  • @schmidtm1010 Thanks! I can use all the extra prayers you're willing to give me.

  • @schmidtm1010 This is a silly thing to say (but I have to eat dinner): I suppose when you and I die, we'll figure out who is right and who is wrong. When it comes to religion, there is very little to be done in terms of arriving at absolute truths. I'm pretty confident that if I'm a generally good person, and I leave this world better than how I found it, I'll be accepted into whatever afterlife there might be.

And if religion is just made up, well, at least I'll have had a positive impact.

  • @schmidtm1010 I'm only following the tangents you're starting. You mentioned celibacy.

And dogma does change. John Paul II included slavery among matters that are ''intrinsically evil'' -- prohibited ''always and forever'' and ''without any exception'' -- a violation of a universal, immutable norm. Yet slavery in some form was accepted as a fact of life in both Hebrew and Christian Scriptures, in much Christian theology and in Catholic teaching well into the 19th century.

  • @schmidtm1010 There are Catholic priests are are married TODAY. The Church grants exemptions to this rule more often than you might think. So popular opinion has no effect on Religion. What causes religious tenets to change?

Also, you'll notice how none of my posts start with "YOU missed the point." I'm terribly sorry that I failed to connect the dots between a thing you mentioned and a thing you didn't mention.

  • @schmidtm1010 Actually, Priests used to be allowed to marry. This is a great example of something that HAS changed over time.

for example, Pope John XV was the son of Leo, a Catholic priest.

  • @schmidtm1010 You are not answering my question. If your church changes its mind - as it has done in the past - will you leave it?

  • @schmidtm1010 I'd love for you to answer my question: if the Catholic Church accepts gay people, will you leave it?

  • @schmidtm1010 More than 40% of Catholics have no problem with Gay Marriage. When that number grows, if the Catholic church accepts gay people, will you leave it?

  • @schmidtm1010 Well, I wouldn't use the word "accuse," but yes, I guess I would say I believe you don't really understand where I'm coming from. Yet you honestly think you have me figured out.

I guess I'm willing to admit I don't quite understand your "if you don't like it, just leave" mentality. Why would I leave something (Catholicism) that I've come to love so much?

  • @schmidtm1010 What does that have to do with the video?

  • @schmidtm1010 I think it's part of the human condition/experience that each one of us believes that not only do we understand ourselves perfectly, but also that we understand everyone ELSE with equal accuracy.

It's funny how seldom that is the case.

  • @schmidtm1010 As far as I'm concerned, my religion is a part of me. And if I can't laugh at myself....well...I guess I'd end up like you.

  • @schmidtm1010 It seems as though it bugs you that you can't figure me out. Sorry.

  • @schmidtm1010 I think you take religion too seriously. You should be able to laugh about things you love. Jesus must have had a terrific sense of humor to get so many people to listen to him.

  • so sexy, so smart, so humorous. gotta love ya :)

  • Excellent video!

  • LMAO wonderfully done and pointed out.

  • HAHAHA YOU ARE AN AMAZING HUMAN BEING. I love you so much!!!

  • The New American Bible for catholics..

2 things: the book looks like it's old as crap! and secondly, for catholics? Uhh yea ive never ever seen a bible for muslims!

  • @Imjustalone1 *face/palm*

  • 0:33 Priceless.

  • What an epic win-fail combination!

  • HAHAHAH!!!!

    this is great. XD

  • HAHAHA!!

  • LMFAO XD that actually made me lol real loud XD

  • haha...lol

  • Hey Matt, fancy finding you on YouTube - Loved this little piece...Your great :o)

    Wendy from Auz.

  • GENIUS, MATE! FUCKING GENIUS.

  • I'm pretty sure that's only talking about adding and taking away from Revelation. Not the whole Bible is 'prophetic' and the Bible as a whole was compiled when John was writing this. He probably didn't even know that the letters that he and others wrote would be compiled into the Bible.

    Just a thought :)

  • I wonder what are the mormons opinion on this.

  • are you kiddin me with this video,

no men who is with another will be allowed in the holy city 1 corinthians 6:9

all you gay supporters will go to hell if you don't change your ways

  • Nub.

no men who is with another [human] will be allowed in the holy city 1 Corinthians 6:9

What now, bitch? Everyone's going to hell now.

