid out reasonings. The only reason the Chinese government is jumping up and down when being critised about their treatment of the Tibetans people and Tibet itself is because they (the Chinese) have not had their ass kicked out of Tibet. Take Vietnam for example. If that country is still under Chinese rule, they will probably claim that Vietnam is a part of China too. Good thing the Vietnamese people kick the Chinese ass out of their country a long time ago. Heh!

One Chinese dynasty after another got their ass kick. Hell, the Vietnamese even kick the Mongols' (who conquered China) ass 3 times. Not bad for a piece of jungle land in my opinion.