  • ure going to come right back to earth when u die because obviously you dont know anything about life...and you still have alot to learn.

  • I now proclaim (as an emissary of God, of course) that anyone who adds or subtracts from this video shall spend an eternity in hell. Because that's how it works. You say something, then you follow it up with a big ass threat if someone questions/disagrees with you. Kind of like calling someone a "pussy" if they aren't in on your plans.

  • fucking brilliant

  • OMG, I love this!!!

  • Where would you find this in the Bible?

  • I'm guessing Revelations... only because I slightly remember something about "not putting this book on your shelf" or something along those lines in Revelations.

  • Did you read the recent announcement from a Hebrew University professor that said that Moses was using hallucinogenic drugs on Mount Sinai? From reading Revelations, I'd say they were on crack ... or maybe opium - yeah I think opium was the drug of choice in antiquity

  • If anyone takes away from the meaning!!!! The message!!! The intent!!! Pwned

  • Love it.

  • you risk looking foolish...

Kind of like when you miss the joke and the use of irony etc........

Superb work - as always - Mr M. Loving Zap btw!

  • "revised new testament"

as far as I'm concerned...he is indeed reading from the new testament...

  • *snort* Bwahaha! That's just peachy.

  • brilliant!

  • You are an idiot. Basically you're saying that it's alright to revise the bible - but the bible is still the true word of God. The bible cannot possibly be such a thing, because it's been translated, revised and edited so many times that the original meaning has probably been all but lost. You cannot possibly believe that only the book of revelation should be free from change, but still eat up all the other things in the Bible.

  • HAve you ever heard of the "dead sea scrolls"?

The discovery of these proved the accuracy of scripture, read my friend.

  • Actually you will find that it IS like chinese whispers!!!

Afterall, how can you guarantee that what you have actually read in you 'revised' version of the bible is what was exactly 'written' those many moons ago!!!

You have to take the word from someone else that this is what it states!!!

  • i agree with scottish1977

  • You aska good question, read what wikipedia tells us:

The Dead Sea scrolls consist of roughly 900 documents, including texts from the Hebrew Bible, discovered between 1947 and 1956 in eleven caves in and around the Wadi Qumran (near the ruins of the ancient settlement of Khirbet Qumran, on the northwest shore of the Dead Sea) in the West Bank.

  • continued: The texts are of great religious and historical significance, as they include practically the only known surviving copies of Biblical documents made before 100 AD, and preserve evidence of considerable diversity of belief and practice within late Second Temple Judaism.

  • Yup... never forget to read the fine print.

  • Outstanding... simple and to the point..:)

  • Hi Machelli, I liked your other Gay Marriage video but not sure I get what you are tryin to say with this one. There is a way to comprehend that section of Rev. but its often mis-used. anyway I'll check back

  • awesome dude this is great

  • HAHAHAHA

  • That was great.

  • Finally someone catches that. I was worried we'd all go on for eternity thinking this supposed all-knowing god routinely translates his 'word' into different languages and updates the language to modern understanding. Phew!

  • You know, King James like gay sex too. Good fun.

  • God needs and editor?

  • HAHAHA!!! Yes... The thought has come to me many times that if the bible is the direct word of God then why do they have to revise it? Well one can argue that it needs to be translated from one language to a more understandable and easier to comprehend language... that's changing the words of God...

  • i know hilarious how christians and other religionsthat follo this "god"

    contridict themselves

  • Yeah and it's kinda sad that people often just accept it and follow blindly when people should actually question everything. By questioning and finding answers then they are even more faithful to their religion. I would rather question something and get no where than not question something and promote Mid-evil century mentalities... might as well claim that the world is flat. :|

  • i know! right

but wht gets on my nerves is tht when ppl say they are christian and then no absolutely nothing about the bible except they believe there is a god

and they themselves contridict theyre own morales its truely pathetic

  • Genius. That was effin' brilliant.

    xD

  • hahahahahahaha

  • hahahahaha!!!!

  • Hahaha brilliant!!

  • Bravo

    Bravo

    Fanfuckingtastic

I am a Catholic and holding on to being a Catholic by a small small peice of yarn and it's things like this give me reason to qestion not only the Catholic and the Christian spiritual religion as a whole but also to question the book that it's supreme ideas are laid forth by

    I'm going insane

  • Wow I'm going to totally check my bible now lol. I feel bad for finding it funny cause I'm a christian but thats so clever :)

  • haha dont agree with you on the gay marrige thing but thats was funny, u know they just translated it to make so people understand it better, still makes u think if that is considered a sin

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • my god is better than your god na na naaa

  • Hahahah. Good job.

  • dude you rock!!! your funny and i love all your videos...seriously u make youtube funnier for me:D

  • lol thats so funny! I see that ON EVERY BIBLE!

  • I'm a Christian Hispanic and follow the bible so fag boy go make fun of some thing else leave religion alone. And also to your gay video gays or immoral. And should nod be condoned are given any place in America. They choose to be gay so they should shut up and so should u bitch ass atheist.

  • Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

  • wow...if i remember he didn't make fun of religion..he just said that god will do horrible things if the bible is changed etc...and pointed to the front cover...i don't think he actaully made a joke about relgion...just what the publisher put on the front cover...so WESTANDBEAST...don't be stupid please, this guys cool, plus america is the land of the free...

  • You say "they" (presumably homosexuals) choose to be gay. Whatever happend to freedom of thought or choice?

Your god is not real, and if he was, he's a dick.

  • Someone choosing to be gay is illogical because there is no reason why you would want to be gay! Why would someone put themselves through social rejection, misery, ridicule, pain and eternal damnation? Im gay but I would rather be straight. I never EVER chose to be gay. Im glad you have accepted gays, but you have to know that they had no "freedom" to choose.

  • I know poeple do not choose to be gay, straight, bi, or what have you, it would be insanely stupid for me to say: "When you are a certain age, you make a choice as to your sexual orientation"; I did't mean for it to come out like that. I agree with you completely.

  • I completely understand you being offended by this if your a christian but damn man..If your so christian do you really think you need to sound so hateful..I mean lol you called him a bitch ass atheist. I'm not meaning anything by it I just didn't think it sounded very christian like.

  • you rock!

  • "This book" most likely means the Book of Revelation. The Bible is composed of many books that were from scrolls. In fact, the word "bible" is itself Greek for "books". It's a compilation of several works. People have the mistaken impression that it's a "book" because they get it bound in a single volume. But, that's no more a "book" than an apple is a tree.

  • i love you!! you make my day!

  • LOL!

  • omg! i love it sooooo funny and your soooooo fuckn cute!!!!!!!!!! snuggle wit me 4eva :D

  • haha

    you should make more vidz

  • Ha ha winner. :D

  • wtf does that mean?

  • That was awesome. I never understood how catholics got around that verse. Lol!

  • brilliant

  • lmao

  • You know, I was all set to hate you and unsubscribe, being a christan and all, but when i saw the end of that... THAT WAS REALLY FUNNY!! oh my, i was CHOKING. LOVE IT!!

  • LOL!!!!! :D Nice one!

  • Fucking Catholics.

  • ironic since he talks about the king james version also. fucking hipocrite.

  • What's up with the generalization? I don't go around saying "Fucking Atheists" for ignoring something or bending the truth. Something to think about before you make another generalization.

  • heh heh heh, take that religion! *giggle*

  • oh, that was GOOD!!! nice!

  • jaajajaaj what makes me laugh is ur face jaja its funny xD

  • roflmao. :o

  • Keep on thinking, it may be contagious.

  • You look like SCREECH from saved by the bell

  • u look like raymond on everybody loves raymond

  • nice

  • -.- lol.

  • Thats NOT the approved Bible at the Genva(idk if that is right) at about 100 B.C. Notice on the front it says FOR CATHOLIC. There are a few added books in the middle that were not approved by the early church. Try the NIV translation or the NKJV or the KJV.

  • Class

  • God, literally, LOVE. Nobody can change that word, His word the fact you still breath

  • Except for those of us who are agnostic/atheists. We don't believe in that shit. Don't dis our asses for it either. It's against the law to force your beliefs upon another. None of it's true. Yet none of it is a lie. People don't want it still can get it, they just don't. The Bible is a fabled story to keep the world in line, without it we would die. But with it we would as well, but slower.

  • i agree with some of that. i think [please no hate comments here, i grew up going to church and loving god and all that] that the bible is just a bunch of stories that people thought sounded cool and could con people out of their stuff waaaaay back when it was 'created'. and the people who were conned believe it, and told others about it, so it spread, eventually becoming what it is today.

but thats just what i think.

  • He also said, that His words will never go away. WOW man, I like and respect and understand your message. But think about it too, 2000 and more years and even here (youtube) and even you (another human being) talks about it. GOD RULES, you like it or not.

What you don't get, aks Him. He always answers.

  • 2 Author. ->5 :)

    2 yocreo

Dinosaurs where like couple million years before Christ, and everyone still talks about them. DINOSAURS RULE, you like it or not. -_-

  • Neat.

  • How is that possibly true? I mean, think logically for a second. God can't be seen. Considering that; he can not, without a physical form, do things for the physical world. Even if he did create the universe. He can't do anything for it. So what's the point in religion? To keep the world from falling into chaos. I tried religion. I really did. I just couldn't hear or find this 'God' person. There is no two ways about it. It's all in your head.

  • Yeah. Revised.

Not like the message has been changed.

  • Somewhere in that "great book" (I'd like to point out the sarcasm to the completely ignorant) there is also a line of not using the name of God in Vein... Also it is written that Thou shalt not murder... Finally it is said to not Envy your neightbours house, wife, ox, or anything that is owned by him.

Makes you wonder what the Crusades were all about...

    ...and the inquisition :P

  • Because the priests were not telling the whole gospel to them because they only wanted to get more and more power.

  • Another awsome vid.

  • There's a lot of sceptiscism, but I think this is a good interpretation of not just the Bible, but religion in general. So what if it was just talking about Revelation, I think it can go for the whole book. :) I liked it, onto the next movie!

  • Thank god someone notices this other than me.

The bible was written well over 200 hundred years after the time of Jesus and whatnots. I've heard it was 500, but I'm not sure on that. But think of how a rumor can circulate in 5 minutes, passing it in a circle of 30 people.

Imagine that, but with the bible, and 200 years.

  • Dude, when you think about it, you dont believe in god, but you believe in what other people tell you. Its not the point of it being revised, but how shit just doesnt add up.

  • Declaration of Independence:

    "...endowed, by their Creator,..."

Wow. the American Nation DOES involve God.

  • FUCK GOD, FUCK JESUS, JUST LIVE LIFE

  • Fuck you chald. God created us. Thank him

  • Fuck you ImaTeenAgeLobotomy. The FSM created us. Thank him.

  • Chald0 don't get F..., do not feel F.... maybe some being humble will help your day to day. He is there waiting for you to try again and get peace, make a positive difference in the world and trust yourself as a great creation for eternity.

  • you're fucking crazy man, thanks for wasting my time jejeje

  • turn ur speaker up when u make vids would u. i turn my vol. all the way up and it still hard to hear.

  • This guy is better than anyone on the pop news channels. He's witty, pithy, and actually has something to say.

CNN, GIVE THIS GUY A JOB!

  • I didn't understadn what that article was saying, it;s like a dictionary with complex meaning for words D= can't they just make it simple without the fancy language???

  • That's what I'm talking about!

  • what an ass.

  • Frankly god didnt write the book anyway so...who is some human to say what god will do if someone changes their work

  • amen to that!

  • We believe that the book was inspired by the Holy Spirit of God. It makes sense when you live it.

  • that's right and the people who revised the catholic bible better look out

  • lolollolololololololololl pronage

  • lmaoo niceee

  • wow nice

  • Nicely played. I saw a play today, inherit the wind, and its about the monkey trails. And they brought up a good point and question: Was it god that made humans, or humans that made god?

  • "If God didn't exist, we'd have to invent him."

    ~Voltaire

  • mhm, pretty much the same concept. I mean, i believe in God, only because of the off chance that he does exsist, i dont wana go to hell.

  • If you believe in God for that reason, I'm afraid you'll go to Hell anyway =)

There is only one thing that you're a hundred percent sure : your existence. Since it's your only real truth, make it worth it and enjoy your life! If God really exists, that He is pure Love, I don't know why he'd throw us in Hell. Unless He's either stupid or evil.

  • if god is pure love why is it that people who belive in him are some of the most hateful people i have ever seen. but every person i have ever seen that said they warship the devil seem to be really nice people??

  • and on that note...>> look how many evil things have been done in the world in the name of god... i can't think of too many that have been done in the name of the devil

  • Maybe but i'm not entirely wrong

  • You just point out one of the numerous reasons why I'm atheist =)

I think the Bible contradicts itself so much that it's impossible that it has been written by an entity of "pure love", unless "pure love" means flooding the planet, forcing people to sacrifice their child, etc.

  • The bible along with most religons are based on blind faith, if you have read the bible you will notice that during it,it repeativly states that humans can do nothing right, we will always sin no matter what, the only way to recover from this is to belive and warship

    ...hum?

  • ...lets see..break someone down..force them to act a way..hum...that sounds...reminds me of something...

    OH ya..brain washing....

P.S. I'm not a atheist, and yes i belive in god..>< i just hate churches and organized religons ..... i should have spent more time in english class i think ( can't spell)

  • You know, I'm atheist but I'm not anti-religion. I just dislike the fact that there are too many believers that don't think and that accept the Bible has a whole and universal truth. Blind brainwashed worshiping in short.

I'm glad you're not one of them =)

  • Worship and believe? you are pretty ignorant. Repentance is the key to salvation. If you know you are a sinner and don't repent you wont obtain mercy and see God's amazing grace. If you don't know God or are a pseudo Christian then I could see why ignorance is bliss. Hope that bliss is worth your eternity. God bless you all.

  • You assume to much, you think becuse people are talking about the bible that they dont seek repentance, and haven't come to know gods mercy.Sin is apart of the human way, the bible was wrote by humans. is it so hard to conceive that maybe it was changed to it could be used to control people?

People who defend the bible with out thought, really should open their minds and search for god.

  • If Adam and Eve never ate from the Tree, we wouldn't be where we are right now, would we? We'd be living in blissful ignorance in Paradise. However, people say that the trials we're going through makes us stronger, better people. So which would people nowadays find more important or better? Bettering themselves as human beings, or living in blissful ignorance? But would we even exist if Adam and Eve were never tempted by the Devil to eat from the Tree and gain Knowledge?

  • You're asking questions that wouldn't really make a difference to anyone but theists...

  • Because people who feel the overwhelming need to find comfort in God are sometimes the same people who feel the need to conquer and dominate to quell their own insecurities in life.

People struggle so much to find meaning in life that they often feel invalidated by the existence of someone whose beliefs invalidate their own.

    Oh, wait. Was that rhetorical?

  • Religion is full of hypocrisies. Masterfully done Machelli!

  • Have I told you you're the best occidental ever! T'was a very nice critique!

  • Tru Dat Major Pain

  • will you marry me?

  • I couldn't agree more!

  • So simple and yet so powerful. I thank you.

  • that's it, i'm subscribing.

  • You're amazing.

  • All your videos are amazing man, thank you

  • I was a little apprehensive at first, thinking that you surely were going to blast Christianity.Instead you made me think for a minute. Well done.

  • well thats just the thing, if it wasnt for the catholic scare tactics, the religion wouldnt have lasted this long. believing in God should be something to enjoy, not to fear. These people that write these books should stop fearing god and his wrath and start being afraid of their impact on the generations to come. thats something our ancestors have failed to do.

  • Holy crap that is mind blowing.

  • Why do people need to believe that God is going to reward or punish them?

Can't people have their own moral beliefs and trust themselves to carry them out?

  • Ha ha! I love your face right before it says "the end"

  • DUDE! you should become an actor man!

  • hilarious.

    respect!

  • oh my god that was so funny. maybe they revised it and took out the 'it's ok to fuck the same sex' part

  • ur a good video maker!!
